The development of strong sensitizing and Earth-abundant antenna molecules is highly desirable for CO2.eduction through artificial photosynthesis. Herein, a library of Zn–dipyrrin complexes（Z-1-Z-6） are rationally designed via precisely controlling their molecular configuration to optimize strong sensitizing Earth-abundant photosensitizers. Upon visible-light excitation, their special geometry enables intramolecular charge transfer to induce a charge-transfer state, which was first demonstrated to accept electrons from electron donors. The resulting long-lived reduced photosensitizer was confirmed to trigger consecutive intermolecular electron transfers for boosting CO2.to-CO conversion. Remarkably, the Earth-abundant catalytic system with Z-6 and Fe-catalyst exhibits outstanding performance with a turnover number of >2. 000 and 2..7% quantum yield, representing excellent catalytic performance among the molecular catalytic systems and highly superior to that of noble-metal photosensitizer Ir（ppy）2.bpy）+under similar conditions. Experimental and theoretical investigations comprehensively unveil the structure–activity relationship, opening up a new horizon for the development of Earth-abundant strong sensitizing chromophores for boosting artificial photosynthesis.

High-cost pre-alloyed powder is the bottleneck problem that limits the widespread application of additivemanufactured shape memory *** this work,the lowcost ternary NiTiFe shape memory alloy is fabricated by laser powder bed fusion(LPBF)technique via mechanically mixed pre-alloy NiTi powder and varying contents pure Fe powder(1,2.3 wt%).All NiTiFe alloys show a relative density of up to 99.8%by optimizing the LPBF processing *** to the heterogeneous nucleation effect of micron-sized Fe particles,both grain refinement and texture weakening are generated in the NiTiFe alloys,accompanied by the reduction of dislocation *** the room-temperature mechanical properties,the NiTi-3Fe alloy shows the highest microhardness of HV370,but the fracture strength and elongation reduce to1701 MPa and 2.%*** evolution of mechanical properties is attributed to the high internal defects,low dislocation density and the incoherent ***,the NiTi-3Fe alloy shows the quasi-linear superelasticity behavior;the superelastic recoverable strain of NiTi-1Fe and NiTi-2.e decreased with the increase in Fe *** study provided a new-fangled insight for the development of multi-component NiTi-based shape memory alloys by additive manufacturing.

We proposed and experimentally demonstrated a simple and novel photonic spiking neuron based on a distributed feedback(DFB) laser subject to side-mode optical pulse injection(SMOPI). The DFB laser chip is designed and fabricated based on asymmetric equivalent π phase shift(π-EPS) with the reconstruction-equivalent-chirp(REC) technique. Under side-mode continuous-wave(CW) optical injection,excitability pulse was experimentally observed during the dominant mode switching process due to the injection-locked effect. Based on the transition between the excitability regime and the side-mode injection locking effect, the controllable and repeatable neuron-like spiking response can be realized when external stimulus pulses are electro-optically modulated on the CW optical carrier. The experimental results show that the spike threshold, temporal integration, and refractory period, which are important spike processing mechanisms in biological neurons, can all be achieved in the optically-injected DFB laser. The experimental findings are also verified numerically with a rate equation model that considers the SMOPI. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first experimental demonstration of a photonic spiking neuron based on a DFB laser subject to SMOPI, which holds promise for realizing large-scale photonic spiking neuron arrays for hardware photonic spiking neural network chips.

Measurements studies have shown that the absorption of radiation by black carbon(BC)increases as the particles ***,there are significant discrepancies between the measured and modeled absorption enhancement(E_(abs)),largely due to the simplifications used in modeling the mixing states and shape *** took advantage of chamber experiments on BC aging and developed an efficient method to resolve the particle shape based on the relationship between the coating fraction(ΔD_(ve)/D_(ve),0)and fractal dimension(D_(f)),which can also reflect the variations of D_(f)during the whole BC aging *** with externally and partly mixed states(0≤ΔD_(ve)/D_(ve),0≤0.5)can be considered to be uniformly distributed with the D_(f)values of 1.8–2.1,whereas the Df values are constrained in the range 2.2.2.8 for fully mixed states(ΔD_(ve)/D_(ve),0>0.5).The morphological parameters(i.e.,the effective density and the dynamic shape factor)were compared with the measured values to verify the simulated *** simulated mean deviations of morphological parameters were smaller than 8%for the method resolving the particle *** applying a realistic shape and refractive index,the mass absorption cross for fully mixed states can be improved by 11%compared with a simplified core–shell *** on our understanding of the influence of D_(f)andΔD_(ve)/D_(ve),0 on E_(abs),we propose a two-stage calibration equation to correct the E_(abs)values estimated by the core–shell model,which reduces the simulation error in the Mie calculation by 6%–14%.

The development of aqueous Zn batteries is limited by parasitic water reactions,corrosion,and dendrite *** address these challenges,an inner Helmholtz plane(IHP)regulation method is proposed by employing low-cost,non-toxic maltitol as the electrolyte *** preferential adsorption behavior of maltitol can expel the water from the inner Helmholtz plane,and thus hinder the immediate contact between Zn metal and H_(2.***,strong interaction between maltitol and H_(2.O molecules can restrain the activity of H_(2.***,the"IHP adsorption effect"along with the low LUMO energy level of maltitol-CF_(3)SO_(3)^(-)can promote the in-situ formation of an organic-inorganic complex solid electrolyte interface(SEI)*** a result,the hydrogen/oxygen evolution side reaction,corrosion,and dendrites issues are effectively suppressed,thereby leading to highly reversible and dendrite-free Zn plating/*** Zn‖I_(2.battery with hybrid electrolytes also demonstrates high electrochemical performance and ultralong cycling stability,showing a capacity retention of 75%over 2.000 charge-discharge cycles at a large current density of 5 A g^(-1).In addition,the capacity of the device has almost no obvious decay over2.000 cycles even at-30℃.This work offers a successful electrolyte regulation strategy via the IHP adsorption effect to design electrolytes for high-performance rechargeable Zn-ion batteries.
