This letter reports the synthesis of Schiff base calix[4]arene crowns containing m-xylylene phenol subunit, in which calix[4]arene Schiff base crowns 2a, 2b and 2c were formed by 1:1 condensation of calix[4]arene diamine 1 with dialdehydes (2, 6-diformyl-4-chlorophenol 3a, 2, 6-diformyl-4-methylphenol 3b, 2, 6-diformyl-4-tert-butylphenol 3c) under high dilute condition in refluxing anhydrous ethanol in 65-70% yield.

(1R,2R,3S,4R,7R)-7-Isopropyl-6-methylbicyclo[2.2.2]oct-5-ene-2,3-dicarboxylic acid anhydride(tetrahydro-4,7-ethanoisobenzofuran-1,3-dione derivative)adduct 2 was prepared via the isomerization ofα-pinene andβ-pinene in turpentine followed by the Diels-Alder cycloaddition with maleic anhydride in the presence of phosphoric acid/iodine *** molecular structure of adduct 2 was characterized by IR,1H NMR,13C NMR,1H-1H COSY,DEPT,HSQC,HMBC,2D NOESY and MS *** single crystal X-ray crystallographic analysis of adduct 2 was performed,and the X-ray powder diffractive spectrum of the sample adduct 2 is consistent with the diffractive spectrum calculated from the single crystal *** the structure and stereochemistry of adduct 2 was established based on extensive spectral data and single crystal X-ray analysis.

Novel and effective H-shaped chromophores were doped into polymethyl methacrylate （PMMA） to form guest-host polymer thin films. The measurement results of Maker fringe method show that the polymer thin films containing the H-shaped chromophores as a guest exhibit high second harmonic coefficients （d33） compared with other two-dimensional chromophores.

The interfacial behaviors of the non-typical amphiphilic compound p-methylphenylazocalix[4]arene 1 and p-chlorophenylazocalix[4]arene 2 at the air/water interface and photochromism in the Langmuir-Blodgett films were studied by surface pressure-area isotherm and UV-Vis spectra. The results indicate that they can form stable monolayers at the air / water interface although they have no hydrophobic alkyl chains, and their LB film underwent reversible trans-cis photoisomerization on UV and daylight illumination.

A series of new fluoro-containing copolymers have been synthesized by a Mitsunobu reaction with 4,4＇-（hexafluoroisopropylidene） bisphenol A（6FBPA） and the corresponding N,N-dihydroxyethylaminoaryl azo or ring-locked triene compounds, which have high thermal stability and good solubility in organic *** nonlinear optical（NLO） measurements made by Marker fringe method at 1064 nm indicate that the copolymers embedded with the ring-locked triene and azo chromophores exhibit higher macroscopic nonlinear optical coefficient（70.2 pm/V and 26.5-34.6 pm/V,respectively）.Thermal analysis and UV-visible absorption spectra show that the copolymers have good thermal stability（T_d= 264-319℃） and optical transparency （λ_（max）500 nm）.

Two tribranched chromophores,1,3,5-triazine as electron deficient core,9,9-dimethylfluorene asπ-conjugated bridge, diphenylamino（4a） and naphthylamino（4b） as electron-donating end-groups,were successfully prepared via Buchwald-Hartwig coupling *** linear photophysical and two-photon absorption（TPA） properties were investigated by absorption, fluorescence and nonlinear transmission method,*** absorption cut-offs of the chromophores are below 550 nm and both chromophores have strong fluorescence *** compound 4a（206.3 GM） exhibits larger TPA cross-section than 4b （57.8 GM） in the femtosecond regime at 800 nm.

A novel octupolar chromophore with 1,3,5-triazine as core,2,7-divinylene-9,9-dimethylfluorene as extendedπ-conjugated bridge,triarylamine as the electron-donating end-groups was successfully synthesized and *** linear photophysical and two-photon absorption（TPA） properties were investigated by UV absorption,excited fluorescence（SPEF） spectra and nonlinear transmission method,*** absorption cut-off of the chromophore is below 520 nm and it has stronger fluorescence emission in a nonpolar *** addition,the chromophore exhibits larger TPA cross-section（226.0 GM） in the femtosecond regime at 800 nm.

Molecular machines are key to cellular activity where they are involved in converting chemical and light energy into efficient mechanical *** the last 60 years,designing molecular structures capable of generating unidirectional mechanical motion at the nanoscale has been the topic of intense *** progress has been made,attributed to advances in various fields such as supramolecular chemistry,biology and nanotechnology,and ***,individual molecular machines are only capable of producing nanometer work and generally have only a single *** order to address these problems,collective behaviors realized by integrating several or more of these individual mechanical units in space and time have become a new *** this review,we comprehensively discuss recent developments in the collective behaviors of molecular *** particular,collective behavior is divided into two *** is the appropriate integration of molecular machines to efficiently amplify molecular motions and deformations to construct novel functional *** other is the construction of swarming modes at the supramolecular level to perform nanoscale or microscale *** discuss design strategies for both modes and focus on the modulation of features and ***,in order to address existing challenges,the idea of transferring experience gained in the field of micro/nano robotics is presented,offering prospects for future developments in the collective behavior of molecular machines.

The rapid development of computational technology and the increasing energy demand have improved heat exchanger network(HEN)*** HEN synthesis involves several optimizations of matches,distributions of heat loads,and stream splitting of heat ***,obtaining good results at high efficiency has been the main standard for evaluating the techniques in the research area of HEN *** paper first summarizes and analyzes the main contributions of the existing HEN synthesis *** compare related data quantitively,information on ten typical cases is presented in this ***,recently improved solutions for commonly encountered existing literature cases demonstrate the evolution and competition trends in the field of HEN *** comparison data presented in this paper not only provide a useful reference for future research but also present the optimization *** on the findings of this study,it is noted that there is still a large room for improvement,and current approaches are incapable of dealing with all HEN ***,it is still difficult to escape a local optimum and overcome structural constraints when seeking the global *** a follow-up to the current work,the parallel computing mode and adaptively coordinating the ratio of global and local searching abilities are major development trends for future investigation.
