The northern East China Sea and Yellow Sea are highly dynamic marginal seas,serving as important fishing grounds and primary areas for *** zooplankton community structure,including abundance,biovolume,and normalized biovolume size spectra(NBSS)within this ecosystem in summers 2021 and 2022 was assessed through ZooScan digital imaging *** abundances of zooplankton in summers 2021 and 2022 were 3364.22±2190.53 and 4435.52±2520.06 inds./m^(3),respectively,whereas the corresponding biovolumes were 649.10±519.63 and 1064.86±1254.87 mm^(3)/m^(3),*** copepods as the dominant zooplankton functional group in terms of abundance in both years,while chaetognath and medusae were the dominant groups in terms of *** dominance of medusae and chaetognath in terms of biovolume,along with the flatter slopes of NBSS compared to a stable community,indicated that more energy accumulated in gelatinous organisms within the study *** were significant positive relationships between temperature and tunicates or medusae,with a significantly higher population size observed in summer 2022 than in *** lower abundance and biovolume of zooplankton,mainly of small copepods,in summer 2021 may be related to the larger population size of the large jellyfish and the proliferation of green *** investigation provided basic data and fundamental insights for achieving a comprehensive understanding of zooplankton community structure and their long-term dynamics.

以多壁碳纳米管作为固相吸附材料,与高效液相色谱联用建立食品中痕量磺胺兽药残留的分析方法,对富集条件和分离条件进行了详细优化。以1μg/L的10种磺胺混合标准溶液富集100mL,9次平行测定的峰面积相对标准偏差(RSD)在2.56%～7.62%,10种磺胺的最低检测限(S/N=3)在2.1ng/L～9.3ng/L,线性范围均在0.2μg/L～15μg/L之间。实际样品加标回收率范围为70.18%～85.68%,相对标准偏差范围为1.02%～14.56%。

Despite considerable research underscoring the importance of carbohydrate intake in relation to the risk of type 2 diabetes(T2D), a comprehensive assessment of this relationship is currently lacking. We aimed to examine the associations of various types and food sources of dietary carbohydrate intake with the risk of T2D, to evaluate potential effect modification by other factors, including genetic susceptibility,and to explore the potential mediators for such associations. The present study included 161,872 participants of the UK Biobank who were free of prevalent cancer, cardiovascular disease, or diabetes, and had at least one validated 24-h dietary recall assessment. Multivariableadjusted age-stratified Cox proportional hazard regression models were applied to estimate hazard ratios(HRs) and 95% confidence intervals(CI) for the associations of various types and food sources of dietary carbohydrate intake with risk of T2D. During a median follow-up of13.6 years, 4,176 incident cases of T2D were identified. In the multivariable-adjusted models, a greater intake of fiber, carbohydrates from whole grains, and carbohydrates from non-starchy vegetables was significantly associated with a lower risk of T2D(highest vs. lowest quantile, HR [95% CI]=0.70 [0.62–0.79], 0.74 [0.67–0.82], and 0.83 [0.75–0.92], respectively, all P for trend <0.005). In contrast, a higher intake of starch and carbohydrate from starchy vegetables was associated with an increased risk of T2D(highest vs. lowest quantile, HR [95%CI]=1.31 [1.16–1.48] and 1.19 [1.09–1.31], respectively, both P for trend <0.005). Replacing one serving of refined grains or starchy vegetables with an equal amount of whole grains or non-starchy vegetables was associated with 4% to 10% lower risk of T2D(all P values <0.001).The observed associations were generally similar across population subgroups, including individuals with different genetic susceptibility to T2D. The study of high-energy gamma-ray emission from gamma-ray bursts(GRBs) involves complex synchrotron radiation and synchrotron self-Compton(SSC) scattering mechanisms with multiple parameters exhibiting a wide distribution. Recent advancements in GRB research, particularly the observation of very high energy(VHE,>100 Ge V) radiation, have ushered in a new era of multiwavelength exploration, offering fresh perspectives and limitations for understanding GRB radiation mechanisms. This study aimed to leverage VHE observations to refine constraints on synchrotron + SSC radiation from electrons accelerated by forward shocks. By analyzing two external environments—the uniform interstellar medium and stratified stellar wind medium, we conducted spectral and variability fitting for five specific bursts(GRB 180720B, GRB 190114C, GRB 190829A, GRB 201216C, and GRB 221009A) to identify the optimal parameters characterizing these events. A comparative analysis of model parameter distributions with and without VHE radiation observations reveals that the magnetic energy equipartition factor εBis more concentrated with VHE emissions. This suggests that VHE emissions may offer greater constraints on this microphysical parameter. Additionally, we found that the energy budget between VHE and ke V–Me V γ-ray emissions under the SSC radiation exhibits an almost linear relationship, which may serve as a tool to differentiate radiation mechanisms. We anticipate future statistical analyses of additional VHE bursts to validate our findings.

The paper is an introduction to the front-end pulse acquisition and the back-end pulse biomimetic reproduction system. This system is capable of faithfully replicating the complete pulse waveform collected at the front end. Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) practitioners analyze and diagnose the pulse patterns at the replication end. Meanwhile, the obtained pulse waveforms are analyzed and learnt by a neural network based on key diagnostic points in TCM pulse taking, which enables the determination of the corresponding relationships between different pulse waveforms and various pulse patterns in TCM pulse taking. With the support of clinical samples, an auxiliary diagnostic system for TCM pulse patterns ensures the accuracy of pulse pattern replication.

Genome-wide association study reveals that enolase gene OsEE1 regulates coleoptile elongation in rice under anaerobic conditions

Submergence can induce anaerobic stress on germinating seedlings in direct seeded rice paddy fields, limiting the practice of direct seeding. Longer coleoptiles improves the anaerobic tolerance of rice seedlings under submerged conditions. In a search for genes that could be beneficial for developing submergence-tolerant varieties 148 non-repetitive SNP loci were detected in on a genome-wide association study (GWAS) of coleoptile length (CL), coleoptile surface area (CSA), coleoptile volume (CV), and coleoptile diameter (CD) of 591 rice accessions subjected to 4 d of anaerobic conditions. Integration of GWAS results and gene expression data identified OsEE1, an early embryogenesis-specific enolase 1 gene associated with coleoptile length (CL) in rice grown in anaerobic conditions. Disruption of OsEE1 caused reduced CL in plants seeded under anaerobic conditions, whereas CL of OE-OsEE1 overexpression lines was significantly increased compared with the wild type. Functional analysis revealed that OsEE1 affects coleoptile length by modulating the glycolysis and tricarboxylic acid cycle pathways. Transcriptome sequencing of ko-osee1-1 knock out mutants highlighted enrichment in energy and carbohydrate metabolism, glycolysis, amino acid metabolism, and hormone signal transduction. Metabolite analysis indicated decreased levels of key metabolites in the tricarboxylic acid cycle and glycolysis pathways in ko-osee1-1 mutants compared to the wild type under anaerobic conditions. Overall, these findings shed light on the role of OsEE1 in determination coleoptile length of rice seedlings under anaerobic conditions. © 2024 Crop Science Society of China and Institute of Crop Science, CAAS

A New Adaptive Prediction Algorithm for Judicial Sentencing with Empirical Studies

With the development and applications of the Smart Court System(SCS) in China, the reliability and accuracy of legal artificial intelligence have become focal points in recent years. Notably,criminal sentencing prediction, a significant component of the SCS, has also garnered widespread attention. According to the Chinese criminal law, actual sentencing data exhibits a saturated property due to statutory penalty ranges, but this mechanism has been ignored by most existing studies. Given this, the authors propose a sentencing prediction model that combines judicial sentencing mechanisms including saturated outputs and floating boundaries with neural networks. Building on the saturated structure of our model, a more effective adaptive prediction algorithm will be constructed based on the fusion of several key ideas and techniques that include the utilization of the L1 loss together with the corresponding gradient update strategy, a data pre-processing method based on large language model to extract semantically complex sentencing elements using prior legal knowledge, the choice of appropriate initial conditions for the learning algorithm and the construction of a double-hidden-layer network structure. An empirical study on the crime of disguising or concealing proceeds of crime demonstrates that our method can achieve superior sentencing prediction accuracy and significantly outperform common baseline methods.
