Variation in Antioxidants, Bioactive Compounds and Antioxidant Capacity in Germinated and Ungerminated Grains of Ten Rice Cultivars

Present study was conducted to characterise ten rice(Oryza sativa L.) cultivars viz. IET-23466, Dhan-201, IET-23448, MAS-946, IET-23445, IET-23463, IET-23455, PR-123, PR-115 and IET-23449 based on antioxidants(total phenolics, flavonols and tannins), bioactive compounds(phytic acid, gamma amino butyric acid, tocopherol and reduced ascorbate) and antioxidant activity(1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl radical scavenging activity, hydroxyl radical scavenging activity, free radical antioxidant power and total reducing power) with an aim to identify cultivars containing higher health promoting components after germination. Three cultivars IET-23466, IET-23463 and PR-123 performed better as revealed by higher level of antioxidants, bioactive compounds and antioxidant activity before and after germination. Three cultivars MAS-946, IET-23445 and IET-23449 had moderate level of antioxidants, bioactive compounds and antioxidant activity. Four cultivars Dhan-201, IET-23448, IET-23455 and PR-115 performed intermediately. Strong positive correlation was observed among total phenolics and the antioxidant activity. Phytic acid was found to be negatively correlated to the antioxidant activity. Our results highlighted that cultivars IET-23466, IET-23463 and PR-123 hold great potential after germination and would open up a useful opportunity for the functional food industry, and consumption of these cultivars after germination would afford health benefits to consumers since they contain higher level of antioxidants.

草是小麦田的主要杂草 ,尤其是水稻—小麦复种田块发生较为严重。用异丙隆防除　草已有 2 0多年的历史 ,防治效果十分显著。但近来有研究表明　草已具有对异丙隆的抗性。本试验研究了不同除草剂单独相继使用与混合使用对该杂草的防治效果。结果表明 ,播后 60 d,出苗前喷施氟乐灵和第一次灌水后喷施异丙隆的处理 ,除草效果最佳 ,而在成熟期 ,第一次灌水后喷施噻黄隆的处理具有与以上处理同样的防治效果。虽然使用异丙隆的处理产量最高 ,但一些除草剂单独相继使用也具有很好的杂草防治效果 ,小麦产量显著高于未用除草剂的对照。作者认为 ,在　草防治上存在有异丙隆抗性的地区。

An Explanation of the Temperature-Dependent Upper Critical Field Data of H3S on the Basis of the Thermodynamics of a Superconductor in a Magnetic Field

Excellent fits to a couple of the data-sets on the temperature (T)-dependent upper critical field (Hc2) of H3S (critical temperature, Tc ≈ 200 K at pressure ≈ 150 GPa) reported by Mozaffari, et al. (2019) were obtained by Talantsev (2019) in an approach based on an ingenious mix of the Ginzberg-Landau (GL), the Werthamer, Helfand and Hohenberg (WHH), and the Gor’kov, etc., theories which have individually been employed for the same purpose for a long time. Up to the lowest temperature (TL) in each of these data-sets, similarly accurate fits have also been obtained by Malik and Varma (2023) in a radically different approach based on the Bethe-Salpeter equation (BSE) supplemented by the Matsubara and the Landau quantization prescriptions. For T TL, however, while the (GL, WHH, etc.)-based approach leads to Hc2(0) ≈ 100 T, the BSE-based approach leads to about twice this value even at 1 K. In this paper, a fit to one of the said data-sets is obtained for the first time via a thermodynamic approach which, up to TL, is as good as those obtained via the earlier approaches. While this is interesting per se, another significant result of this paper is that for T TL it corroborates the result of the BSE-based approach.

Mathematical Modeling of Moored Ship Motion in Arbitrary Harbor utilizing the Porous Breakwater

The motion of the moored ship in the harbor is a classical hydrodynamics problem that still faces many challenges in naval operations,such as cargo transfer and ship pairings between a big transport ship and some small ships.A mathematical model is presented based on the Laplace equation utilizing the porous breakwater to investigate the moored ship motion in a partially absorbing/reflecting *** motion of the moored ship is described with the hydrodynamic forces along the rotational motion(roll,pitch,and yaw)and translational motion(surge,sway,and heave).The efficiency of the numerical method is verified by comparing it with the analytical study of Yu and Chwang(1994)for the porous breakwater,and the moored ship motion is compared with the theoretical and experimental data obtained by Yoo(1998)and Takagi et al.(1993).Further,the current numerical scheme is implemented on the realistic Visakhapatnam Fishing port,India,in order to analyze the hydrodynamic forces on moored ship motion under resonance *** model incorporates some essential strategies such as adding a porous breakwater and utilizing the wave absorber to reduce the port’s *** has been observed that these tactics have a significant impact on the resonance inside the port for safe maritime ***,the current numerical model provides an efficient tool to reduce the resonance within the arbitrarily shaped ports for secure anchoring.

Warm Standard Scalar Field Modified Chaplygin Gas Inflation Inspired by Generalized Dissipative Coefficient on the Brane

We discuss the warm inflation in the presence of standard scalar field model and modified Chaplyggin gas in brahe-world scenario. We consider weak and strong dissipative regimes with generalized dissipative coefficient. We extract various inflationary parameters. For example, we analyze the behavior of different ratios （ratio of dissipative co-efficient and Hubble parameter Г/3H, ratio of temperature and Hubble parameter T/ H, scalar-to-tensor ratio ＇r） with respect to spectral index ns for the weak and strong dissipative regimes through parametric plotting. It is found that T/H and Г/3H satisfied the required conditions in both dissipative regimes. It is also noted that the spectral index （ns） ns=0.96＋0.10-0.10 It is remarked here that our results are consistence with observational data WMAP7, WMAP9, and recent Planck data.

Isolation and characterization of a degradation product in leflunomide and a validated selective stability-indicating HPLC-UV method for their quantification

Leflunomide （LLM） is subjected to forced degradation under conditions of hydrolysis, oxidation, dry heat, and photolysis as recommended by International Conference on Harmonization guideline Q1A（R2）. In total, four degradation products （I-IV） were formed under different conditions. Products I, II and IV were formed in alkaline hydrolytic, acidic hydrolytic and alkaline photolytic conditions. LLM and all degradation products were optimally resolved by gradient elution over a C18 column. The major degradation product （IV） formed in hydrolytic alkaline conditions was isolated through column chromatography. Based on its IH NMR, IR and mass spectral data, it was characterized as a British Pharmacopoeial impurity B. The HPLC method was found to be linear, accurate, precise, sensitive, specific, rugged and robust for quantification of LLM as well as product IV. Finally, the method was applied to stability testing of the commercially available LLM tablets.
