The exposure risks associated with pathogens and antibiotic resistance genes in bioaerosol from municipal landfill and surrounding area

Pathogenic microbes with antibiotic resistance can thrive on municipal solid waste as nutrients and be aerosolized and transported to vicinities during waste disposal ***,the characterization of pathogenic bioaerosols and assessment of their exposure risks are ***,particle size,concentration,activity,antibiotic resistance,and pathogenicity of airborne microorganisms were assessed in different sectors of a typical *** showed that active sector in downwind direction has the highest bioaerosol level(1234 CFU/m3),while residential area has the highest activity(14.82 mg/L).Botanical deodorizer from mist cannon can effectively remove *** bioaerosols can be inhaled into respiratory system till bronchi with sizes ranging from 2.1−3.3 and 3.3−4.7μ*** bacteria(Bacilli,Bacillus,and Burkholderia-Paraburkholderia)and allergenic fungi(Aspergillus,Cladosporium,and Curvularia)prevailed in *** high abundance of microbial volatile organic compounds(mVOCs)producing bioaerosols were detected,these mVOCs contributed little to odor issues in ***,surrounding areas have higher levels of antibiotic-resistance genes(ARGs)than inner landfill with tetC,acrB,acrF,mdtF,and bacA as dominant *** ARGs were significantly correlated with bacterial community,while environmental parameters mainly influenced fungal *** findings can assist in reducing and preventing respiratory allergy or infection risks in occupational environments relating to waste management.

Tetrabromobisphenol A(TBBPA)is a flame retardant that adversely affects the environment and human *** present study exposed HepG2 cells to low concentrations of TBBPA daily to investigate the changes in gene regulation,mainly related to pathways associated with the endocrine *** quantitative polymerase chain reaction(qPCR)confirmed that prolonged exposure gradually activated the thyroid hormone and parathyroid hormone signaling *** expression levels of genes related to the thyroid hormone signaling pathway were upregulated(1.15-8.54 times)after five generations of exposure to 1 and 81 nM ***,co-exposure to 81 nM TBBPA and 0.5 nM thyroid hormone receptor antagonist for five generations significantly reduced the expression of thyroid hormone and parathyroid hormone ***,81 nM TBBPA inhibited the activation of the Ras pathway and downregulated Ras gene expression level(3.7 times),indicating the association between the toxic effect and thyroid hormone ***,our experiments revealed that the thyroid hormone pathway regulated the induction of the Ras signaling pathway by *** study thus proves that daily exposure to TBBPA interferes with the thyroid hormone signaling pathway and subsequently the endocrine system.

[目的]深厚软土地层地下车站深基坑开挖施工过程中,坑内上覆土体的开挖卸载会对先行施工的坑内超长桩基产生较为明显的影响,威胁结构稳定和工程安全。为探究大面积深基坑开挖卸载对车站基坑底群桩的影响,须分析超长桩受力变形规律。[方法]利用Midas GTSNX数值分析软件,建立某地下车站S2东端头井有限元数值计算模型,进行开挖施工模拟分析。结合该地下车站项目施工现场实际监测数据,与数值计算结果进行对比,探讨了基坑开挖对坑底群桩变形影响的规律。[结果及结论]结果表明,桩身受拉区随着开挖深度不断增大,端头井桩基最大拉力、最大压力均大于标准段;坑底桩基竖向位移量在开挖过程中不断增加,位移最大的桩出现在距离端头井边缘最远处,且在开挖后期,桩基的上浮量增量显著提高,需要实时监控桩顶竖向位移量,防止发生工程事故。

Photocatalytic defluorination of perfluorooctanoic acid by surface defective BiOCl:Fast microwave solvothermal synthesis and photocatalytic mechanisms

There is an urgent need for developing cost-effective methods for the treatment of perfluorooctanoic acid(PFOA)due to its global emergence and potential *** this study,taking surface-defective BiOCl as an example,a strategy of surface oxygen vacancy modulation was used to promote the photocatalytic defluorination efficiency of PFOA under simulated sunlight *** defective BiOCl was fabricated by a fast microwave solvothermal method,which was found to induce more surface oxygen vacancies than conventional solvothermal and precipitation *** a result,the asprepared BiOCl showed significantly enhanced defluorination efficiency,which was 2.7 and33.8 times higher than that of BiOCl fabricated by conventional solvothermal and precipitation methods,*** studies indicated that the defluorination of PFOA follows a direct hole(h^+)oxidation pathway with the aid of·OH,while the oxygen vacancies not only promote charge separation but also facilitate the intimate contact between the photocatalyst surface and PFOA by coordinating with its terminal carboxylate group in a bidentate or bridging *** work will provide a general strategy of oxygen vacancy modulation by microwave-assisted methods for efficient photocatalytic defluorination of PFOA in the environment using sunlight as the energy source.

YL82B盘条抗拉强度和断面收缩率出现异常。将异常试样与正常试样进行对比,出现抗拉强度和断面收缩率异常的盘条金相组织、索氏体化率均无异常,符合国家相关标准要求,晶粒度小于正常试样;采用扫描电镜测量试样心部、直径1/4处、边部索氏体片层间距,发现异常试样都比正常试样的索氏体片层间距大;显微硬度测试发现,异常试样的显微硬度值均低于正常试样,正常试样索氏体片层间距小的位置显微硬度大。试验结果表明,YL82B盘条发生异常是因为晶粒较粗大、索氏体片层间距较大,力学性能受到影响,导致其抗拉强度和断面收缩率异常。

Retrieval of forest canopy height in a mountainous region with ICESat-2 ATLAS

Forest canopy height is one of the important forest parameters for accurately assessing forest biomass or carbon sequestration. ICESat-2 ATLAS provides the potential for retrieval of forest canopy height at global or regional scale, but the current canopy height product (ATL08) has coarse resolution and high uncertainty compared to airborne liDAR-derived canopy height (hereafter ALCH) in mountainous regions, and is not ready for such applications as biomass modeling at finer scale. The objective of this research was to explore the approach to accurately retrieve canopy height from ATLAS data by incorporating an airborne-derived digital terrain model(DTM) and a data-filtering strategy. By linking ATLAS ATL03 with ATL08 products, the geospatial locations,types, and (absolute) heights of photons were obtained, and canopy heights at different lengths (from 20 to 200 m at 20-m intervals) of segments along a track were computed with the aid of airborne liDAR DTM. Based on the relationship between the numbers of canopy photons within the segments and accuracy of ATLAS mean canopy height compared to ALCH, a filtering method for excluding a certain portion of unreliable segments was *** method was further applied to different ATLAS ground tracks for retrieval of canopy heights and the results were evaluated using corresponding ALCH. The results show that the incorporation of high-precision DTM and ATLAS products can considerably improve the retrieval accuracy of forest canopy height in mountainous *** the proposed filtering approach, the correlation coefficients (r) between ATLAS canopy height and corresponding ALCH were 0.61–0.91, 0.65–0.92, 0.68–0.94 for segment lengths of 20, 60, and 100 m, respectively;RMSE were 1.90–4.35, 1.55–3.63, and 1.34–3.23 m for the same segment lengths. Competing esterification and oligomerization reactions of typical long-chain alcohols to secondary organic aerosol formation

Organosulfate (OSA) nanoparticles,as secondary organic aerosol (SOA) compositions,are ubiquitous in urban and rural ***,we systemically investigated the mechanisms and kinetics of aqueous-phase reactions of 1-butanol/1-decanol (BOL/DOL) and their roles in the formation of OSA nanoparticles by using quantum chemical and kinetic *** mechanism results show that the aqueous-phase reactions of BOL/DOL start from initial protonation at alcoholic OH^(-)groups to form carbenium ions (CBs),which engage in the subsequent esterification or oligomerization reactions to form OSAs/organosulfites (OSIs) or *** kinetic results reveal that dehydration to form CBs for BOL and DOL reaction systems is the rate-limiting ***,about 18%of CBs occur via oligomerization to dimers,which are difficult to further oligomerize because all reactive sites are *** rate constant of BOL reaction system is one order of magnitude larger than that of DOL reaction system,implying that relative short-chain alcohols are more prone to contribute OSAs/OSIs than long-chain *** results reveal that typical long-chain alcohols contribute SOA formation via esterification rather than oligomerization because OSA/OSI produced by esterification engages in nanoparticle growth through enhancing hygroscopicity.

This paper reports an efficient method of preparing porous polymeric microspheres by solvent evaporation in foam phase,in which phase separation between polymer and porogen occurs in foam phase instead of that in water phase by using the traditional solvent eva poration *** method provides outstanding features,including being time-saving,of high-yield and able for continuous production,in which formation of porous polymeric microspheres finished within 3 min with a high production yield up to approximate 95 wt% and the process was able to be developed into a continuous process for production of porous polymeric *** was also universal to non-crosslinked polymers since the method is a development on the traditional emulsion solvent evaporation *** new method is efficient and can be used potentially on the industrial scale for continuous production of porous polymeric microsphere s.
