Numerical methods are developed to simulate the wave propagation in heterogeneous 2D fluid/poroelastic *** propagation is described by the usual acoustics equations(in the fluid medium)and by the low-frequency Biot’s equations(in the porous medium).Interface conditions are introduced to model various hydraulic contacts between the two media:open pores,sealed pores,and imperfect ***-posedness of the initial-boundary value problem is *** grid numerical methods previously developed in porous heterogeneous media are adapted to the present context:a fourth-order ADER scheme with Strang splitting for timemarching;a space-time mesh-refinement to capture the slow compressional wave predicted by Biot’s theory;and an immersed interface method to discretize the interface conditions and to introduce a subcell *** experiments and comparisons with exact solutions are proposed for the three types of interface conditions,demonstrating the accuracy of the approach.

Light absorption and scattering of plasmonic metal nanoparticles can lead to non-equilibrium charge carriers,intense electromagnetic near-fields,and heat generation,with promising applications in a vast range of fields,from chemical and physical sensing to nanomedicine and photocatalysis for the sustainable production of fuels and *** the relative contribution of thermal and non-thermal contributions in plasmon-driven processes is,however,*** temperature measurements are technically challenging,and macroscale experiments are often characterized by collective heating effects,which tend to make the actual temperature increase *** work is intended to help the reader experimentally detect and quantify photothermal effects in plasmon-driven chemical reactions,to discriminate their contribution from that due to photochemical processes and to cast a critical eye on the current *** this aim,we review,and in some cases propose,seven simple experimental procedures that do not require the use of complex or expensive thermal microscopy *** proposed procedures are adaptable to a wide range of experiments and fields of research where photothermal effects need to be assessed,such as plasmonic-assisted chemistry,heterogeneous catalysis,photovoltaics,biosensing,and enhanced molecular spectroscopy.

This paper presents a newly designed ultra-thin, lead-free, and all-inorganic solar cell structure. The structure was optimized using the SCAPS-1D simulator, incorporating solid-state layers arranged as n-graphene/CsSnGeI3/p-graphene. The objective was to investigate the potential of utilizing n-graphene as the electron transport layer and p-graphene as the hole transport layer to achieve maximum power conversion efficiency. Various materials for the electron transport layer were evaluated. The optimized cell structure achieved a maximum power conversion efficiency of 20.97%. The proposed solar cell structure demonstrates promising potential as an efficient, inorganic photovoltaic device. These findings provide important insights for developing and optimizing inorganic photovoltaic cells based on CsSnGeI3, with n-graphene electron transport layers and p-graphene hole transport layers.

Outcome of Acute Kidney Injury in Pregnancy in N’Djamena, Chad

Introduction: Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a relatively rare but serious complication during pregnancy. It is often the consequence of a delay or poor management of a given complication that constitutes as a public health problem in developing countries. The objective of our study was to determine the epidemiological, diagnostic, therapeutic and evolutionary aspects of obstetric acute kidney injury in Chad. Methodology: This was a cross-sectional study with descriptive and analytical aims over a period of 6 months from June 1, 2020 to November 30, 2020 and conducted in the Gyneco-Obstetric Emergency Department of the Mother and Child University Hospital in N’Djamena. All patients admitted for obstetric AKI and requiring hemodialysis were referred to the Nephrology Department of the Renaissance University Hospital. AKI was defined according to the KDIGO 2012 classification. All pregnant women with more than 20 weeks of gestation until immediately postpartum who were admitted for acute kidney injury were included in the study. Results: During our work, 1238 patients were collected. Among them, 56 cases of obstetric AKI were included, representing a hospital prevalence of 4.5%. The average age was 26.1 ± 5.8 years (16 and 37 years). The majority of our patients were primigravidas which was 42%, rural women represented 35.7% of our sample and nearly 67.8% of pregnancies did not benefit from regular prenatal consultation. AKI during the 3rd trimester was found in 42.9% of cases. Oligo-anuria was present in 28.6% of cases. Acute tubular necrosis was found in 52 cases. It was secondary to preeclampsia in 60.7%, to HELLP syndrome in 17.9% and to a hemorrhagic delivery complicating a retroplacental hematoma in 7.1%. According to the KDIGO 2012 classification, Stages 1, 2 and 3 represented 32%, 23% and 25% of cases, respectively. Hemodialysis was initiated in 1/4 of cases. Recovery of renal function was complete in 78.6% of cases and partial in 7.1%. We recorded eight (14.3%)

In the past 30 years,the life expectancy in China continues to rise yet at a slower pace because of,in large part,the heavy burden of chronic diseases on older age *** on data obtained from the United Nations World Population Prospects 2019 and the Global Burden of Disease Study 2019,this study applies Arriaga’s decomposition method to decompose the age/cause-specific contributions to life expectancy gap between China and South Korea during 1990-2019,which could provide understanding on mortality patterns and heavy burden by chronic disease resulting from an aging *** study has found that the life expectancy gap between these two countries for females has remained constant,while that of males has been increasing during the same *** finding is that non-communicable diseases,like cardiovascular diseases among the elderly(aged 60+),explain a large and enlarging part of the life expectancy gap between China and South Korea,especially among *** addition,maternal and neonatal disorders among children(age group 1-4ys)contribute less and less to life expectancy *** observations suggest a convergence of mortality pattern among younger age groups as well as the continued existence of substantial gaps among older age ***,given the precedent of South Korea,China should also take suicide as another issue with greater attention in the ***,this study concludes by suggesting targeted public health policies to reduce mortality in certain age groups and save more lives from certain diseases.

Purpose: Physical activity(PA) and sedentary behavior(SB) are increasingly considered independent health behaviors. Additionally, current research suggests that both controlled and automatic determinants account for their adoption. The purpose of this article was to identify intentionàautomaticity profiles toward PA and screen-based SB and to examine how those profiles are associated with different behavioral ***: Two cross-sectional studies based on self-report questionnaires were conducted with French high school students(Study 1: n = 198;Study 2: n = 185).Results: In all, 4 distinct motivational profiles appeared. The first 3 clusters emerged in both studies: "PA"(high levels of automaticity and intention for PA, low levels of automaticity and intention for screen-based SB); "screen"(high levels of automaticity and intention for screen-based SB, low levels of automaticity and intention for PA), and "mixed"(high levels of all variables), whereas the fourth cluster was observed only in Study 2: "high control"(below-mean levels of automaticity, high levels of intention toward both PA and screen-based SB). Adolescents with a screen profile displayed the least healthy behavioral pattern, whereas those in the PA profile demonstrated the most favorable ***: Future research is needed to extend these results to other populations using complementary assessment methods of automatic psychological processes and PA and SB behaviors.

In the present paper the increasing difficulty of diag-nosis of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome (ZES) due to issues raised in two recent papers is discussed. These issues involve the difficulty and need to withdraw patients suspected of ZES from treatment with Proton Pump Inhibitors (omeprazole, esomeprazole, lansoprazole, rabeprazole, pantoprazole) and the unreliability of many gastrin radioimmunoassays. The clinical context of each of these important issues is reviewed and the conclusions in these articles commented from the per-spective of clinical management.

Molecular dynamics(MD) simulations are performed to investigate the effects of stress on generalized stacking fault(GSF) energy of three fcc metals(Cu, Al, and Ni). The simulation model is deformed by uniaxial tension or compression in each of [111], [11-2], and [1-10] directions, respectively, before shifting the lattice to calculate the GSF curve. Simulation results show that the values of unstable stacking fault energy(γusf), stable stacking fault energy(γsf), and unstable twin fault energy(γutf) of the three elements can change with the preloaded tensile or compressive stress in different *** ratio of γsf/γusf, which is related to the energy barrier for full dislocation nucleation, and the ratio of γutf/γusf, which is related to the energy barrier for twinning formation are plotted each as a function of the preloading stress. The results of this study reveal that the stress state can change the energy barrier of defect nucleation in the crystal lattice, and thereby can play an important role in the deformation mechanism of nanocrystalline material.
