The potential application of low temperature plasma(LTP) in anticancer has attracted great attention from *** mechanism of plasma anticancer action may be related to the reactive oxygen and nitrogen oxygen species generated by *** aim of this study is to identify the inhibiting effects of hydrogen peroxide(H2 O2) induced through plasma-medium interaction on B16 melanoma cells cultured in *** this purpose,helium plasma jet is used to irradiate medium with different time,thereby generating plasma-activated medium(PAM),which is applied to the cancer cells ***(CAT) is added into PAM to degrade H2 O2 as intervention groups and pure H2 O2 is added into fresh medium as positive *** content of H2 O2 in medium and cell,cell morphology,cell viability,cell cycle distribution,apoptosis and DNA damage are detected with coumarin boronic acid fluorescence probe,inverted biological microscope observation,3-(4,5-Dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide(MTT)assay,flow cytometry,single cell geleletrophoresis and 8-hydroxy-2-deoxyguanosine(8-OHd G)ELISA kit,*** results show that the content of H2 O2 in PAM increases with prolongation of LTP treatment time after incubation for 0 h and 24 ***,the intracellular content does not change *** assay reveals that the PAM of 75 s treatment causes48.3% growth inhibition,but the rate of that with CAT intervention and H2 O2 group are 13.4%and 41.2%,*** cell morphology results show that the degree of cell damage in 75 s PAM group is equal with the cells in H2 O2 group,whereas the cells in CAT intervention group are *** cytometer results show that compared with control group,PAM with longer treatment times and pure H2 O2 can cause more cell arresting in G1 phase and *** CAT can prevent these changes in cell cycle and cell *** cell geleletrophoresis and8-OHd G assay show that CAT can protect DNA from H2 O2 ***

Atmospheric pressure cold plasma that contains numerous active components including electrons,ions and free radicals has been extensively researched as a promising anticancer treatment technology in recent *** is the most aggressive form of skin cancer with a high prevalence,a median overall survival of less than 2 years,and resistance to current modalities of cancer *** this work,an atmospheric pressure plasma jet(APPJ) with three electrodes in helium is utilized for treatment of murine melanoma caner cells and the oxidative stress in cells is *** a series of biological assay,it is showed that cell viability is decreased,the intracellular total antioxidant capability(T-AOC),malondialdehyde(MDA),reactive oxygen species(ROS) content and degree of DNA damage are increased in a time-dependent manner with10,30,60 s and 90 s plasma treatment compared with the control ***,cell cycle is arrested in G1 phase significantly after plasma *** pre-treatment of cell culture medium with N-acetylcysteine(NAC,which is a free radical scavenger),the decrease in cell viability,the increase of intracellular T-AOC,MDA,ROS content and degree of DNA damage can be prevented after plasma *** results suggest that plasma exerted cytotoxic effects by causing oxidative stress-induced damage to cellular components.

Several studies have found that transplantation of neural progenitor cells(NPCs)promotes the survival of injured ***,a poor integration rate and high risk of tumorigenicity after cell transplantation limits their clinical *** extracellular vesicles(sEVs)contain bioactive molecules for neuronal protection and *** studies have shown that stem/progenitor cell-derived sEVs can promote neuronal survival and recovery of neurological function in neurodegenerative eye diseases and other eye *** this study,we intravitreally transplanted sEVs derived from human induced pluripotent stem cells(hiPSCs)and hiPSCs-differentiated NPCs(hiPSC-NPC)in a mouse model of optic nerve *** results show that these intravitreally injected sEVs were ingested by retinal cells,especially those localized in the ganglion cell *** with hiPSC-NPC-derived sEVs mitigated optic nerve crush-induced retinal ganglion cell degeneration,and regulated the retinal microenvironment by inhibiting excessive activation of *** analysis further revealed that hiPSC-NPC derived sEVs transported neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory miRNA cargos to target cells,which had protective effects on RGCs after optic nerve *** findings suggest that sEVs derived from hiPSC-NPC are a promising cell-free therapeutic strategy for optic neuropathy.

The operation of aqueous zinc-ion batteries in flexible energy storage field is plagued by the uncontrollable growth of Zn-dendrite and inevitable freeze of water below 0 ℃.Therefore,it is necessary to design a hydrogel electrolyte with good mechanical property and freezing resistance to uniform the Zn-deposition and resist flexibility loss at low *** find that the mechanical property(strength and toughness)of hydrogel electrolyte has a significant impact on the suppression of dendrite growth and the uniform deposition of zinc ***,a polyacrylate hydrogel is prepared in one step by ultraviolet(UV)curing method with Zn(CF_(3)SO_(3))_(2)salt and polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)addition to increase the antifreezing ability and mechanical *** adsorption of water molecules by 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate(HEA)and PVA reduces the freezing point of the hydrogel,which is beneficial for enhancing the electrochemical stability at low *** this basis,the Zn-symmetrical battery with hydrogel electrolyte has a long lifespan of 4710 h at 0.5 mA·cm^(-2)and 0.5 mAh·cm^(-2)at room ***,the hydrogel electrolyte exhibits an outstanding stability at low temperature of^(-2)0 ℃,the lifespan of symmetrical battery reaches to 4000 h at 0.5 mA·cm^(-2)and 0.5 mAh·cm^(-2).The assembled full cell with NaV3O8·1.5H_(2)O(NVO)cathode and hydrogel electrolyte possesses a high capacity retention ratio of 77%after 10,000 cycles at^(-2)0 ℃.The flexible cell can power light-emitting diode(LED)lamp under bending,warping and cutting without liquid leakage and an electronic watch at the operating temperature of^(-2)0 ℃.

Objective:The objective of the study is to examine the possible mechanism by which Guasha(scraping therapy)affects the expression profiles of proteins in a lumbar disc herniation(LDH)rat model using isobaric tags for relative and absolute quantitation(iTRAQ)-based ***:Thirty-six rats were used in this *** rats were subjected to noncompressive LDH *** were randomly divided into the model and Guasha *** was applied on alternate days for a total of nine times(three courses).At the end of each course,six rats were randomly selected from each group and their blood samples were *** labeling was used to examine the mechanism of action of Guasha against *** molecular functions,cellular components,and biological processes were analyzed using gene ontology *** Ingenuity Pathway Analysis database was used to identify canonical pathways involving these ***:Compared to the model group,198,182,and 170 proteins were identified as differentially expressed at the three respective Guasha treatment ***,including focal adhesion kinase signaling,acute-phase response signaling,and the LXR/RXR activation pathway,were closely related to the effects of Guasha in LDH ***,Rac1,Orm1,and Hpx were validated by western blotting,and the results were consistent with the protein expression levels observed using the iTRAQ ***:Guasha could not only regulate the pathological changes related to LDH,but also achieve therapeutic effects by stimulating physiological *** results offer a better understanding of the effects of Guasha on LDH.

BACKGROUND Primary squamous cell carcinoma(SCC)of the renal parenchyma is extremely rare,with only nine cases *** SUMMARY This study reports a 51-year-old man with primary SCC of the renal *** patient was admitted with recurrent dull pain and discomfort in the right lumbar region,which had worsened over 2 weeks,accompanied by painful gross *** antigen(SCCA)levels were elevated,and imaging revealed a renal mass with associated *** patient underwent laparoscopic unilateral nephrectomy and lymph node *** pathology confirmed highly differentiated SCC with necrosis in the right renal parenchyma,with negative renal pelvis and *** pathological stage was *** months after surgery,the tumor recurred with involvement of the liver,right psoas major muscle,and inferior vena *** patient refused chemotherapy and succumbed to the disease 6 months postoperatively due to disease *** We report a case of primary SCC of the renal parenchyma,a rare renal *** clinical symptoms,laboratory tests,and imaging findings are nonspecific,making accurate and timely diagnosis *** to the literature,for patients with renal calculi accompanied by a renal mass,elevated serum SCCA levels,and magnetic resonance imaging showing cystic or cystic-solid masses within the kidney with pseudocapsules and heterogeneous mild enhancement,the possibility of this disease should be considered.

AIM: To assess the diagnostic value of computed tomography (CT) imaging in screening for abdominal nonhematogenous disseminated tuberculous lymphadenopathy (TL). METHODS: The CT scans of 12 patients with abdominal nonhematogenous disseminated TL suggestive of neoplasm were retrospectively analyzed in this review. The final diagnoses were confirmed by lymph node pathology for seven patients and by laparoscopic surgery for five patients. All of the patients were treated at our institution between April 1995 and August 2009. RESULTS: The sites of involvement were the periportal (n = 6), peripancreatic (n = 3), periaortic (n = 3), and mesenteric (n = 2) regions. On the plain CT scan, the lymphadenopathy showed a heterogeneous isodensity or hypodensity in 11 patients and a low density in one patient. Peripheral enhancement was observed on the dynamic contrast-enhanced CT scans for all patients. In two cases, scans were more revealing during the portal venous and delayed phases. CONCLUSION: Abdominal lymphadenopathy with predominant peripheral rim-like enhancement on the dynamic contrast-enhanced CT scan may suggest a diagnosis of TL.
