Relationship between Ki-67 and CD44 expression and microvascular formation in gastric stromal tumor tissues

BACKGROUND A gastric stromal tumor(GST)is a mesenchymal tumor that occurs in the gastrointestinal tract;its biological characteristics are highly ***,the severity of a GST is often evaluated by factors such as risk classification,tumor size,and mitotic ***,these indicators are not very *** patients classified as low risk are also at risk of metastasis and ***,more accurate and objective clinical biological behavior evaluations are urgently *** To determine the relationship between Ki-67 and CD44 expression in GSTs and microvessel formation and *** Eighty-six GST tissue specimens from our hospital were selected for this *** immunohistochemical staining technique was used to detect Ki-67,CD44,and microvessel density(MVD)in the collected samples to analyze the different risk grades and mitotic *** addition,this approach was used to determine the differences in the expression of Ki-67 and CD44 in GST tissues with varying lesion *** In GSTs with positive expression of the Ki-67 protein,the proportions of patients with medium-to-high risk and more than five mitotic counts were 24.07%and 38.89%,*** GSTs with positive expression of the CD44 protein,the proportions of patients with medium-to-high risk and more than five mitotic counts were 23.73%and 38.98%,*** GSTs with negative expression of the Ki-67 protein,these values were relatively high(3.70%and 11.11%,respectively).The MVD in GSTs with positive and negative expression of the CD44 protein was 15.92±2.94 and 13.86±2.98/Hp,respectively;the difference between the two groups was significant(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Ki-67 and CD44 expression in GSTs is correlated with the grade of tumor risk and mitotic ***44 expression is correlated with microvessel formation in tumor tissues.

Multi-model ensemble learning for battery state-of-health estimation:Recent advances and perspectives

The burgeoning market for lithium-ion batteries has stimulated a growing need for more reliable battery performance monitoring. Accurate state-of-health(SOH) estimation is critical for ensuring battery operational performance. Despite numerous data-driven methods reported in existing research for battery SOH estimation, these methods often exhibit inconsistent performance across different application scenarios. To address this issue and overcome the performance limitations of individual data-driven models,integrating multiple models for SOH estimation has received considerable attention. Ensemble learning(EL) typically leverages the strengths of multiple base models to achieve more robust and accurate outputs. However, the lack of a clear review of current research hinders the further development of ensemble methods in SOH estimation. Therefore, this paper comprehensively reviews multi-model ensemble learning methods for battery SOH estimation. First, existing ensemble methods are systematically categorized into 6 classes based on their combination strategies. Different realizations and underlying connections are meticulously analyzed for each category of EL methods, highlighting distinctions, innovations, and typical applications. Subsequently, these ensemble methods are comprehensively compared in terms of base models, combination strategies, and publication trends. Evaluations across 6 dimensions underscore the outstanding performance of stacking-based ensemble methods. Following this, these ensemble methods are further inspected from the perspectives of weighted ensemble and diversity, aiming to inspire potential approaches for enhancing ensemble performance. Moreover, addressing challenges such as base model selection, measuring model robustness and uncertainty, and interpretability of ensemble models in practical applications is emphasized. Effect of lamellarization on the microstructure and mechanical properties of marine 10Ni5CrMoV steel

Multistage heat treatment involving quenching(Q),lamellarizing(L),and tempering(T)is applied to marine 10Ni5CrMoV *** microstructure and mechanical properties were studied by multiscale characterizations,and the kinetics of reverse austenite transformation,strain hardening behavior,and toughening mechanism were further *** lamellarized specimens possess low yield strength but high toughness,especially cryogenic *** leads to the development of film-like reversed austenite at the martensite block and lath boundaries,refining the martensite structure and lowering the equivalent grain *** analysis of austenite reversion based on the JMAK model shows that the isothermal transformation is dominated by the growth of reversed austenite,and the maximum transformation of reversed austenite is reached at the peak temperature(750℃).The strain hardening behavior based on the modified Crussard-Jaoul analysis indicates that the reversed austenite obtained from lamellarization reduces the proportion of martensite,significantly hindering crack propagation via martensitic transformation during the *** a consequence,the QLT specimens exhibit high machinability and low yield *** with the QT specimen,the ductile-brittle transition temperature of the QLT specimens decreases from-116 to-130℃due to the low equivalent grain size and reversed austenite,which increases the cleavage force required for crack propagation and absorbs the energy of external load,*** work provides an idea to improve the cryogenic toughness of marine 10Ni5CrMoV steel and lays a theoretical foundation for its industrial application and comprehensive performance improvement.

Induced neural stem cells regulate microglial activation through Akt-mediated upregulation of CXCR4 and Crry in a mouse model of closed head injury

Microglial activation that occurs rapidly after closed head injury may play important and complex roles in neuroinflammation-associated neuronal damage and *** previously reported that induced neural stem cells can modulate the behavior of activated microglia via CXCL12/CXCR4 signaling,influencing their activation such that they can promote neurological ***,the mechanism of CXCR4 upregulation in induced neural stem cells remains *** this study,we found that nuclear factor-κB activation induced by closed head injury mouse serum in microglia promoted CXCL12 and tumor necrosis factor-αexpression but suppressed insulin-like growth factor-1 ***,recombinant complement receptor 2-conjugated Crry(CR2-Crry)reduced the effects of closed head injury mouse serum-induced nuclear factor-κB activation in microglia and the levels of activated microglia,CXCL12,and tumor necrosis factor-α.Additionally,we observed that,in response to stimulation(including stimulation by CXCL12 secreted by activated microglia),CXCR4 and Crry levels can be upregulated in induced neural stem cells via the interplay among CXCL12/CXCR4,Crry,and Akt signaling to modulate microglial *** agreement with these in vitro experimental results,we found that Akt activation enhanced the immunoregulatory effects of induced neural stem cell grafts on microglial activation,leading to the promotion of neurological recovery via insulin-like growth factor-1 secretion and the neuroprotective effects of induced neural stem cell grafts through CXCR4 and Crry upregulation in the injured cortices of closed head injury ***,these beneficial effects of Akt activation in induced neural stem cells were positively correlated with the therapeutic effects of induced neural stem cells on neuronal injury,cerebral edema,and neurological disorders post–closed head *** conclusion,our findings reveal that Akt activation may enhance the immunoregulatory effects of induced neura

Highly conjugated multiwalled carbon nanotube-quantum dot heterojunctions were synthesized by ethylene carbodiimide coupling procedure. The functional multiwalled carbon nanotube with carboxylic groups on sidewall could react with the amino group of L-cysteine capped CdSe quantum dots and then resulted in nanotube-quantum dot heterojunctions. Scanning electron microscopy was used to characterize the heterojunctions.

A high performance approach for solving the high voltage direct current ion flow field problem by tensor-structured finite element method

In order to achieve high performance for solving the ion flow field problem,an approach is proposed with the tensor-structured finite element method(FEM)to accelerate the Newton *** Poisson equation and the continuity equation are reformulated into the tensor expressions,*** element level evaluation phase is decomposed into the concatenated tensor contraction operations,which is implemented by the highly optimised arithmetic operation provided in *** contrast to the traditional implemented FEM,the tensor-structured FEM has significantly improved the throughput and achieved high *** accuracy and efficiency of the tensorbased algorithm are verified under the unipolar and bipolar model,*** tensor-based algorithm provides one order of magnitude speedup over the traditional algorithm in the elemental evaluation phase.‘Tensorization’is an efficient way to bridge the algorithm and the hardware.

Serum interleukin-34 level can be an indicator of liver fibrosis in patients with chronic hepatitis B virus infection

AIM To investigate whether serum interleukin(IL)-34 levels are correlated with hepatic inflammation and fibrosis in patients with chronic hepatitis B virus(HBV) infection. METHODS In this study, serum IL-34 levels were assessed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay in 19 healthy controls and 175 patients with chronic HBV infection undergoing biopsy. The frequently used serological markers of liver fibrosis were based on laboratory indexes measured at the Clinical Laboratory of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University. Liver stiffness was detected by transient elastography with Fibro Touch. The relationships of non-invasive makers of liver fibrosis and IL-34 levels with inflammation and fibrosis were analyzed. The diagnostic value of IL-34 and other liver fibrosis makers wereevaluated using areas under the receiver operating characteristic curves, sensitivity and *** Serum IL-34 levels were associated with inflammatory activity in the liver, and IL-34 levels differed among phases of chronic HBV infection(P = 0.001). By comparing serum IL-34 levels among patients with various stages of liver fibrosis determined by liver biopsy, we found that IL-34 levels ≥ 15.83 pg/m L had a high sensitivity of 86.6% and a specificity of 78.7% for identifying severe fibrosis(S3-S4). Furthermore, we showed that IL-34 is superior to the fibrosis-4 score, one of the serum makers of liver fibrosis, in identifying severe liver fibrosis and early cirrhosis in patients with HBV-related liver fibrosis in *** Our results indicate that IL-34, a cytokine involved in the induction of activation of profibrogenic macrophages, can be an indicator of liver inflammation and fibrosis in patients with chronic HBV infection.

One new nonadride derivative rubratoxin C （1） together with a known compound rubratoxin B （2） were isolated from an endophytic fungus Penicillium sp. F-14. Their structures were elucidated by various spectroscopic methods. Bioassays showed that 2 had moderate cytotoxic effect against HCT-8, BEL-7402, Ketr3, A2780, MCF-7 and BGC-823 human cancer cell lines, and 1 exhibited weak activity.

Association between TLR7 copy number variations and hepatitis B virus infection outcome in Chinese

AIM To explore whether copy number variations (CNVs) of toll-like receptor 7 (TLR7) are associated with susceptibility to chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. METHODS This study included 623 patients (495 males and 128 females) with chronic hepatitis B virus infection (CHB) and 300 patients (135 females and 165 males) with acute hepatitis B virus infection (AHB) as controls. All CHB patients were further categorized according to disease progression after HBV infection (CHB, liver cirrhosis, or hepatocellular carcinoma). Copy numbers of the TLR7 gene were measured using the AccuCopy method chi(2) tests were used to evaluate the association between TLR7 CNVs and infection type. P values, odds ratios, and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were used to estimate the effects of risk. RESULTS Among male patients, there were significant differences between the AHB group and CHB group in the distribution of TLR7 CNVs. Low copy numberof TLR7 was significantly associated with chronic HBV infection (OR = 0.329, 95% CI: 0.229-0.473, P > 0.001). Difference in TLR7 copy number was also found between AHB and CHB female patients, with low copy number again associated with an increased risk of chronic HBV infection (OR = 0.292, 95% CI: 0.173- 0.492, P < 0.001). However, there were no significant differences in TLR7 copy number among the three types of chronic HBV infection (CHB, liver cirrhosis, or hepatocellular carcinoma). In addition, there was no association between TLR7 copy number and titer of the HBV e antigen. CONCLUSION Low TLR7 copy number is a risk factor for chronic HBV infection but is not associated with later stages of disease progression.
