Prevalence of Congenital Heart Disease among Infants from 2012 to 2014 in Langfang, China

Background： Congenital heart disease （CHD） is the most common congenital malformations with high mortality and morbidity. The prevalence of CHD reported previously ranged from 4 per 1000 live births to 50 per 1000 live births. In this cross-sectional study, we aimed to document the prevalence of CHD in Langfang district of Hebei Province, China by analyzing data collected by hospitals located in 11 the counties of the district, as supported by a public health campaign. Methods： A total of 67,718 consecutive 3-month-old infants were included from July 19,2012 to July 18, 2014. Structural abnormalities were diagnosed based on echocardiography findings, including two-dimensional and color Doppler echocardiography results. Results： Of the 67,718 infants, 1554 were found to have cardiac structural abnormalities. The total prevalence of CHD was 22.9 per 1000 live births, a value significantly higher than the previously reported prevalence of 8 cases per 1000 live births. The top five most common cardiac abnormalities were as follows： atrial septal defect （ASD, 605 cases, 8.93‰）; ventricular septal defect （550 cases, 8.12‰）; patent ductus arteriosus （228 cases, 3.37‰）; pulmonary stenosis （66 cases, 0.97‰）; and tetralogy of Fallot （32 cases, 0.47‰）. The CHD prevalence differed by gender in this study （x^2 = 23.498, P 〈 0.001）, and the majority of ASD cases were females. Regional differences in prevalence were also found （x^2 = 24.602, P 〈 0.001）; a higher prevalence was found in urban areas （32.2 cases per 1000 live births） than in rural areas （21. 1 cases per 1000 live births）. There was a significant difference in the prevalence of CHD in preterm versus full-term infants （x^2 - 133.443, P 〈 0.001 ）. Prevalence of CHD in infants of maternal aged 35 years or over was significantly higher （x^2 86.917, P 〈 0.001）. Adipose tissue-derived stem cells ameliorates dermal fibrosis in mouse models of scleroderma

Objective: To investigate the therapeutic potential of adipose-derived stern cells (ADSCs) for limited cutaneous scleroderma (LS) in mouse models. Methods: ADSCs were isolated from pathogen-free female C57BL/6 mice and LS was induced in wild type (WT) C57BL/6 mice via daily injection of bleomycin (0.1 mL x 300 mu g/mL) for 4 weeks; then the ADSCs were subcutaneously injected into the dorsal area in the model treatment group, and 100 mu L of phosphate buffered saline (PBS) solution was injected into the same site in the model control group. Green fluorescent protein (GFP) was used to track the cells using an in vivo imaging system on days 7, 14, 21 and 28 after transplantation. All mice were sacrificed and histologic analyses were performed after 4 weeks, and the skin thickness, collagen deposition and the total content of hydroxyproline were evaluated. Additionally, immunohistochemistry were performed to compare the tissue expression and distribution of TGF-beta 1 and VEGF between the ADSCs treatment group and the treatment control group. Results: WT C57BL/6 LS mouse model were successfully established and GFP in vivo fluorescence imaging showed that the translated ADSCs survived at the local for at least 4 weeks. Compared with the control group, the ADSCs treatment group significantly attenuated bleomycin-induced dermal fibrosis, reduced the skin thickness and the total content of hydroxyproline (P<0.05). The ADSCs treatment group displayed significantly lower levels of TGF-beta 1 and higher levels of VEGF than the control group (P<0.05). Conclusions: ADSCs may provide a feasible and practical treatment for autoimmune diseases such as LS and ameliorate dermal fibrosis.

Error-based adaptive optimal tracking control of nonlinear discrete-time systems

In this paper,for the output tracking problem of nonlinear discrete-time systems,a performance index is newly defined using the adaptive dynamic programming(ADP) technique to completely eliminate tracking errors in *** contrast to traditional definitions of performance indices in other ADP-based methods,the proposed performance index is not only designed from the perspective of output tracking errors but also introduced errors of system states and control inputs at adjacent stages,which is suitable for practical situations in many industrial applications,such as the alumina production,the flotation process,and the mineral grinding *** proved that the obtained controller can make the system output fully track the given reference trajectory by applying the iterative criteria of the ADP *** addition,the proposed algorithm was implemented using a data-driven technique and neural networks to avoid analyzing and deducing the complicated dynamics of actual industrial ***,using historical data for a forced-circulation evaporation system in the alumina production process,the effect of the proposed approach was verified through a numerical simulation and compared with that of the proportional-integral controller.

Increased retinal venule diameter as a prognostic indicator for recurrent cerebrovascular events:a prospective observational study

Three-dimensional geochemical modeling of ore-forming elements is crucial for predicting deep *** approach provides key information for the quantitative prediction of deep mineral localization,three-dimensional fine interpolation,analysis of spatial distribution patterns,and extraction of quantitative mineral-seeking *** Yechangping molybdenum(Mo)deposit is a significant and extensive porphyry-skarn deposit in the East Qinling-Dabie Mo polymetallic metallogenic belt at the southern margin of the North China *** borehole data on oreforming elements underpin deep geochemical *** methodology includes the following steps:(1)Threedimensional geological modeling of the deposit was established.(2)Correlation,cluster,and factor analyses post delineation of mineralization stages and determination of mineral generation sequence to identify(Cu,Pb,Zn,Ag)and(Mo,W,mfe)assemblages.(3)A three-dimensional geochemical block model was constructed for Mo,W,mfe,Cu,Zn,Pb,and Ag using the ordinary kriging method,and the variational function was developed.(4)Spatial distribution and enrichment characteristics analysis of ore-forming elements are performed to extract geological information,employing the variogram and w(Cu+Pb+Zn+Ag)/w(Mo+W)as predictive indicators.(5)Identifying the western,northwestern,and southwestern areas of the mine with limited mineralization potential,contrasted by the northeastern and southeastern areas favorable for mineral exploration.

Disposal of zinc extraction residues via iron ore sintering process:an innovative resource utilization

Zinc extraction residue,a solid waste generated from the treatment of zinc-containing dust in rotary kilns,is commonly stockpiled in steel companies for extended *** poses significant disposal challenges and environmental pollution *** far,research on the treatment of zinc extraction residues has been slow,inadequate,and *** this gap,a novel approach was proposed to effectively treat the zinc extraction residue via the iron ore sintering *** was feasible to add 1 wt.%of zinc extraction residues to the sintering raw *** more adequate mineralization reaction resulted in higher yield and tumbler indexes,despite a slight decrease in sintering *** this may result in a slight decrease in sintering speed,the more complete mineralization reaction leads to improved sintering yield and tumbler ***,the addition of zinc extraction residues reduced the CO and NO_(x) concentrations in the sintering flue ***,the iron ore sintering process provided a viable solution for resource utilization and environmentally friendly treatment of zinc extraction residues.

Wideband Circularly Polarized Substrate-Integrated Waveguide Aperture-Coupled Metasurface Antenna Array for Millimeter-Wave Applications

A wideband circularly polarized(CP) aperture-coupled metasurface antenna operating at millimeterwave frequency spectrum in substrate-integrated waveguide(SIW) technology is proposed. Such a proposed metasurface antenna is composed of two substrates. The first substrate contains an end-shorted SIW section with a slot etched. The introduced metasurface is printed on the top of the second substrate. The metasurface is comprised of3 × 3 unit cells, each of which contains two interconnected patches and two parasitic patches. The working mechanism of the proposed metasurface antenna is illustrated in details. The proposed metasurface antenna has wide impedance bandwidth and axial ratio(AR) bandwidth, which are 66.7% and 40%, respectively. Using the proposed metasurface antenna, a 4 × 4 CP metasurface antenna array with an impedance bandwidth of 24%, an AR bandwidth of 30%, and a peak gain of 18.7 dBic in simulation is developed in this paper for millimeter-wave applications.
