Hydrothermal pretreatment of protein-rich substrate:Modified physicochemical properties and consequent responses in its anaerobic digestion

Wasted tofu rich in protein was subject to hydrothermal pretreatment(HTPT)under different conditions(at 120,140,160 and 180℃;for 0,30,60 and 90 min)followed by biochemical methane potential(BMP)tests,and 140℃and 0 min were found to be respectively the best temperature and duration for HTPT of tofu in terms of its biogas *** the under the optimal conditions(140℃,0 min)the accumulative methane yield reached up to 510.9 mL⋅(gVS)-1,which was 26.98%higher than that without HTPT(402.3 mL⋅(gVS)-1).The start-up process of continuous anerobic digestion(AD)of the tofu before and after hydrothermal treated(HT)at the optimal HTPT conditions(140℃,0 min)was examined,to investigate and compare how their consequent AD responded to *** was found that,for start-up of continuous AD,the HT tofu delivered more balanced nutrients and thus led to more stable AD and quicker biogas ***,HTPT generated products refractory to biodegradation,to slightly decrease the total biogas *** AD of HT tofu some weak ammonia-tolerant microbes,such as methylotrophic methanogens,survived and played indispensable *** of living microbial community structure indicated that,some hydrolytic acidification bacteria intolerant to ammonia nitrogen(such as Proteobacteria)were always active and appeared at high *** viable methylotrophic methanogens,*** M2,took obvious responsibilities in start-up of the AD for HT tofu.

In the present research,the gas-assisted laser(GAL)and water-jet guided laser(WGL)processing technologies were applied to machine the ultrathin kerf in the wrought Ti-6Al-4V *** microstructure,microhardness,and wear properties of the superficial layer were *** results reveal that the GAL processing could machine the kerf with a high depth-to-width ratio of 12–15,but the increased processing times enhance the depth *** to the oxygen entrainment and relatively low heat and mass transferring efficiency,the assisted gas promotes the formation of a scaled recast layer containingβ-Ti phase and oxides,which increases the roughness to 20μ*** WGL processed kerf has a low depth-to-width ratio with a value of 1.9–2.5 and the depth could be increased by increasing the WGL processing *** the assistance of the water jet,the remelted debris and heat could be eliminated immediately,which restrains the formation of the recast layer and heat-affected *** ultrathin oxide outer layer with hundreds of nanometers and ultrafineα-Ti grain inner layer are formed on the surface,which decreases the roughness to 12μ*** with the as-received Ti-6Al-4V alloy,the microhardness of GAL processed kerf surface is increased to 382.8 HV accompanied by residual tensile stress,while the microhardness of WGL processed kerf surface is increased to 481.6 HV accompanying with residual compressive *** addition,the GAL processing increases the wear rate at room temperature but decreases the wear rate at high ***,the WGL processing decreases the wear rate at room and high temperatures,*** wear behaviors could be ascribed to their different superficial microstructures and phase constituents.

Combustion of herb residues(HRs)for heat recovery is a good way for their utilization,but there exists such a problem as high concentration NOx emission in flue *** alcohol extracted herb residue(AEHR),one special type of HRs,was chosen as the object and was subjected to immediate combustion in a fluidized bed reactor to investigate the characteristics of its resulting NOx *** results showed that,most of the NOx in the flue gas was produced from the char nitrogen(C-N);as the fuel water content increased,the NOx emission concentration exhibited a trend of first decreasing and then increasing;and a properly low combustion temperature inhibited the NOx emission upon the premise of ensuring full *** staging combustion was adopted to effectively control NOx:the NOx emission concentration in the flue gas was reduced to 296 mg⋅m􀀀3 and the NOx emission reduction rate reached 46.51%compared to conventional ***-combustion by blending wasted activated coke(WAC)into the AEHR helped both stabilize the combustion state and reduce further the NOx *** the blending ratio of WAC fell within a proper range of 20-30%,the NOx emission concentration in the flue gas was as low as 231.4 mg⋅m􀀀*** addition to the dilution effect of the combustion flue gas of the blended WAC,the local reducing atmosphere caused by its incomplete combustion as well as its strong absorbability and catalytical effect was accountable for the further decrease of the NOx emission concentration.

Remotely Operated Vehicle（ROV） need to maintain the stability of the ROV body as much as possible to achieve efficient operation,so the ROV dynamic positioning technology is essential.A new multivariable fast nonsingular terminal sliding mode control（MFNTSM） method is proposed for the problem that global convergence of the nonsingular terminal sliding mode control（NTSM） method is *** six-degree-of-freedom motion model of our ROV is established based on the hydrodynamic coefficients calculated by the pool experiment and numerical ***,the new sliding mode controller（MFNTSM） is simulated and compared with the NTSM under the condition of static water and *** results show that the MFNTSM controller has better convergence speed and better robust performance than the NTSM controller in the dynamic positioning system.

Estimating High-Order Functional Connectivity Networks for Mild Cognitive Impairment Identification Based on Topological Structure

Functional connectivity networks (FCNs) are important in the diagnosis of neurological diseases and the understanding of brain tissue patterns. Recently, many methods, such as Pearson’s correlation (PC), Sparse representation (SR), and Sparse low-rank representation have been proposed to estimate FCNs. Despite their popularity, they only capture the low-order connections of the brain regions, failing to encode more complex relationships (i.e. , high-order relationships). Although researchers have proposed high-order methods, like PC + PC and SR + SR, aiming to build FCNs that can reflect more real state of the brain. However, such methods only consider the relationships between brain regions during the FCN construction process, neglecting the potential shared topological structure information between FCNs of different subjects. In addition, the low-order relationships are always neglected during the construction of high-order FCNs. To address these issues, in this paper we proposed a novel method, namely Ho-FCNTops, towards estimating high-order FCNs based on brain topological structure. Specifically, inspired by the Group-constrained sparse representation (GSR), we first introduced a prior assumption that all subjects share the same topological structure in the construction of the low-order FCNs. Subsequently, we employed the Correlation-reserved embedding (COPE) to eliminate noise and redundancy from the low-order FCNs. Meanwhile, we retained the original low-order relationships during the embedding process to obtain new node representations. Finally, we utilized the SR method on the obtained new node representations to construct the Ho-FCNTops required for disease identification. To validate the effectiveness of the proposed method, experiments were conducted on 137 subjects from the Alzheimer’s Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI) database to identify Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) patients from the normal controls.
