The ability to identify a specific type of leukemia using minimally invasive biopsies holds great promise to improve the diagnosis,treatment selection,and prognosis prediction of patients.Using genome-wide methylation profiling and machine learning methods,we investigated the utility of CpG methylation status to differentiate blood from patients with acute lymphocytic leukemia(ALL)or acute myelogenous leukemia(AML)from normal blood.We established a CpG methylation panel that can distinguish ALL and AML blood from normal blood as well as ALL blood from AML blood with high sensitivity and specificity.We then developed a methylation-based survival classifier with 23 CpGs for ALL and 20 CpGs for AML that could successfully divide patients into high-risk and low-risk groups,with significant differences in clinical outcome in each leukemia type.Together,these findings demonstrate that methylation profiles can be highly sensitive and specific in the accurate diagnosis of ALL and AML,with implications for the prediction of prognosis and treatment selection.

An emerging direction of quantum computing is to establish meaningful quantum applications in various fields of artificial intelligence, including natural language processing(NLP). Although some efforts based on syntactic analysis have opened the door to research in quantum NLP(QNLP), limitations such as heavy syntactic preprocessing and syntax-dependent network architecture make them impracticable on larger and real-world data sets. In this paper, we propose a new simple network architecture, called the quantum selfattention neural network(QSANN), which can compensate for these limitations. Specifically, we introduce the self-attention mechanism into quantum neural networks and then utilize a Gaussian projected quantum self-attention serving as a sensible quantum version of self-attention. As a result, QSANN is effective and scalable on larger data sets and has the desirable property of being implementable on near-term quantum devices. In particular, our QSANN outperforms the best existing QNLP model based on syntactic analysis as well as a simple classical self-attention neural network in numerical experiments of text classification tasks on public data sets. We further show that our method exhibits robustness to low-level quantum noises and showcases resilience to quantum neural network architectures.

Bubble dynamics properties play a crucial and significant role in the design and optimization of gas-solid fluidized beds.In this study,the bubble dynamics properties of four B-particles were investigated in a quasi-two-dimensional(quasi-2D)fluidized bed,including bubble equivalent diameter,bubble size distribution,average bubble density,bubble aspect ratio,bubble hold-up,bed expansion ratio,bubble radial position,and bubble velocity.The studies were performed by computational particle fluid dynamics(CPFD)numerical simulation and post-processed with digital image analysis(DIA)technique,at superficial gas velocities ranging from 2u_(mf) to 7u_(mf).The simulated results shown that the CPFD simulation combining with DIA technique post-processing could be used as a reliable method for simulating bubble dynamics properties in quasi-2D gas-solid fluidized beds.However,it seemed not desirable for the simulation of bubble motion near the air distributor at higher superficial gas velocity from the simulated average bubble density distribution.The superficial gas velocity significantly affected the bubble equivalent diameter and evolution,while it had little influence on bubble size distribution and bubble aspect ratio distribution for the same particles.Both time-averaged bubble hold-up and bed expansion ratio increased with the increase of superficial gas velocity.Two core-annular flow structures could be found in the fluidized bed for all cases.The average bubble rising velocity increased with the increasing bubble equivalent diameter.For bubble lateral movement,the smaller bubbles might be more susceptible,and superficial gas velocity had a little influence on the absolute lateral velocity of bubbles.The simulated results presented a valuable and novel approach for studying bubble dynamics properties.The comprehensive understanding of bubble dynamics behaviors in quasi-2D gas-solid fluidized beds would provide support in the design,operation,and optimization of gas-solid fluidized bed reactors.

Dynamic Modeling of Key Operating Parameters for Supercritical Circulating Fluidized Bed Units based on Data-Knowledge-Driven Method

To address the pressing need for intelligent and efficient control of circulating fluidized bed(CFB)units,it is crucial to develop a dynamic model for the key operating parameters of supercritical circulating fluidized bed(SCFB)units.Therefore,data-knowledge-driven dynamic model of bed temperature,load,and main steam pressure of the SCFB unit has been proposed.Firstly,a knowledge-driven method is employed to develop a dynamic model for key operating parameters of SCFB units.The model parameters are determined based on the operating data of the unit and continuously optimized in real time.Then,Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory combined with Convolutional Neural Network and Attention Mechanism is utilized to build the dynamic model of bed temperature,load,and main steam pressure.Finally,a collaboration and integration method based on the critic weight method and the variation coefficient method is proposed to establish data-knowledge-driven model of key operating parameters for SCFB units.The model displays great accuracy and fitting ability compared with other methods and effectively captures the dynamic characteristics,which can provide a research basis for the design of intelligent flexible control mode of SCFB unit.

The rise of artificial intelligence generated content(AIGC)has been remarkable in the language and image fields,but artificial intelligence(AI)generated three-dimensional(3D)models are still under-explored due to their complex nature and lack of training data.The conventional approach of creating 3D content through computer-aided design(CAD)is labor-intensive and requires expertise,making it challenging for novice users.To address this issue,we propose a sketch-based 3D modeling approach,Deep3DSketch-im,which uses a single freehand sketch for modeling.This is a challenging task due to the sparsity and ambiguity.Deep3DSketch-im uses a novel data representation called the signed distance field(SDF)to improve the sketch-to-3D model process by incorporating an implicit continuous field instead of voxel or points,and a specially designed neural network that can capture point and local features.Extensive experiments are conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of the approach,achieving state-of-the-art(SOTA)performance on both synthetic and real datasets.Additionally,users show more satisfaction with results generated by Deep3DSketch-im,as reported in a user study.We believe that Deep3DSketch-im has the potential to revolutionize the process of 3D modeling by providing an intuitive and easy-to-use solution for novice users.

The implementation of an intelligent road network system requires many sensors for acquiring data from roads,bridges,and vehicles,thereby enabling comprehensive monitoring and regulation of road networks.Given this large number of required sensors,the sensors must be cost-effective,dependable,and environmentally friendly.Here,we show a laser upgrading strategy for coal tar,a low-value byproduct of coal distillation,to manufacture flexible strain-gauge sensors with maximum gauge factors of 15.20 and 254.17 for tension and compression respectively.Furthermore,we completely designed the supporting processes of sensor placement,data acquisition,processing,wireless communication,and information decoding to demonstrate the application of our sensors in traffic and bridge vibration monitoring.Our novel strategy of using lasers to upgrade coal tar for use as a sensor not only achieves the goal of turning waste into a resource but also provides an approach to satisfy large-scale application requirements for enabling intelligent road networks.

The probabilistic hesitant fuzzy multi-attribute group decision-making method introduces probability and hesitation into decision-making problems at the same time,which can improve the reliability and accuracy of decision-making results,and has become a research hotspots in recent years.However,there are still many problems,such as overly complex calculations and difficulty in obtaining probability data.Based on these,the paper proposes a multi-attribute group decision-making model based on probability hesitant fuzzy soft sets.Firstly,the definition of probabilistic hesitant fuzzy soft set is given.Then,based on soft set theory and probabilistic hesitant fuzzy set,the similarity measure of probabilistic hesitant fuzzy soft set is proposed,and the two measures are further combined.Finally,it is applied to the construction of multi-attribute group decision-making model,and the effectiveness and rationality of the model are verified by an example.The example shows that the new similarity calculation formula and algorithm model in this paper have higher accuracy,and the calculation process is more simple,it provides a feasible method for multi-attribute group decision making problems.

Knockdown of neuronal DAF-15/Raptor promotes healthy aging in C.elegans

The highly conserved target of rapamycin(TOR)pathway plays an important role in aging across species.Previous studies have established that inhibition of the TOR complex 1(TORC1)significantly extends lifespan in Caenorhabditis elegans.However,it has not been clear whether TORC1 perturbation affects aging in a spatiotemporal manner.Here,we apply the auxin-inducible degradation tool to knock down endogenous DAF-15,the C.elegans ortholog of regulatory associated protein of TOR(Raptor),to characterize its roles in aging.Global or tissue-specific inhibition of DAF-15 during development results in various growth defects,whereas neuron-specific knockdown of DAF-15 during adulthood significantly extends lifespan and healthspan.The neuronal DAF-15 deficiency-induced longevity requires the intestinal activities of DAF-16/FOXO and PHA-4/FOXA transcription factors,as well as the AAK-2/AMP-activated protein kinaseαcatalytic subunit.Transcriptome profiling reveals that the neuronal DAF-15 knockdown promotes the expression of genes involved in protection.These findings define the tissue-specific roles of TORC1 in healthy aging and highlight the importance of neuronal modulation of aging.

Throughout tumorigenesis, the co-evolution of tumor cells and their surrounding microenvironment leads to the development of malignant phenotypes. Cellular communication within the tumor microenvironment(TME) plays a critical role in influencing various aspects of tumor progression, including invasion and metastasis. The release of exosomes, a type of extracellular vesicle, by most cell types in the body, is an essential mediator of intercellular communication. A growing body of research indicates that tumor-derived exosomes(TDEs) significantly expedite tumor progression through multiple mechanisms, inducing epithelial-mesenchymal transition and macrophage polarization, enhancing angiogenesis, and aiding in the immune evasion of tumor cells. Herein, we describe the formation and characteristics of the TME, and summarize the contents of TDEs and their diverse functions in modulating tumor development. Furthermore, we explore potential applications of TDEs in tumor diagnosis and treatment.
