Hydrogen energy is considered to be an ideal new energy carrier in the 21st century due to its clean,environmentally friendly,renewable characteristics and high energy density.The generation of hydrogen by hydrolysis of Mg-based alloys/hydrides has attracted extensive attention attributed to the high hydrogen yield,environmentally-benign by-products,high crust abundance,and well-developed industrial production of Mg.However,in the hydrolysis process of Mg or MgH_(2)to generate hydrogen,the formed Mg(OH)_(2)passivation layer attaches to the surface of the active materials to prevent the reaction from continuing.To improve the hydrolysis performance,a series of methods have been put forward.In this paper,focusing on the mechanisms of hydrogen generation by hydrolysis of Mg-based alloys/hydrides,we summarize the recent research progress from four different perspectives:electrochemical corrosion promotion by constructing galvanic cells,active sites increment by refining the particles,mass transfer enhancement by breaking Mg(OH)_(2)and corresponding kinetic improvement.

The nonlinear dynamics of cantilevered piezoelectric beams is investigated under simultaneous parametric and external excitations. The beam is composed of a substrate and two piezoelectric layers and assumed as an Euler-Bernoulli model with inextensible deformation. A nonlinear distributed parameter model of cantilevered piezoelectric energy harvesters is proposed using the generalized Hamilton＇s principle. The proposed model includes geometric and inertia nonlinearity, but neglects the material nonlinearity. Using the Galerkin decomposition method and harmonic balance method, analytical expressions of the frequency-response curves are presented when the first bending mode of the beam plays a dominant role. Using these expressions, we investigate the effects of the damping, load resistance, electromechanical coupling, and excitation amplitude on the frequency-response curves. We also study the difference between the nonlinear lumped-parameter and distributed- parameter model for predicting the performance of the energy harvesting system. Only in the case of parametric excitation, we demonstrate that the energy harvesting system has an initiation excitation threshold below which no energy can be harvested. We also illustrate that the damping and load resistance affect the initiation excitation threshold.

目的对虚拟现实(virtual reality,VR)技术在癌症相关认知障碍(cancer-related cognitive impairment,CRCI)患者中应用的研究进行范围审查,归纳和总结VR技术在CRCI患者中的应用现状。方法以澳大利亚乔安娜布里格斯研究所范围综述指南为方法学框架,检索PubMed、Embase、Web of Science、Cochrane Library、中国知网、万方数据知识服务平台、维普中文科技期刊数据库,时限为建库至2023年7月26日,对纳入文献进行汇总和分析。结果共纳入9篇文献。评估内容包括视听觉记忆、执行功能和语言流畅性;干预内容涉及CRCI常见认知损伤维度,包括记忆力、执行力、注意力、信息处理速度和语言流畅性,干预频率多为3~5次/周,15~60 min/次,干预时间为2~8周,干预期间根据患者表现、游戏类型及复杂性,动态调整干预频率和强度。VR在CRCI的评估和干预中显示出较好的效度和益处,同时改善患者睡眠质量、提高日常生活能力,且未报告VR相关不良事件,患者接受度更高,但在改善心理健康方面尚存争议。结论VR技术在CRCI评估和干预中显示出较好的效果和益处,且安全性较好。未来仍需开展大样本量、随机对照研究,重视患者需求在VR技术认知干预方案制订中的作用,并增加CRCI相关客观指标,进一步验证VR技术对CRCI干预效果。同时,可考虑纵向评估和随访项目,以确定VR技术干预对CRCI的渐进性影响。

What is known about this topic?Dengue fever is an acute febrile illness caused by four types of dengue virus(DENV 1–4),and is a mosquitoborne infectious disease.The incidence of dengue has increased dramatically around the world in recent decades.An estimated of 3.9 billion people in 128 countries are at risk of infection with dengue viruses,70%of whom are in Asia.In 2017,the first local infections of dengue virus(DENV-2)in Jiangxi Province was reported in Zhanggong District,Ganzhou City.What is added by this report?From August to September 2019,the first dengue outbreak happened in Xin’gan County,where 81 local dengue fever cases were reported,35 were laboratoryconfirmed cases,and 46 were clinically-diagnosed cases;all cases were dengue virus type 1.The DENV-virus strains isolated from the cases of Xin’gan County were close to the strains isolated in Singapore(MF033254|25657|Singapore|2016)and Henan(MK905537|He nan201903|China:Henan Province|2019).What are the implications for public health practice?The outbreak might have been caused by imported cases or covert infections.The outbreak in Xin’gan County indicated that more proactive countermeasures should be taken during the dengue epidemic period such as intensifying surveillance for dengue cases,virus serotype,and Aedes vector density and strengthening cooperation with customs and tourism departments.Moreover,the outbreak should prompt training in medical institutions and improved ability for doctor’s to diagnose dengue fever,which is very important for early detection of dengue cases and taking preventive measures.

High sulfur loading is a practical way to realize the advantages of high energy density lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries.Herein,we report a biomass-derived flexible self-supporting carbon(SSC)coupled with Ni S/C used as a sulfur host for high-efficiency sulfur storage.A high areal sulfur loading of 5.3 mg cm-2can be achieved in the as-prepared composite host,and physical/chemical dual blocking effects for polysulfides are implemented in the SSC-Ni S/C electrode.The 3D SSC with an interwoven structure offers a large surface area and wide internal space for sulfur accommodation.Moreover,the powerful capability of physical immobilization/chemical anchoring of the polysulfides endowed by SSC and Ni S mitigates the shuttle effect.We compared electrodes with different current collectors,and the SSC-Ni S/C-1200 electrode material showed outstanding electrochemical performance,exhibiting a first specific capacity of 1268.36 m A h g-1at a high sulfur loading of 5.3 mg cm-2.Additionally,the SSC-Ni S/C-1200 electrode exhibited a good remaining capacity of 555.15 m A h g-1at a current density of0.5 A g-1with a high sulfur loading of 3.3 mg cm-2after 300 cycles.In addition,the active material loaded in the traditional way easily falls off when the conventional current collector is folded with increasing sulfur loading,but the flexible self-supporting carbon current collector can solve this problem.This study prepared a flexible free-standing 3D interconnected carbon current collector.Via the introduction of amorphous carbon-coated Ni S,the self-supporting cathode SSC-Ni S/C-1200 achieved high sulfur loading that results in excellent electrochemical performance,providing a reference for future research on high sulfur loading in lithium-sulfur batteries.

The high-affinity potassium transporters(HKTs),selectively permeable to either Na^(+)alone or Na^(+)/K^(+),play pivotal roles in maintaining plant Na^(+)/K^(+)homeostasis.Although their involvement in salt tolerance is widely reported,the molecular underpinnings of Oryza sativa HKTs remain elusive.In this study,we elucidate the structures of OsHKT1;1 and OsHKT2;1,representing two distinct classes of rice HKTs.The dimeric assembled OsHKTs can be structurally divided into four domains.At the dimer interface,a half-helix or a loop in the third domain is coordinated by the C-terminal region of the opposite subunit.Additionally,we present the structures of OsHKT1;5 salt-tolerant and salt-sensitive variants,a key quantitative trait locus associated with salt tolerance.The salt-tolerant variant of OsHKT1;5 exhibits enhanced Na^(+)transport capability and displays a more flexible conformation.These findings shed light on the molecular basis of rice HKTs and provide insights into their role in salt tolerance.

Lymph node targeting is a commonly used strategy for particulate vaccines,particularly for Pickering emulsions.However,extensive research on the internal delivery mechanisms of these emulsions,especially the complex intercellular interactions of deformable Pickering emulsions,has been surprisingly sparse.This gap in knowledge holds significant potential for enhancing vaccine efficacy.This study aims to address this by summarizing the process of lymph-node-targeting transport and introducing a dissipative particle dynamics simulation method to evaluate the dynamic processes within cell tissue.The transport of Pickering emulsions in skeletal muscle tissue is specifically investigated as a case study.Various factors impacting the transport process are explored,including local cellular tissue environmental factors and the properties of the Pickering emulsion itself.The simulation results primarily demonstrate that an increase in radial repulsive interaction between emulsion particles can decrease the transport efficiency.Additionally,larger intercellular gaps also diminish the transport efficiency of emulsion droplet particles due to the increased motion complexity within the intricate transport space compared to a single channel.This study sheds light on the nuanced interplay between engineered and biological systems influencing the transport dynamics of Pickering emulsions.Such insights hold valuable potential for optimizing transport processes in practical biomedical applications such as drug delivery.Importantly,the desired transport efficiency varies depending on the specific application.For instance,while a more rapid transport might be crucial for lymph-node-targeted drug delivery,certain applications requiring a slower release of active components could benefit from the reduced transport efficiency observed with increased particle repulsion or larger intercellular gaps.

From 0D to 3D:Hierarchical structured high-performance free-standing silicon anodes based on binder-induced topological network architecture

Free-standing silicon anodes with high proportion of active materials have aroused great attention;however,the mechanical stability and electrochemical performance are severely suppressed.Herein,to resolve the appeal issues,a free-standing anode with a"corrugated paper"shape on micro-scale and a topological crosslinking network on the submicron and nano-scale is designed.Essentially,an integrated three-dimensional electrode structure is constructed based on robust carbon nanotubes network with firmly anchored SiNPs via forming interlocking junctions.In which,the hierarchical interlocking structure is achieved by directional induction of the binder,which ensures well integration during cycling so that significantly enhances mechanical stability as well as electronic and ionic conductivity of electrodes.Benefiting from it,this anode exhibits outsta nding performance under harsh service conditions including high Si loading,ultrahigh areal capacity(33.2 mA h cm^(-2)),and high/low temperatures(-15-60℃),which significantly extends its practical prospect.Furthermore,the optimization mechanism of this electrode is explored to verify the crack-healing and structure-integration maintaining along cycling via a unique self-stabilization process.Thus,from both the fundamental and engineering views,this strategy offers a promising path to produce high-performance free-standing electrodes for flexible device applications especially facing volume effect challenges.

As a widely used plasticizer,di-(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate(DEHP)is known to induce significant testicular injury.However,the potential mechanism and effects of pubertal exposure to DEHP on testis development remain unclear.In vivo,postnatal day(PND)21 male rats were gavaged with 0,250,and 500 mg/kg DEHP for ten days.Damage to the seminiferous epithelium and disturbed spermatogenesis were observed after DEHP exposure.Meanwhile,oxidative stress-induced injury and pyroptosis were activated.Both endoplasmic reticulum(ER)stress and mitophagy were involved in this process.Monoethylhexyl phthalate(MEHP)was used as the biometabolite of DEHP in vitro.The GC-1 and GC-2 cell lines were exposed to 0,100μM,200μM,and 400μM MEHP for 24 h.Reactive oxygen species(ROS)generation,oxidative stress damage,ER stress,mitophagy,and pyroptosis were significantly increased after MEHP exposure.The ultrastructure of the ER and mitochondria was destroyed.X-box binding protein 1(XBP1)was observed to be activated and translocated into the nucleus.ROS generation was inhibited by acetylcysteine.The levels of antioxidative stress,ER stress,mitophagy,and pyroptosis were decreased as well.After the administration of the ER stress inhibitor 4-phenyl-butyric acid,both mitophagy and pyroptosis were inhibited.Toyocamycin-induced XBP1 down-regulation decreased the levels of mitophagy and pyroptosis.The equilibrium between pyroptosis and mitophagy was disturbed by XBP1 accumulation.In summary,our findings confirmed that DEHP induced a ROS-mediated imbalance in pyroptosis and mitophagy in immature rat testes via XBP1.Moreover,XBP1 might be the key target in DEHP-related testis dysfunction.
