L-glutamic acid(LA)is a bio-based,non-toxic,environmentally friendly material derived from *** present study reports the application of Passerini three-component polymerization(P-3CP)for the straightforward preparation of LA-based light-responsive polyesters(PLTDs)under mild *** with molar masses up to 8500 g/mol and high yields exceeding 90%are *** chemical structures and light-responsive self-immolative behavior of PLTDs are comprehensively characterized by employing ultraviolet-visible(UV-Vis)spectroscopy,size exclusion chromatography(SEC),nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR)spectroscopy,and liquid chromatography mass spectrometry(LC-MS).Meanwhile,monodisperse PLTD-based doxorubicin-loaded nanoparticles(PLTD-DOX-NP)(size=193 nm,PDI=0.018)are formulated by nanoprecipitation *** light-induced depolymerization,the PLTD-DOX-NP undergoes rapid decomposition,resulting in a burst release of 80%cargo within 13 ***,according to biological toxicity tests,the PLTD-NP possesses adequate biosafety,both before and after ***,the incorporation of P-3CP with biorenewable LA-based monomer adheres to the principles of green chemistry,significantly simplifying the synthetic pathway of light-responsive polymers.

Liver transplantation(LT)is the standard therapy for individuals afflicted with end-stage liver *** notable advancements in LT technology,the incidence of early allograft dysfunction(EAD)remains a critical concern,exacerbating the current organ shortage and detrimentally affecting the prognosis of ***,the perplexing hepatic heterogeneity has impeded characterization of the cellular traits and molecular events that contribute to ***,we constructed a pioneering single-cell transcriptomic landscape of human transplanted livers derived from non-EAD and EAD patients,with 12 liver samples collected from 7 donors during the cold perfusion and portal reperfusion *** of the 75231 cells of non-EAD and EAD patients revealed an EAD-associated immune niche comprising mucosal-associated invariant T cells,granzyme B^(+)(GZMB^(+))granzyme K^(+)(GZMK^(+))natural killer cells,and S100 calcium binding protein A12^(+)(S100A12^(+))***,we verified this immune niche and its association with EAD occurrence in two independent *** findings elucidate the cellular characteristics of transplanted livers and the EAD-associated pathogenic immune niche at the single-cell level,thus,offering valuable insights into EAD onset.

BACKGROUND The efficacy of neoadjuvant chemotherapy(NAC)in advanced gastric cancer(GC)is still a controversial *** To find factors associated with chemosensitivity to NAC treatment and to provide the optimal therapeutic strategies for GC patients receiving *** The clinical information was collected from 230 GC patients who received NAC treatment at the Central South University Xiangya School of Medicine Affiliated Haikou Hospital from January 2016 to December *** absolute shrinkage and selection operator logistic regression analysis was used to find the possible predictors.A nomogram model was employed to predict the response to *** In total 230 patients were finally included in this study,including 154 males(67.0%)and 76 females(33.0%).The mean age was(59.37±10.60)years,ranging from 24 years to 80 *** to the tumor regression grade standard,there were 95 cases in the obvious response group(grade 0 or grade 1)and 135 cases in the poor response group(grade 2 or grade 3).The obvious response rate was 41.3%.Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator analysis showed that four risk factors significantly related to the efficacy of NAC were tumor location(P<0.001),histological differentiation(P=0.001),clinical T stage(P=0.008),and carbohydrate antigen 724(P=0.008).The C-index for the prediction nomogram was *** calibration curve revealed that the predicted value exhibited good agreement with the actual *** curve analysis showed that the nomogram had a good value in clinical *** A nomogram combining tumor location,histological differentiation,clinical T stage,and carbohydrate antigen 724 showed satisfactory predictive power to the response of NAC and can be used by gastrointestinal surgeons to determine the optimal treatment strategies for advanced GC patients.

We proposed a hybrid imaging scheme to estimate a high-resolution absolute depth map from low photon counts. It leverages measurements of photon arrival times from a single-photon LiDAR and an intensity image from a conventional high-resolution camera. Using a tailored fusion algorithm, we jointly processed the raw measurements from both sensors and output a high-resolution absolute depth map. We scaled up the resolution by a factor of 10, achieving 1300 × 2611 pixels and extending ~4.7 times the unambiguous range. These results demonstrated the superior capability of long-range high-resolution 3D imaging without range ambiguity.

Easy hydrolysis in alkaline environments limits the use of polyimide fibers in environmental protection. The hydrolysis resistance levels of polyimide fibers can be improved by crosslinking of the macromolecular chains. In this work, crosslinked polyimide fibers(CPI fibers) were produced by intrinsic carboxyl decarboxylation for the first time. The thermal stability of the polyimide fibers containing the intrinsic carboxyl groups(PIC fibers) was studied, and the temperature of the decarboxylation-crosslinking reaction was determined to be 450 ℃. The PIC fibers were hotdrawn to initiate thermal crosslinking of the carboxyl groups and molecular chain orientation at high temperature. The CPI fibers had high tensile strengths(0.72-1.46 GPa) and compressive strengths(401-604 MPa). The oriented macromolecules and chemically crosslinked structure improved the tightness of the molecular chains and endowed the CPI fibers with excellent hydrolytic resistance. The CPI-50 fiber did not dissolve in a 0.5 wt% NaOH solution during heating at 90 ℃ for 10 h, and the tensile strength retention reached 87% when treated in 0.5 wt% NaOH solutions at 90 ℃ for 1 h, providing a guarantee for its application in alkaline corrosive environments.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate blood pressure rhythm(BPR)in Yin deficiency syndrome of hypertension(YDSH)patients and develop a random forest model for predicting ***: Our study was consistent with technical processes and specification for developing guidelines of Evidence-based Chinese medicine clinical practice(T/CACM 1032-2017). We enrolled 234 patients who had been diagnosed with primary hypertension without antihypertensive medications prior to the enrollment. All participants were divided into Yin deficiency group(YX, n = 74) and non-Yin deficiency group(NYX, n = 160).Participants were professionally grouped by three experienced chief Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)physicians according to four examinations(i.e.,inspection, listening and smelling, inquiry and palpation).We collected data on 24 h ambulatory blood pressure monitoring(ABPM) and YDSH rating scale. We divided 24 h of a day into 12 two-hour periods [Chen-Shi(7:00-9:00), Si-Shi(9:00-11:00), Wu-Shi(11:00-13:00), Wei-Shi(13:00-15:00), Shen-Shi(15:00-17:00), You-Shi(17:00-19:00), xu-Shi(19:00-21:00), Hai-Shi(21:00-23:00), ZiShi(23:00-1:00), Chou-Shi(1:00-3:00), Yin-Shi(3:00-5:00), Mao-Shi(5:00-7:00)] according to the theory of “midnight-midday ebb flow”. We used random forest to build the diagnostic model of YDSH, with whether it was Yin deficiency syndrome as the outcome. RESULTS: Compared with NYX group, YX group had more female participants with older age, lower waist circumference, body mass index(BMI), diastolic blood pressure(DBP), and smoking and drinking rate(all P < 0.05). The YDSH rating scores of YX group [28.5(21.0-36.0)] were significantly higher than NYX group [13.0(8.0-22.0)](P < 0.001), and the typical symptoms of YX group included vexing heat in the chest, palms and soles, dizziness, dry eyes, string-like and fine pulse, soreness and weakness of lumbus and knees, palpitations, reddened cheeks, and tinnitus(all P < 0.05). Photodynamic therapy(PDT)has emerged as a significant cancer therapy ***,cation-based organic small molecule aggregation-induced emission(AIE)photosensitizers(PSs)attract the wide atten-tion of many scientists,due to improved reactive oxygen species(ROS)production after ***,such PSs tend to localize only the mitochondria,limiting the death way of tumor cells(usu-ally apoptosis)during PDT process,which may affect the therapeutic effect under some ***,we designed a novel water-soluble three positive charge PS,TPAN-18F,which could be distributed uniformly in cell cytoplasm and had distribution in different sub-organelles(mitochondria,endoplasmic reticulum,lysosome).The experimental results showed that TPAN-18F-based PDT process can not only disrupt mitochondrial functions(reducing ATP production and destroying mitochondrial membrane po-tential),but also elevate the intracellular lipid peroxides(LPOs)level,which evoke the non-apoptotic death manner of tumor ***,in vivo studies showed that TPAN-18F-based PDT could effectively inhibit tumor ***,we believe that the construction of TPAN-18F is suggestive for tumor non-apoptotic therapy.

Optical temperature sensing based on the fluorescence intensity ratio(FIR)of red emission for lanthanide ions holds significant relevance in non-contact temperature measurement for biological *** this study,the perovskite-structured KZnF_(3)is utilized as a host material for Er^(3+)to achieve a high-purity upconversion(UC)red *** observed Stark splitting of the red emission peak provides evidence of the energy level splitting of Er^(3+).Group theory is employed to decompose the spectral branching of Er^(3+)under the point group symmetry of KZnF_(3),allowing for the derivation of Stark splitting energy levels induced by the crystal field *** optical temperature-sensing behavior of the red UC luminescence was investigated,specifically examining the FIR of the splitting sub-peaks,which exhibited an exponential relationship with *** KZnF_(3):Yb^(3+),Er^(3+)demonstrated a relative sensitivity(S_(r))of 0.00182%·K^(-1)at 298 K,highlighting its excellent response to *** vivo bio-thermometry experiments conducted on chicken breast validated the material's ability to penetrate biological tissues and showed its significant sensitivity of the FIR to *** results establish KZnF_(3):Yb^(3+),Er^(3+)as a promising material for optical thermometry in various biological applications.
