We study the effect of waveguide thickness variations on the frequency spectrum of spontaneous parametric downconversion in the periodically-poled lithium niobate on insulator(LNOI)*** analyze several variation models and our simulation results show that thickness variations in several nanometers can induce distinct effects on the central peak of the spectrum,such as narrowing,broadening,and *** also prove that the effects of positive and negative variations can be canceled and thus lead to a variation-robust feature and an ultra-broad *** study may promote the development of on-chip photon sources in the LNOI platform,as well as opens up a way to engineer photon frequency state.

The effects of austenite grain size on the deformed microstructure and mechanical properties of an Fe-20Mn-6Al-0.6C-0.15Si(wt.%)low-density steel were *** microstructure of the experimental steel after solution treatment was single austenitic *** austenite grain size increased with solution temperature and time.A model was established to show the relationship between temperature,time and austenite grain size for the experimental *** addition,as the solution temperature increased,the strength decreased,while the elongation first increased and then *** decrease in elongation after solution treatment at 1100℃ for 90 min is contributed to the over-coarse austenite ***,after solution treatment at 900℃ for 90 min,the strength-elongation product reached the highest value of 44.4 GPa%.As the austenite grain size increased,the intensity of//tensile direction fiber *** was accompanied by a decrease in dislocation density,resulting in a lower fraction of low-angle grain boundaries and a lower work hardening ***,the austenite grain size has a critical influence on the mechanical properties of the low-density *** grains lead to a lower yield strength due to the Hall-Petch effect and a lower tensile strength because of lower dislocation strengthening.

By utilizing the extended phase-matching(EPM)method,we investigate the generation of single photons with high spectral-purity in a magnesium-doped periodically-poled lithium niobate(MgO:PPLN)crystal via the spontaneous parametric down-conversion(SPDC)*** adjusting the temperature and pump wavelength,the wavelength of the single photons can be tuned from telecom to mid-infrared(MIR)wavelengths,for which the spectral-purity can be above 0.95 with high transmission *** experiments,we engineer a MgO:PPLN with poling period of 20.35µm which emits the EPM photon pair centered at 1496.6 nm and 1644.0 nm and carry out the joint spectral intensity(JSI)and Glauber’s second-order self-correlation measurements to characterize the spectral *** results are in good agreement with the numerical *** work may provide a valuable approach for the generation of spectrally pure single photons at a wide range of wavelengths which is competent for various photonic quantum technologies.

A monolithic optical superlattice which contains two segments of periodically poled area is designed to generated triplets. We investigate how to manipulate the tripartite frequency correlation of triplets under extended phase-matching conditions. By choosing proper pump bandwidth and crystal length, the tripartite frequency will show a full correlation, partial correlation or no correlation, corresponding to one none-separable triplet, separable one photon and biphoton or three separable photons, respectively. We found that the spacetime wave packets of the triplets could show a variety of fine structures when the physical parameters were adjusted. This research plays an important role in understanding the basic properties of multi-body correlation and can also supply key elements for developing new quantum technologies.

We study the effect of dimension variation for second-harmonic generation(SHG) in lithium niobate on insulator(LNOI)waveguides. Non-trivial SHG profiles in both type-0 and type-I quasi-phase matching are observed during the wavelength tuning of the fundamental light. Theoretical modeling shows that the SHG profile and efficiency can be greatly affected by the waveguide cross-section dimension variations, especially the thickness variations. In particular, our analysis shows that a thickness variation of tens of nanometers is in good agreement with the experimental results. Such investigations could be used to evaluate fabrication performance of LNOI-based nonlinear optical devices.

Somatic cell nuclear transfer(SCNT) has been successfully employed across various mammalian species,yet cloned animals consistently exhibit low pregnancy rates, primarily due to placental abnormalities such as hyperplasia and hypertrophy. This study investigated the involvement of the Hippo signaling pathway in aberrant placentaldevelopmentinSCNT-inducedbovine pregnancies. SCNT-derived cattle exhibited placental hypertrophy, including enlarged abdominal circumference and altered placental cotyledon morphology. RNA sequencing analysis indicated significant dysregulation of Hippo signaling pathway genes in SCNT placentas. Coexpression of YAP1 and CCND1 was observed in cloned blastocysts, placental tissues, and bovine placental mesenchymal stem cells(bPMSCs). Manipulation of YAP1expression demonstrated the capacity to regulate bPMSC proliferation. Experimental assays confirmed the direct binding of YAP1 to CCND1, which subsequently promoted CCND1 expression in bPMSCs. Furthermore, inhibition of CDK6, a downstream target of CCND1, attenuated SCNT bPMSC proliferation. This study identified YAP1 as a key regulatory component within the Hippo signaling pathway that drives placental hyperplasia in cloned cattle through up-regulation of CCND1-CDK6 expression, facilitating cell cycle progression. These findings offer potential avenues for enhancing cloning efficiency, with implications for evolutionary biology and the conservation of valuable germplasm resources.

Although ignition had been achieved at the National Ignition Facility(NIF),recent observations of the experiments indicate novel physics that beyond theoretical predictions emerge,e.g.,the neutron analysis of experiments has revealed deviations from the Maxwellian distributions in ion relative kinetic energies of burning plasmas,with the surprising emergence of supra-thermal deuterium and tritium(DT)ions that fall outside the predictions of macroscopic statistical hydrodynamic *** our newly developed hybrid-particle-in-cell code,incorporating the newly-proposed model of large-angle collisions,we infer that that this could be attributed to the increased significance of large-angle collisions among DT ions andα-particles in the burning *** and unprecedented kinetic investigations into the implications of large-angle collisions in the burning plasma have yielded several key findings,including an ignition moment promotion by~10 ps,the presence of supra-thermal ions below an energy threshold,and approximately twice the expected deposition ofα-particles *** rationality of our findings is confirmed through the congruency between the neutron spectral moment analyses conducted by the NIF and our kinetic simulations,both highlighting progressively widening disparities between neutron spectral moment analyses and hydrodynamics predictions,which becomes more pronounced as the yield *** kinetic simulations with large-angle collisions not only provide novel insights for experiment interpretation but also open new research opportunities for the largely unexplored regime of the nuclear burning plasmas,which are distinguished by their exceptionally high energy densities and hold immense potential for illuminating the intricate physics that underpins the evolution of the early universe.

Pear(Pyrus bretschneideri)fruit stone cells are primarily composed of lignin and have strongly lignified cell *** presence of stone cells has a negative influence on fruit texture and taste,and thus the reduction of stone cell content in pear fruit is a key goal of breeding ***,research into the key transcription factors and regulatory networks associated with pear fruit stone cell formation have been *** here used a combination of co-expression network and expression quantitative trait locus(eQTL)analyses in 206 pear cultivars with different stone cell contents to identify relevant genes;these analyses uncovered the gene PbrMYB4,a R2R3 MYB transcription factor *** was a strong positive correlation between relative PbrMYB4 expression levels in the fruit flesh and stone cell/lignin *** of PbrMYB4 significantly increased the lignin contents,whereas silencing of PbrMYB4 had the opposite effect,decreasing the contents of ***4 overexpression in pear calli significantly promoted lignin *** Arabidopsis thaliana,PbrMYB4 overexpression resulted in increasing lignin deposition,cell wall thickness of vessels and xylary fiber,and accelerating expression level of lignin biosynthetic ***4 was found to activate 4-Coumarate:Coenzyme A Ligase(Pbr4CL1)by binding to AC-I elements in the promoter regions,as demonstrated with dual-luciferase reporter assays and a yeast one-hybrid *** results demonstrated that PbrMYB4 positively regulated lignin biosynthesis in pear fruit stone cells by activating lignin biosynthesis *** study improves our understanding of the gene regulatory networks associated with stone cell formation in pear fruit,providing guidance for molecular breeding of pear varieties with low stone cell content.

Lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)are the most popular energy storage devices due to their high energy density,high operating voltage,and long cycle ***,green and effective recycling methods are needed because LIBs contain heavy metals such as Co,Ni,and Mn and organic compounds inside,which seriously threaten human health and the *** this work,we review the current status of spent LIB recycling,discuss the traditional pyrometallurgical and hydrometallurgical recovery processes,and summarize the existing short-process recovery technologies such as salt-assisted roasting,flotation processes,and direct ***,we analyze the problems and potential research prospects of the current recycling process,and point out that the multidisciplinary integration of recycling will become the mainstream technology for the development of spent LIBs.
