BACKGROUND Conservative treatments have been reported to diminish or resolve clinical symptoms of lumbar intervertebral disc herniation(LIDH)within a few *** SUMMARY Computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)of the lumbar region of a 25-yearold male diagnosed with LIDH showed prolapse of the L5/S2 *** disc extended 1.0 cm beyond the vertebral edge and hung along the posterior vertebral *** patient elected a conservative treatment regimen that included traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),acupuncture,and *** a follow-up period of more than 12 mo,good improvement in pain was reported without *** of the lumbar region after 12 mo showed obvious reabsorption of the *** A conservative treatment regimen of TCM,acupuncture,and massage promoted reabsorption of a prolapsed disc.

Lithium-sulfur （Li-S） battery,as a promising next-generation high-energy-density battery,suffers from lithium polysulfides（LPSs） shuttle and Li dendrites *** crystalline framework-based membranes as separator can effectively absorb and restrain LPSs but without precise structural design principal exploration and mechanism ***,bio-inspired 1D oriented lithium-ion transport channels with molecular negatively charged PO3（-1） have been developed in hybrid tetrazole frameworks for promoting the transmission of Li+*** theoretical calculations and in situ spectroscopy demonstrated the higher binding energy and inhibited diffusion of LPSs in *** assembled PP@PO3Janus separator in Li-S coin cell delivered a high initial capacity of 1410.9 mAh g-1at 0.1 C and a low attenuation rate of 0.038%per cycle over 500 cycles at 5 ***,the high capacities of 862,542 and 409 mAh g-1based on high-sulfur-loading cathodes of 2.6,3.8 and 5.0 mg cm-2at0.5 C were achieved,***,the punch battery of PO3@PP separator with S-cathode of 1.2 mg cm-2has been developed for demonstrating its potentials commercial application,which displays impressive capacity of 873.4 mAh g-1with the retention of～78.9%over 50 cycles.

Anticorrosion Performance of Epoxy Coatings Containing Small Amount of Inherently Conducting PEDOT/PSS on Hull Steel in Seawater

Corrosion protection of the hull steel by the conventional epoxy paint containing a small amount of commercial poly（3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene）/poly（styrene sulfonate）（PEDOT/PSS）, which is one of the most popular and successful inherently conducting polymers as the corrosion inhibitor was studied. The corrosion behavior of the samples was investigated in seawater by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and open circuit potential. Scanning electron microscopy was used to observe the surface morphology of the samples after corrosion. It was found that adding a small amount of PEDOT/PSS to the epoxy resin can significantly improve its corrosion protection.

Initial Processes of Sulfur Adsorption on Si（100） Surface

The adsorption of one monolayer S atoms on ideal Si（100） surface is studied by using the self-consistent tight binding linear muffon-tin orbital method. Energies of adsorption systems ors atoms on different sites are calculated. It is found that the adsorbed S atoms are more favorable on B1 site （bridge site） with a distance 0.131 nm above the Si surface. The .S, Si mixed layer might exist at S/Si（100） interface. The layer projected density of states are calculated and compared with that of the clean surface. The charge transfers are also investigated.

Molecular simulation study of the microstructures and properties of pyridinium ionic liquid[HPy][BF_(4)]mixed with acetonitrile

The microstructures and thermodynamic properties of mixed systems comprising pyridinium ionic liquid[HPy][BF_(4)]and acetonitrile at different mole fractions were studied using molecular dynamics simulation in this *** following properties were determined:density,self-diffusion coefficient,excess molar volume,and radial distribution *** results show that with an increase in the mole fraction of[HPy][BF_(4)],the self-diffusion coefficient ***,the excess molar volume initially decreases,reaches a minimum,and then *** rules of radial distribution functions(RDFs)of characteristic atoms are *** increasing the mole fraction of[HPy][BF_(4)],the first peak of the RDFs of HA1-F decreases,while that of CT6-CT6 rises at first and then *** indicates that the solvent molecules affect the polar and non-polar regions of[HPy][BF_(4)]differently.

Development and Evaluation of a 7-DOF Haptic Interface

With the development of human robot interaction technologies, haptic interfaces are widely used for 3 D applications to provide the sense of touch. These interfaces have been utilized in medical simulation, virtual assembly and remote manipulation tasks. However, haptic interface design and control are still critical problems to reproduce the highly sensitive touch sense of humans. This paper presents the development and evaluation of a7-DOF(degree of freedom) haptic interface based on the modified delta mechanism. Firstly, both kinematics and dynamics of the modified mechanism are analyzed and presented. A novel gravity compensation algorithm based on the physical model is proposed and validated in simulation. A haptic controller is proposed based on the forward kinematics and the gravity compensation algorithm. To evaluate the control performance of the haptic interface, a prototype has been implemented. Three kinds of experiments: gravity compensation, static response and force tracking are performed respectively. The experimental results show that the mean error of the gravity compensation is less than 0.7 N and the maximum continuous force along the axis can be up to 6 N. This demonstrates the good performance of the proposed haptic interface.

Adaptive Preassigned Time Stabilisation of Uncertain Second-Order Sub-Fully Actuated Systems

For a class of second-order sub-fully actuated systems(SOSFASs),this paper presents a preset-trajectory-based(PT-based)adaptive stabilising control method by integrating the function augmented sliding mode control(FASMC)technique and the flat-zone introduced Lyapunov function *** SOSFASs under study are subject to internal uncertainties and external *** proposed PT-based stabilising control method exhibits several attractive features:1)The system states can converge to a predefined region close to zero in a preassigned time and can be confined in a preassigned‘safe’area,which can make the control coefficient matrix always full rank so as to preserve the realizability of the proposed controller;2)the utilization of flat-zone introduced Lyapunov function technique not only eliminates the chatting phenomenon,but also avoids the potential persistent increase problem of the adaptive law;and 3)the control gain increases as the adaptive law increases only when necessary,that is,when the current control gain is not sufficient to suppress uncertainties or disturbances,therefore,the conservativeness of the control design due to unnecessarily high control gain can be effectively *** effectiveness of the proposed control method is verified via a numerical example.

Superplasticity of Directionally Solidified NiAl-15Cr Alloy at High Temperature

Ni-25Al-15Cr （atomic percent, %） alloy was directionally solidified （DS） under argon atmosphere in an Al2O3-SiO2 ceramic mold by standard Bridgman method. The microstructure of the as-fabricated alloy was studied using optical microscope, X-ray diffractometer, and scanning electron microscope. The alloy consisting of dendritic β- NiAl phase, interdendritic γ/γ′ phase, and transient layer γ′ phase, has been investigated. This alloy exhibits superplastic deformation behavior at 1 273-1 373 K over an initial strain rate range of 8. 35×10 ^-4 -1. 67×10^-2s^-1. The maximum elongation of 280% with strain rate sensitivity index m= 0. 22 was obtained at the temperature of 1 323 K and an initial strain rate of 8. 35×10^-3s^-1. Transmission electron microscopy （TEM） observations indicate that the superplastic deformation stems from the balance between high resistance （by dislocation sliding） and strain softening （by dynamic recovery and recrystallization）.

Immunotherapeutic strategies targeting B cell maturation antigen in multiple myeloma

Multiple myeloma(MM) is the second most common hematologic malignancy, and is characterized by the clonal expansion of malignant plasma cells. Despite the recent improvement in patient outcome due to the use of novel therapeutic agents and stem cell transplantation, all patients eventually relapse due to clone evolution. B cell maturation antigen(BCMA) is highly expressed in and specific for MM cells, and has been implicated in the pathogenesis as well as treatment development for MM. In this review, we will summarize representative anti-BCMA immune therapeutic strategies, including BCMA-targeted vaccines, anti-BCMA antibodies and BCMA-targeted CAR cells. Combination of different immunotherapeutic strategies of targeting BCMA, multi-target immune therapeutic strategies, and adding immune modulatory agents to normalize anti-MM immune system in minimal residual disease(MRD) negative patients, will also be discussed.

Effects of compressibility on the Rayleigh-Taylor instability in Z-pinch implosions
