A numerical study of hydrodynamic influence on collision of brash ice with a structural plate

The ice-structure collision is a transient process, which is further complicated by the presence of the water. It remains unclear how important the hydrodynamic influences are during the collision. This problem is partially investigated in this paper using numerical methods. To simplify the problem as much as possible without loss of generality, a short ice cylinder of circular section is assumed to collide with a vertical large structure plate under a variety of collision scenarios. Among them the most important cases are: (1) the rigid ice cylinder collision with the rigid or elastic structural plate at different collision velocities, (2) the elastic ice cylinder collision with the rigid or elastic structural plate at different collision velocities and (3) the elastoplastic ice cylinder collision with the rigid or elastic structural plate at different collision velocities. The numerical results show that: (1) the hydrodynamic influences are negligible in the first case, (2) the hydrodynamic influences in the second and third cases are not negligible, and become very significant in the third case. The influences are numerically estimated to be in the range of 20%–60% in terms of the momentum change. If the ice response is approximately decomposed into the rigid-body motions and the deformation modes at the instant of the collision with the structure, the previous conclusions show that the hydrodynamic influences on the rigid-body motions of the ice are negligible, but those on the elastic and elastoplastic modes of the ice are significant. Comparison with the case of a submerged ice cylinder (although not a practical case) reveals that the hydrodynamic influences are small in the first case due to the fact that the energy loss is used to produce the water splash and the cavity behind the ice cylinder. Tourism sectorization opportunity spectrum model and space partition of tourism urbanization area:a case of the Mayangxi ecotourism area,Fujian province,China

Nowadays, tourism has become an increasingly significant driving force of modern urbanization in China. However, it has caused varieties of problems, such as resource unreasonable utilization, society unfair play, and environment pollution, etc. Thus, the establishment of an efficient and sustainable space partition model for tourism urbanization, from the geographical perspective, is highly necessary and urgent. Herein, a new evaluation model of tourist town space, referred to as Tourism Sectorization Opportunity Spectrum(TSOS), is established on the relationships between productionliving-ecology spaces. TSOS is a kind of quantitative evaluation model involving such factors as urban living area, ecological conservation area and the tourism industry. Furthermore, the analysis of quantitative production-living-ecology spatial overlap has been utilized for space division in a tourism urbanization area. This paper, using both the TSOS model and GIS technology, analyzes the spatial restructure of the Mayangxi ecotourism area. Theresult demonstrates that tourism industrial space takes the Shanchong Village as a core which shows a pattern of local regional agglomeration and a fuzzy edge extending along the entire Mayangxi River. The urban living area should be consolidated in the Shili village with the supporting facilities and living space for tourism. In addition, Tianzhu Mountain forest park should be the key environmental protection area. The case study on the Mayangxi ecotourism area verifies that the TSOS model has strong operability. Therefore, TSOS model provides a scientific foundation for the space reconstruction of new urbanization area, and an effective tool for optimizing the space partition of a tourism urbanization area.

We report the discovery of a peculiar X-ray transient,EP240408a,by Einstein Probe （EP） and follow-up studies made with EP,Swift,NICER,GROND,ATCA and other ground-based multiwavelength *** new transient was first detected with Wide-field X-ray Telescope （WXT） on board EP on April 8th,2024,manifested in an intense yet brief X-ray flare lasting for *** flare reached a peak flux of 3.9×10-9erg cm-2s-1in 0.5-4 ke V,～300 times brighter than the underlying X-ray emission detected throughout the *** and more precise follow-up observations by EP/FXT,Swift and NICER confirmed the finding of this new *** X-ray spectrum is non-thermal in 0.5-10 ke V,with a power-law photon index varying *** X-ray light curve shows a plateau lasting for ～4 d,followed by a steep decay till becoming undetectable ～10 d after the initial *** on its temporal property and constraints from previous EP observations,an unusual timescale in the range of 7-23 d is found for EP240408a,which is intermediate between the commonly found fast and long-term *** counterparts have been found in optical and near-infrared,with the earliest observation at 17 h after the initial X-ray detection,suggestive of intrinsically weak emission in these *** demonstrate that the remarkable properties of EP240408a are inconsistent with any of the transient types known so far,by comparison with,in particular,jetted tidal disruption events,gamma-ray bursts,X-ray binaries and fast blue optical *** nature of EP240408a thus remains an *** suggest that EP240408a may represent a new type of transients with intermediate timescales of the order of～10 *** detection and follow-ups of more of such objects are essential for revealing their origin.

The reaction of 4-（p-fluobenzoyl）-2,5-dihydro-3-methyl-1-phenyl pyrazol-5-one with thiosemicarbazide in MeOH followed by recrystallization in EtOH gave rise to yellowish lamellar crystals of 4（p-fluo-a-aminothiocarbonyl hydrazonobenzal）-2,5-dihydro-3-methyl- 1-phenyl pyrazol-5-one 1. It crystallizes in orthorhombic, space group Pbca with a = 18.445（4）, b = 11.987（2）, c = 19.249（4） °A,, V= 4256.1（18）°A^3, Z = 8, Mr = 415.49, Dc= 1.297 g/cm^3, T = 296（2） K, F（000） = 1744,μ（MoKα） = 0.186 cm^-1, R = 0.0521 and wR = 0.1211 for 1661 observed reflections with I 〉 2σ（I）. The compound was structurally characterized by elemental analyses, IR and ^1H NMR. The intermolecular hydrogen bonds are present and a two-dimensional framework is formed by two intermolecular hydrogen bonds in the （001） plane.

Sag Source Location and Type Recognition via Attention-based Independently Recurrent Neural Network

Accurate sag source location and precise sag type recognition are both essential to verifying the responsible party for the sag and taking countermeasures to improve power *** this paper,an attention-based independently recurrent neural network(IndRNN)for sag source location and sag type recognition in sparsely monitored power system is ***,the given inputs are voltage waveforms collected by limited meters in sparsely monitored power system,and the desired outputs simultaneously contain the following information:the located lines where sag occurs;the corresponding sag types,including motor starting,transformer energizing and short circuit;and the fault phase for short *** essence,the responsibility of the proposed method is to automatically establish a nonlinear function that relates the given inputs to the desired outputs with categorization labels as few as possible.A favorable feature of the proposed method is that it can be realized without system parameters or *** proposed method is validated by IEEE 30-bus system and a real 134-bus *** results demonstrate that the accuracy of sag source location is higher than 99%for all lines,and the accuracy of sag type recognition is also higher than 99%for various sag sources including motor starting,transformer energizing and 7 different types of short ***,a comparison among different monitor placements for the proposed method is conducted,which illustrates that the observability of power networks should be ensured to achieve satisfactory performance.
