A Comprehensive Approach for the Clustering of Similar-Performance Cells for the Design of a Lithium-Ion Battery Module for Electric Vehicles

An energy-storage system comprised of lithium-ion battery modules is considered to be a core component of new energy vehicles,as it provides the main power source for the transmission ***,manufacturing defects in battery modules lead to variations in performance among the cells used in series or parallel *** variation results in incomplete charge and discharge of batteries and non-uniform temperature distribution,which further lead to reduction of cycle life and battery capacity over *** solve this problem,this work uses experimental and numerical methods to conduct a comprehensive investigation on the clustering of battery cells with similar performance in order to produce a battery module with improved electrochemical *** were first performed by dismantling battery modules for the measurement of performance *** kmeans clustering and support vector clustering(SVC)algorithms were then employed to produce battery modules composed of 12 cells *** verification of the results obtained from the clustering analysis was performed by measuring the temperature rise in the cells over a certain period,while air cooling was *** was found that the SVC-clustered battery module in Category 3 exhibited the best performance,with a maximum observed temperature of 32℃.By contrast,the maximum observed temperatures of the other battery modules were higher,at 40℃for Category 1(manufacturer),36℃for Category 2(manufacturer),and 35℃for Category 4(k-means-clustered battery module).

In this paper, a frequency control method is introduced for wind-diesel hybrid system by using a sliding mode controller and a Super-Capacitor energy storage system to reduce frequency deviations. By means of the proposed method, output power control of WTG system considering the conditions of power utilities and maximizing energy capture are achieved. The proposed method is compared with the conventional method of diesel speed control strategy, the simulation results show that proposed method is effective to reduce the frequency deviation of isolated power system.

Inhibition of KIT RNAi mediated with adenovirus in gastrointestinal stromal tumor xenograft

AIM: To investigate a therapeutic method for gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) based on KIT RNA interference (RNAi) with AdMax adenovirus. METHODS: KIT short hairpin RNA (shRNA), whose lateral sides were decorated with restriction endonuclease sequences, was designed. T 4 DNA ligase catalyzed the joint of the KIT shRNA and the green fluorescent protein-containing PDC316-EGFP-U6 to form PDC316EGFP-U6-KIT. Homologous recombination of AdEGFPU6-KIT was performed with the AdMax system. Heterotopically transplanted GISTs were established in nude mice. AdEGFP-U6-KIT was intratumorally injected. The volume, inhibition ratio of tumor and CD117 expression of GIST graft tumor in nude mice were compared between test and control groups. RESULTS: The length of KIT shRNA was determined to be about 50bp by agarose electrophoresis. Gene se-quencing detected the designed KIT RNAi sequence in PDC316-EGFP-U6-KIT. After transfection with AdEGFPU6-KIT, 293 cells displayed green fluorescence. The physical and infective titers of AdEGFP-U6-KIT were 5 × 10 11 viral particles/mL and 5.67 × 10 7 plaque forming units/mL, respectively. The mean volume of the grafted tumor was significantly smaller in test mice than in control mice (75.3 ± 22.9 mm 3 vs 988.6 ± 30.5 mm 3 , t = -18.132, P mice.

The influence of polystyrene particles with different nanoscale roughnesses on the morphology of polyisobutylene/poly-dimethylsiloxane blends was studied under shear flow by using confocal laser scanning *** was found that the surface roughness of particles strongly affected their diffusion and distribution behaviors,thereby determining the size and spatial arrangement of droplets in the *** roughness effect of particles was found to possess a strong dependence on both the blend ratio and the shear *** result suggested that the particle roughness can serve as a new parameter to control the structure-property correlation in particle-filled polymer blends,especially under slow flow.

Beam charge integration in external beam PIXE–PIGE analysis utilizing proton backscattering with an extraction window

In this study,we present a new method for the indirect integration of beam charges in external beam proton-induced X-ray emission and proton-induced c-ray emission(PIXE–PIGE) *** recorded proton spectra backscattered by a Kapton film extraction window in different sample situations and under different beam *** also simulated backscattering spectra using the simulation of backscattering spectra program(SIMNRA).We determined that in a specific geometrical arrangement,different sample situations did not significantly affect factor C_Q(the ratio between integral backscattering proton counts and integral beam charges).We also studied the reproducibility and beam current dependence of factor C_*** statistic factor of C_Q was28.95 ± 0.6 kilo counts/l C,with a relative standard deviation of 2.0 %.Significantly,in external beam PIXE–PIGE analysis,we were able to calculate beam charge integration from the integral backscattering proton counts in an energy region.

A Method for Anomaly Detection of User Behaviors Based on Machine Learning

This paper presents a new anomaly detection method based on machine learning. Applicable to host-based intrusion detection .systems, this method uses shell commands as audit data. The method employs shell command sequences of different lengths to characterize behavioral patterns of a network user, and constructs multiple sequence libraries to represent the user＇s normal behavior profile. In the detection stage, the behavioral patterns in the audit data are mined by a sequence-matching algorithm, and the similarities between the mined patterns and the historical profile are evaluated. These similarities are then smoothed with sliding windows, and the smoothed similarities are used to determine whether the monitored user＇s behaviors are normal or anomalous. The results of our experience show the method can achieve higher detection accuracy and .shorter detection time than the instance-based method presented by Lane T. The method has been successfully applied in practical host-based intrusion detection systems.

In this work,we designed and synthesized a novel naphthalenediimide-based n-type conjugated polymer PNDICI,which bears asymmetric backbone containing a 3-chlorothiophene *** asymmetric structure associated with steric effects of the chlorine atom imparts remarkable solubility to PNDICI in various organic solvents,enabling the fabrication of all-polymer solar cells(all-PSCs)by using an environmentally friendly solvent of *** with a novel pyrrolo[3,4-f]benzotriazole-5,7(6H)-dione based p-type conjugated polymer P2F-Si with deep highest occupied molecular orbital energy level,the resulting d-limonene-processed all-PSCs presents an impressively high open-circuit voltage of approaching 1.0 V,corresponding to a very small energy loss of 0.49 *** further morphology optimization by usingγ-valerolactone,we demonstrated an impressive device efficiency of 4.2%,which is among the best photovoltaic performance of devices processed using d-limonene and comparable to that processed by conventional solvent,suggesting the great promise of using greener solvent for fabricating high-performance all-PSCs.

Co/Pt multilayer-based pseudo spin valves with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy

Pseudo spin valves（SVs） exhibiting perpendicular magnetic anisotropy were prepared by magnetron sputtering. Magnetization measurements of the Co/Pt multilayers were performed to select the reference and free layers. The selection criteria are square magnetic hysteresis loops, weaker current shunting effect, and proper coercivity. The optimal reference layer and free layer are Pt（5.0 nm）/[Co（0.4 nm）/Pt（0.6 nm）]3/Co（0.4 nm）/Cu（3.0 nm）and Cu（3.0 nm）/[Co（0.4 nm）/Pt（1.5 nm）]4, *** resulting pseudo SV exhibits two well-separated hysteresis loops when the field is applied perpendicular to the film plane. The minor hysteresis loop corresponding to the free layer shifts toward negative direction of the magnetic field axis, indicating ferromagnetic interlayer exchange coupling between the two magnetic layers. The coupling also enhances the coercivity（HC） of both layers. The perpendicular giant magnetoresistance（GMR） of 2.7 % is achieved with current in plane measurement. The GMR first increases when Pt seed layer is thickened, reaches a maximum of 3.0 % at 4 nm and then decreases with the further increase of thickness. But thicker Cu spacer layer always lowers the GMR of the SV.

Experimental demonstration of switching entangled photons based on the Rydberg blockade effect

The long-range interaction between Rydberg-excited atoms endows a medium with large optical ***,we demonstrate an optical switch to operate on a single photon from an entangled photon pair under a Rydberg electromagnetically induced transparency *** the presence of the Rydberg blockade effect,we switch on a gate field to make the atomic medium nontransparent thereby absorbing the single photon emitted from another atomic ensemble via the spontaneous fourwave mixing *** contrast to the case without a gate field,more than 50%of the photons sent to the switch are blocked,and finally achieve an effective single-photon *** are on average 1-2 gate photons per effective blockade sphere in one gate *** switching effect on a single entangled photon depends on the principal quantum number and the photon number of the gate *** experimental progress is significant in the quantum information process especially in controlling the interaction between Rydberg atoms and entangled photon pairs.
