Multi-scale data joint inversion of minerals and porosity in altered igneous reservoirs—A case study in the South China Sea

There are abundant igneous gas reservoirs in the South China Sea with significant value of research,and lithology classification,mineral analysis and porosity inversion are important links in reservoir evaluation.However,affected by the diverse lithology,complicated mineral and widespread alteration,conventional logging lithology classification and mineral inversion become considerably difficult.At the same time,owing to the limitation of the wireline log response equation,the quantity and accuracy of minerals can hardly meet the exploration requirements of igneous formations.To overcome those issues,this study takes the South China Sea as an example,and combines multi-scale data such as micro rock slices,petrophysical experiments,wireline log and element cutting log to establish a set of joint inversion methods for minerals and porosity of altered igneous rocks.Specifically,we define the lithology and mineral characteristics through core slices and mineral data,and establish an igneous multi-mineral volumetric model.Then we determine element cutting log correction method based on core element data,and combine wireline log and corrected element cutting log to perform the lithology classification and joint inversion of minerals and porosity.However,it is always difficult to determine the elemental eigenvalues of different minerals in inversion.This paper uses multiple linear regression methods to solve this problem.Finally,an integrated inversion technique for altered igneous formations was developed.The results show that the corrected element cutting log are in good agreement with the core element data,and the mineral and porosity results obtained from the joint inversion based on the wireline log and corrected element cutting log are also in good agreement with the core data from X-ray diffraction.The results demonstrate that the inversion technique is applicable and this study provides a new direction for the mineral inversion research of altered igneous formations.

Regulating Ni site in NiV LDH for efficient electrocatalytic production of formate and hydrogen by glycerol electrolysis

Energy-saving glycerol electrolysis with lower potential than water spitting endows a promising way for the concurrent production of value-added formate and high-purity hydrogen. However, there is still lack of efficient electrocatalysts at both anode and cathode for glycerol electrolysis. Herein, we report the activation of Ni site in NiV layered double hydroxide(LDH) by electrochemical and N_(2)/H_(2) plasma regulations for boosting the activity of glycerol oxidation reaction(GOR) and hydrogen evolution reaction(HER), respectively. Specifically, boosted GOR performance with a low overpotential(1.23 V at 10 mA·cm^(-2)) and a high Faradic efficiency(94%) is demonstrated by electrochemically regulated NiV LDH(ENiV LDH) with elevated valence state of Ni site. In situ Raman spectrum reveals the generation of Ni(Ⅲ) species by electrochemical regulation, and the highly active Ni(Ⅲ)can be regenerated with the process of electrochemical oxidation. Additionally, the possible reaction pathway is speculated based on the in situ Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR) and high-performance liquid chromatography results. The plasma-regulated NiV LDH(PNiV LDH) with lower valence state of Ni site exhibits outstanding HER activity, displaying a low overpotential of 45 m V to deliver 10 mA·cm^(-2).When employing E-NiV LDH and P-NiV LDH as anode and cathode electrocatalyst, respectively, the assembled electrolyzer merely needs 1.25 V to achieve 10 m A·cm^(-2) for simultaneous production of formate and hydrogen, demonstrating remarkable 320 mV of lower potential than water electrolysis.

A Comprehensive Overview of CFN From a Commonsense Perspective

Chinese FrameNet(CFN)is a scenario commonsense knowledge base(CKB)that plays an important role in research on Chinese language understanding.It is based on the theory of frame semantics and English FrameNet(FN).The CFN knowledge base contains a wealth of scenario commonsense knowledge,including frames,frame elements,and frame relations,as well as annotated instances with rich scenario-related labels on Chinese sentences and discourses.In this paper,we conduct a comprehensive overview of CFN from a commonsense perspective,covering topics such as scenario commonsense representation,CFN resources,and its applications.We also summarize recent breakthroughs and identify future research directions.First,we introduce the concept of scenario commonsense,including its definitions,examples,and representation methods,with a focus on the relationship between scenario commonsense and the frame concept in CFN.In addition,we provide a comprehensive overview of CFN resources and their applications,highlighting the newly proposed frame-based discourse representation and a human-machine collaboration framework for expanding the CFN corpus.Furthermore,we explore emerging topics such as expanding the CFN resource,improving the interpretability of machine reading comprehension,and using scenario CKBs for text generation.

Durable dual-state duplex Si-HfO_(2)with excellent oxidation and cracking resistance

The lifetime of Si bond coatings in environmental barrier coatings is constrained by phase-transition-induced cracking of the SiO_(2)scale.In this study,Si-HfO_(2)dual-state duplex composite materials are proposed to address this issue by partially forming HfSiO_(4)and minimizing the SiO_(2)content.The as-prepared composite exhibited a structure comprising discrete HfO_(2)“bricks”embedded in a continuous Si“mortar”,while the oxidized state transformed into discrete HfSiO_(4)“bricks”within continuous thin SiO_(2)“mortars”.The results indicate that continuous thin SiO_(2)contributes to reducing the oxidation rate to a level comparable to that of pure Si,and discrete HfSiO_(4)particles aid in relieving phase transition-induced stress and inhibiting crack propagation,thereby enhancing oxidation and cracking resistance simultaneously.Consequently,the composite with 20 mol%HfO_(2)and a mean particle size of~500 nm at 1370℃exhibited a service lifetime 10 times greater than that of pure Si.This research provides valuable insights for designing Si-based bond coatings with improved service lifetime.

Development and validation of a novel non-invasive test for diagnosing nonalcoholic fatty liver disease in Chinese children

With the exploding prevalence of obesity,many children are at risk of developing nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.Using anthropometric and laboratory parameters,our study aimed to develop a model to quantitatively evaluate liver fat content(LFC)in children with obesity.Methods A well-characterized cohort of 181 children between 5 and 16 years of age were recruited to the study in the Endocrinology Department as the derivation cohort.The external validation cohort comprised 77 children.The assessment of liver fat content was performed using proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy.Anthropometry and laboratory metrics were measured in all subjects.B-ultrasound examination was carried out in the external validation cohort.The Kruskal-Wallis test,Spearman bivariate correlation analyses,univariable linear regressions and multivariable linear regression were used to build the optimal predictive model.Results The model was based on indicators including alanine aminotransferase,homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance,triglycerides,waist circumference and Tanner stage.The adjusted R^(2)of the model was 0.589,which presented high sensitivity and specificity both in internal[sensitivity of 0.824,specificity of 0.900,area under curve(AUC)of 0.900 with a 95%confidence interval:0.783–1.000]and external validation(sensitivity of 0.918 and specificity of 0.821,AUC of 0.901 with a 95%confidence interval:0.818–0.984).Conclusions Our model based on five clinical indicators was simple,non-invasive,and inexpensive;it had high sensitivity and specificity in predicting LFC in children.Thus,it may be useful for identifying children with obesity who are at risk for developing nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.

This editorial discusses the article written by Zheng et al that was published in the latest edition of the World Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery.Our primary focus is on the causes,location,diagnosis,histological classification,and therapy of ectopic pancreas.Ectopic pancreas refers to the presence of pancreatic tissue that is situated in a location outside its usual anatomical placement,and is not connected to the normal pancreas in terms of blood supply or anatomical struc-ture.Currently,the embryological origin of ectopic pancreas remains uncertain.The most prevalent form of ectopic pancreatic is gastric ectopic pancreas.Endoscopic ultrasonography examination can visualize the morphological charac-teristics of the ectopic pancreatic lesion and pinpoint its anatomical location.The histological categorization of ectopic pancreas evolves.Endoscopic treatment has been widely advocated in ectopic pancreas.

Over the years,numerous geotechnical approaches have been implemented to mitigate the adverse effects of climate warming on various infrastructures in the permafrost region of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau(QTP),such as the Qinghai-Tibet Highway and Railway,and achieved the expected engineering outcomes.However,little attention has been given to whether the performance of these geotechnical approaches has changed during the ongoing process of climate warming.To investigate the performance variation of one of these geotechnical approaches,which is two-phase closed thermosyphon(TPCT),during sustained climate warming,we conducted a statistical analysis of soil temperature monitoring data in 2003-2020 from eight regular embankments and six TPCT embankments in our permafrost monitoring network.The results indicate that TPCT undeniably has a cooling effect on the permafrost beneath embankments,even rapidly eliminated previously formed taliks beneath embankment.However,further analysis reveals that the performance of TPCT has been weakening during sustained climate warming,which has confirmed by the re-forming of the taliks beneath embankment where they had been previously eliminated.Based on the current understanding,we attributed the weakening of thermosyphon performance to a significant reduction in the air temperature freezing index caused by ongoing climate warming.Through this study,we aimed to draw attention to the evolving performance of geotechnical approaches in permafrost regions amid climate warming,prompting necessary engineering innovations to address this situation and ensure the sustainable development of the permafrost region on the QTP.

Development and validation of a model integrating clinical and coronary lesion-based functional assessment for longterm risk prediction in PCI patients

OBJECTIVES To establish a scoring system combining the ACEF score and the quantitative blood flow ratio(QFR) to improve the long-term risk prediction of patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI).METHODS In this population-based cohort study, a total of 46 features, including patient clinical and coronary lesion characteristics, were assessed for analysis through machine learning models. The ACEF-QFR scoring system was developed using 1263consecutive cases of CAD patients after PCI in PANDA Ⅲ trial database. The newly developed score was then validated on the other remaining 542 patients in the cohort.RESULTS In both the Random Forest Model and the Deep Surv Model, age, renal function(creatinine), cardiac function(LVEF)and post-PCI coronary physiological index(QFR) were identified and confirmed to be significant predictive factors for 2-year adverse cardiac events. The ACEF-QFR score was constructed based on the developmental dataset and computed as age(years)/EF(%) + 1(if creatinine ≥ 2.0 mg/d L) + 1(if post-PCI QFR ≤ 0.92). The performance of the ACEF-QFR scoring system was preliminarily evaluated in the developmental dataset, and then further explored in the validation dataset. The ACEF-QFR score showed superior discrimination(C-statistic = 0.651;95% CI: 0.611-0.691, P < 0.05 versus post-PCI physiological index and other commonly used risk scores) and excellent calibration(Hosmer–Lemeshow χ^(2)= 7.070;P = 0.529) for predicting 2-year patient-oriented composite endpoint(POCE). The good prognostic value of the ACEF-QFR score was further validated by multivariable Cox regression and Kaplan–Meier analysis(adjusted HR = 1.89;95% CI: 1.18–3.04;log-rank P < 0.01) after stratified the patients into high-risk group and low-risk group.CONCLUSIONS An improved scoring system combining clinical and coronary lesion-based functional variables(ACEF-QFR)was developed, and its ability for prognostic prediction in patients with PCI was further validated to be significantly better than the post-PCI physiological

Dietary supplementation of benzoic acid and essential oils combination enhances intestinal resilience against LPS stimulation in weaned piglets

Background The benefits of combining benzoic acid and essential oils(BAO)to mitigate intestinal impairment during the weaning process have been well established,while the detailed underlying mechanism has not been fully elucidated.Previous research has primarily focused on the reparative effects of BAO on intestinal injury,while neglecting its potential in enhancing intestinal stress resistance.Methods In this study,we investigated the pre-protective effect of BAO against LPS-induced stress using a modified experimental procedure.Piglets were pre-supplemented with BAO for 14 d,followed by a challenge with LPS or saline to collect blood and intestinal samples.Results Our findings demonstrated that BAO supplementation led to significant improvements in piglets’final weight,average daily gain,and feed intake/body gain ratio.Additionally,BAO supplementation positively influenced the composition of intestinal microbiota,increasing beneficial Actinobacteriota and Alloprevotella while reducing harmful Desulfobacterota,Prevotella and Oscillospira.Furthermore,BAO supplementation effectively mitigated oxidative disturbances and inflammatory responses induced by acute LPS challenge.This was evidenced by elevated levels of T-AOC,SOD,and GSH,as well as decreased levels of MDA,TNF-α,and IL-6 in the plasma.Moreover,piglets subjected to LPS challenge and pre-supplemented with BAO exhibited significant improvements in intestinal morphological structure and enhanced integrity,as indicated by restored expression levels of Occludin and Claudin-1 compared to the non-supplemented counterparts.Further analysis revealed that BAO supplementation enhanced the jejunal antioxidative capacity by increasing GSH-Px levels and decreasing MDA levels under the LPS challenge and stimulated the activation of the Nrf2 signaling pathway.Additionally,the reduction of TLR4/NF-κB/MAPK signaling pathways activation and proinflammatory factor were also observed in the jejunal of those piglets fed with BAO.Conclusions In summary,our study demonstrates that

Efficacy of radiofrequency ablation combined with sorafenib for treating liver cancer complicated with portal hypertension and prognostic factors

BACKGROUND Patients with liver cancer complicated by portal hypertension present complex challenges in treatment.AIM To evaluate the efficacy of radiofrequency ablation in combination with sorafenib for improving liver function and its impact on the prognosis of patients with this condition.METHODS Data from 100 patients with liver cancer complicated with portal hypertension from May 2014 to March 2019 were analyzed and divided into a study group(n=50)and a control group(n=50)according to the treatment regimen.The research group received radiofrequency ablation(RFA)in combination with sorafenib,and the control group only received RFA.The short-term efficacy of both the research and control groups was observed.Liver function and portal hypertension were compared before and after treatment.Alpha-fetoprotein(AFP),glypican-3(GPC-3),and AFP-L3 levels were compared between the two groups prior to and after treatment.The occurrence of adverse reactions in both groups was observed.The 3-year survival rate was compared between the two groups.Basic data were compared between the survival and non-surviving groups.To identify the independent risk factors for poor prognosis in patients with liver cancer complicated by portal hypertension,multivariate logistic regression analysis was employed.RESULTS When comparing the two groups,the research group's total effective rate(82.00%)was significantly greater than that of the control group(56.00%;P<0.05).Following treatment,alanine aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase levels increased,and portal vein pressure decreased in both groups.The degree of improvement for every index was substantially greater in the research group than in the control group(P<0.05).Following treatment,the AFP,GPC-3,and AFP-L3 levels in both groups decreased,with the research group having significantly lower levels than the control group(P<0.05).The incidence of diarrhea,rash,nausea and vomiting,and fatigue in the research group was significantly greater than that in the control group(P<0.05).The 1-
