Twinning stress is known to be a critical factor for the actuating performance of magnetic shape memory alloys because of the harmful deterioration of their magnetic field-induced strain ***,the intrinsic origin of the high twinning stress is still in *** this work,we firstly fill this gap by precisely probing the reorientation behaviors of A-C and A-B two common macro-twin interfaces under the stimulus of uniaxial compression in-situ transmission electron *** grain boundary is proved to be the main reason for large twinning *** twinning stress of the A-C and A-B type interfaces quantitatively are~0.69 and 1.27 MPa within the plate *** A-C type interface evidently has smaller twinning stress and larger deformation variable than the A-B *** the action of compression,not only the orientations of the crystals have changed,but also the roles of the major and minor lamellae have changed for both interfaces due to the movements of twinning *** insitu and quasi in-situ electron diffraction data,the reorientation process is clearly and intuitively shown by the stereographic *** models and the theory of dislocation motion are proposed to phenomenologically clarify the intrinsic *** work is believed to not only provide a deeper understanding of the deformation mechanism of magnetic shape memory alloys under uniaxial compression testing,but also discover that compression training is not the mechanical training way to decrease the twinning stress of non-modulated martensite in single crystal shape memory alloys.

BACKGROUND Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)with tumor thrombus in the bile duct(BDTT)is easily misdiagnosed or mistreated due to the clinicopathological diversity of the thrombus and its relationship with primary *** To propose a new classification for HCC with BDTT in order to guide its diagnosis and *** A retrospective review of the diagnosis and treatment experience regarding seven typical HCC patients with BDTT between January 2010 and December 2019 was *** BDTT was preoperatively confirmed by computed tomography/magnetic resonance imaging in only four *** patients with recurrent HCC and one patient with first-occurring HCC had no visible intrahepatic tumors;of these,misdiagnosis occurred in two patients,and three patients *** patient was mistreated as having common bile duct stones,and another patient with a history of multiple recurrent HCC was misdiagnosed until obvious biliary dilation could be *** one patient who received hepatectomy accompanied by BDTT extraction exhibited disease-free survival during the follow-up period.A new classification was proposed for HCC with BDTT as follows:HCC with microscopic BDTT(Type Ⅰ);resectable primary or recurrent HCC mass in the liver with BDTT(Type Ⅱ);BDTT without an obvious HCC mass in the liver(Type Ⅲ)and BDTT accompanied with unresectable intra-or extrahepatic HCC lesions(Type Ⅳ).CONCLUSION We herein propose a new classification system for HCC with BDTT to reflect its pathological characteristics and emphasize the significance of primary tumor resectability in its treatment.

Covalent modification of multiwalled carbon nanotubes with a low molecular weight chitosan

Covalent modification of shortened multiwalled carbon nanombes （MWNTs） with a natural low molecular weight chitosan （LMCS） was accomplished by the nucleophilic substitution reaction. The LMCS modified MWNTs （MWNT-LMCS） were characterized by FTIR, solid-state ^13C NMR, and XPS spectroscopies, thermogravimetric analysis, and transmission electron microscopy. The results revealed that amino and primary hydroxyl groups of the LMCS participated mainly in the formation of the MWNT-LMCS conjugates. The MWNT-LMCS consists of 58 wt.% LMCS, and about four molecular chains of the LMCS were attached to 1000 carbon atoms of the nanotube sidewalls. As a novel derivative of the MWNTs, the MWNT-LMCS not only solved in DMF, DMAc and DMSO, but also in aqueous acetic acid solution.

Statistic Analysis on Quantitative Characteristics for Developing the DUS Test Guideline of Ranunculus asiaticus L.

Selection of quantitative characteristics, division of their expression ranges, and selection of example varieties are key issues on developing DUS Test Guidelines, which are more crucial for quantitative characteristics since their expressions vary in different degrees. Taking the development of DUS Test Guideline of Ranunculus asiaticus L. as an example, this paper applied statistic-based approaches for the analyses of quantitative characteristics. We selected 9 quantitative characteristics from 18 pre-selected characteristics, based on within-variety uniformity, stability between different growing cycles, and correlation among characteristics, by the analyses of coefficient of variation, paired-samples t-test and partial correlation. The expression ranges of the 9 selected quantitative characteristics were divided into different states using descriptive statistics and distribution frequency of varieties. Eight of the 9 selected quantitative characteristics were categorized as standard characteristics as they showed one peak in distribution frequency of 120 varieties in various expressions of the characteristics, whereas, plant height can be categorized as grouping characteristic since it gave two peaks, and can group the varieties into pot and cut varieties. Finally, box-plot was applied to visually select the example varieties, and varieties 7, 12, and 28 were determined as the example varieties for plant height. The methods described in this paper are effective for the selection of quantitative characteristics, division of expression ranges, and selection of example varieties in Ranunculus asiaticus L. for DUS test, and may also be interest for other plant genera.

The Three-River Headwaters(TRH)region in the Tibetan Plateau is vulnerable to climate change;changes in summer(June–August)precipitation have a significant impact on water security and sustainability in both local and downstream ***,the changes in summer precipitation of different intensities over the TRH region,along with their influencing factors,remain *** this study,we used observational and ERA5 reanalysis data and employed a precipitation categorization and water vapor budget analysis to quantify the categorized precipitation variations and investigate their possible linkages with the water vapor *** results showed an increasing trend in summer precipitation at a rate of 0.9 per year(p<0.1)during 1979–2020,with a significant dry-to-wet transition in *** category‘very heavy precipitation’(10 mm d−1)contributed 65.1%of the increased summer precipitation,which occurred frequently in the northern TRH *** dry-to-wet transition was caused by the effects of varied atmospheric circulations in each *** water vapor transport through the southern boundary was responsible for the increased net water vapor flux in the western TRH region(158.2%),while southeasterly water vapor transport through the eastern boundary was responsible for the increased net water vapor flux in the central TRH(155.2%)and eastern TRH(229.2%)***,we inferred that the dry-to-wet transition of summer precipitation and the increased‘very heavy precipitation’over the TRH was caused by increased easterly and southerly water vapor transport.

Hierarchical flower-like NiFe2O4 with core-shell structure for excellent toluene detection

The extensive use of toluene stimulates the effective detection by sensitive gas sensors based on unique ***,hierarchical flower-like NiFe_(2)O_(4) with core-shell architecture was synthesized by a facile hydrothermal method in the presence of urea and NH4 *** controllable experiments indicated that the burr spheres and football-like samples were produced with individual urea or NH4 *** flower-like NiFe_(2)O_(4) sensor exhibited outstanding sensitivity of 19.95 to 100×10^(-6) toluene with low detection limit(1×10^(-6)).Furthermore,the sensor showed superior sensing selectivity and longterm stability to *** excellent sensing properties could largely arise from a combination of high surface area,numerous active sites,porous structures,and the native catalytic characteristics of NiFe2 O4 to facilitate toluene molecules adsorption,diffusion,and reaction.

Changes of chlorogenic acid content and its synthesis-associated genes expression in Xuehua pear fruit during development

According to synthetic pathway of plant chlorogenic acid （CGA）, the expression patterns of genes encoding enzymes that are associated with CGA synthesis were studied in normally developed Xuehua pear fruit. The study demonstrated that CGA content in peel and flesh of Xuehua pear decreased as fruit development progressed, with a higher level in peel. The expression levels of PbPAL 1, PbPAL2, PbC3H, PbC4H, Pb4CL 1, Pb4CL2, Pb4CL6, PbHC T1 and PbHC T3 genes decreased in fruit, which was consistent with the pattern of variation in CGA content. That indicated that these genes might be key genes for influencing fruit CGA synthesis in Xuehua pear. However, Pb4CL7 gene expression profile is not consistent with variation of CGA content, hence, it may not be a key gene involved in CGA synthesis.

Stress response characteristics of BFRP anchors on loess mudstone slope under rainfall conditions

To investigate the stress response characteristics and shear stress transfer mechanism of BFRP(basalt fiber reinforced plastics)anchors under rainfall conditions and to explore the reinforcement effect of BFRP anchors,a comparative indoor physical model test was conducted in this study using loess mudstone slope as a typical case,and multi-attribute response data,such as slope displacement,BFRP anchor strain and axial force,were *** on the variation law of slope displacement,it can be concluded that the deformation displacement of the slope on the side reinforced by BFRP anchors is smaller than that of slopes reinforced with steel anchors;the bearing capacity of BFRP anchor is given priority in time,and the anchoring effect of BFRP anchor at the top of the slope is given priority,and the axial force value of anchor is characterized by a surface amplification effect in space;the axial force is higher around the anchor head and tends to decay as a negative exponential function as the anchor extends in the direction of the interior of the slope;the shear stress of BFRP anchor and anchorage body are unevenly distributed along the axial direction,with the maximum value occurring in the free section near the slope surface and decreases as the BFRP anchor extends towards the interior of the *** results can provide a theoretical basis for the optimal design of BFRP anchors.
