BACKGROUND Lipoprotein(a)[Lp(a)]has been closely related to coronary atherosclerosis and might affect perivascular in-flammation due to its proinflammatory ***,there are limited data about Lp(a)and related perivascular inflam-mation on coronary atheroma ***,this study aimed to investigate the associations between Lp(a)and the peri-vascular fat attenuation index(FAI)with coronary atheroma progression detected by coronary computed tomography angio-graphy(CCTA).METHODS Patients who underwent serial CCTA examinations without a history of revascularization and with available data for Lp(a)within one month before or after baseline and follow-up CCTA imaging scans were considered to be *** quantitative analyses were performed to obtain the total plaque volume(TPV)and the perivascular *** plaque pro-gression(PP)was defined as a≥10%increase in the change of the TPV at the patient level or the presence of new-onset coronary atheroma *** associations between Lp(a)or the perivascular FAI with PP were examined by multivariate logistic *** A total of 116 patients were ultimately enrolled in the present study with a mean CCTA interscan interval of 30.80±13.50 *** the 116 patients(mean age:53.49±10.21 years,males:83.6%),32 patients presented PP during the follow-up ***(a)levels were significantly higher among PP patients than those among non-PP patients at both baseline[15.80(9.09−33.60)mg/dL vs.10.50(4.75−19.71)mg/dL,P=0.029]and follow-up[20.60(10.45−34.55)mg/dL vs.8.77(5.00−18.78)mg/dL,P=0.004].However,there were no differences in the perivascular FAI between PP group and non-PP group at either baseline or *** logistic regression analysis showed that elevated baseline Lp(a)level(OR=1.031,95%CI:1.005−1.058,P=0.019)was an independent risk factor for PP after adjustment for other conventional *** Lp(a)was independently associated with coronary atheroma pr

Development and validation of a model integrating clinical and coronary lesion-based functional assessment for longterm risk prediction in PCI patients

OBJECTIVES To establish a scoring system combining the ACEF score and the quantitative blood flow ratio(QFR) to improve the long-term risk prediction of patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI).METHODS In this population-based cohort study, a total of 46 features, including patient clinical and coronary lesion characteristics, were assessed for analysis through machine learning models. The ACEF-QFR scoring system was developed using 1263consecutive cases of CAD patients after PCI in PANDA Ⅲ trial database. The newly developed score was then validated on the other remaining 542 patients in the *** In both the Random Forest Model and the Deep Surv Model, age, renal function(creatinine), cardiac function(LVEF)and post-PCI coronary physiological index(QFR) were identified and confirmed to be significant predictive factors for 2-year adverse cardiac events. The ACEF-QFR score was constructed based on the developmental dataset and computed as age(years)/EF(%) + 1(if creatinine ≥ 2.0 mg/d L) + 1(if post-PCI QFR ≤ 0.92). The performance of the ACEF-QFR scoring system was preliminarily evaluated in the developmental dataset, and then further explored in the validation dataset. The ACEF-QFR score showed superior discrimination(C-statistic = 0.651;95% CI: 0.611-0.691, P < 0.05 versus post-PCI physiological index and other commonly used risk scores) and excellent calibration(Hosmer–Lemeshow χ^(2)= 7.070;P = 0.529) for predicting 2-year patient-oriented composite endpoint(POCE). Effect of slag composition on kinetic behavior of deep deoxidation of 5 wt.% Si high-silicon austenitic stainless steel

Based on a thermodynamic study of 5 wt.%Si high-silicon austenitic stainless steel(SS-5Si)smelting using CaF_(2)-CaO-Al_(2)0_(3)-Mg-Si0_(2) slag to obtain a low oxygen content of less than 10×10^(-4) wt.%,a kinetic mass transfer model for deep deoxidation was established through laboratory studies,and the effects of slag components and temperature on deoxidation during the slag-steel reaction process of sS-5Si were systematically *** experimental data verified the accuracy of the model *** results showed that the final oxygen content in the steel at 1873 K was mainly controlled by the oxygen content derived from the activity of SiO_(2) regulated by the[Si]-[O]equilibrium reaction in the slag system;in particular,when the slag basicity R(R=w(CaO)/w(SiO2),where w(CaO)and w(SiO_(2))are the contents of CaO and SiO_(2) in the slag,respectively)is 3,the Al2O3 content in the slag needs to be less than 2.7%.The mass transfer rate equation for the kinetics of the deoxidation reaction revealed that the mass transfer of oxygen in the liquid metal is the rate-controlling step under different slag conditions at 1873 K,and the oxygen transfer coefficient ko.m increases with increasing the slag basicity from 4.0×10^(-6)m s^(-1)(R=1)to 4.3×10^(-5) m s^(-1)(R=3).ko.m values at R=2 and R=3 are almost the same,indicating that high slag basicity has little *** integral of the mass transfer rate equation for the deoxidation reaction of SS-5Si under different slag conditions is *** total oxygen content of the molten steel decreases with increasing basicity from an initial content of 22×10^(-4) to 3.2×10^(-4) wt.%(R=3),consistent with the change in ko.m with slag *** R=2,the slag-steel reaction takes 15 min to reach equilibrium(w[O]=5.5×10^(-4) wt.%),whereas at R=3,the slag-steel reaction takes 30 min to reach equilibrium(w[0]=3.2×10^(-4) wt.%).Considering the depth of deoxidation and reaction time of SS-5Si smelting,it is recommended the slag b

Mycoplasma pneumoniae(***)is one of the most important pathogens for community-acquired pneumonia worldwide,especially in children and adolescents[1,2].*** is easily transmitted through droplets or direct contact in densely populated,enclosed,or poorly ventilated *** incubation period is 1-3 weeks,and it is contagious from the incubation period to a few weeks after clinical symptom *** infection can occur in any season,and there are differences in the epidemic seasons among regions in China[3].The most suitable culture temperature for *** is between 35℃C and 37 C,and therefore,hot weather may make it survive longer in the environment and spread *** is more common in autumn and winter in northern China,while it is more prevalent in summer and autumn in southern China.

The advancement of integrated optical communication networks necessitates the deployment of on-chip beam splitters for efficient signal interconnections at network ***,the pursuit of micron-scale beam splitting with large corners and reducing the device footprint to boost connection flexibility often results in phase *** mismatches,which stem from radiation modes and backward scattering,pose significant obstacles in creating highly integrated and interference-resistant *** address this,we introduce a solution based on the topological valley-contrasting state generated by photonic crystals with opposing valley Chern numbers,manifested in a harpoon-shaped structure designed to steer the splitting *** approach enables adiabatic mode field evolution over large corners,capitalizing on the robust phase modulation capabilities and topological protection provided by the subwavelength-scale valley-contrasting *** demonstration reveals that beam splitters with large corners of 60°,90°,and 120°exhibit insertion loss fluctuations below 2.7 dB while maintaining a minimal footprint of 8.8μm×8.8μ*** a practical demonstration,these devices facilitate three-channel signal connections,successfully transmitting quadrature phase shift keying signals at 3.66 Tbit/s with bit error rates below the forward error correction threshold,demonstrating performance comparable to that in defects *** harnessing the unidirectional excitation feature,we anticipate significant enhancements in the capabilities of signal distribution and connection networks through a daisy chain configuration.

Aging is an inevitable physiological process,often accompanied by age-related bone loss and subsequent bone-related diseases that pose serious health *** on skeletal diseases caused by aging in humans is challenging due to lengthy study durations,difficulties in sampling,regional variability,and substantial ***,mice are preferred for such studies due to their similar motor system structure and function to humans,ease of handling and care,low cost,and short generation *** this review,we present a comprehensive overview of the characteristics,limitations,applicability,bone phenotypes,and treatment methods in naturally aging mice and prematurely aging mouse models(including SAMP6,POLG mutant,LMNA,SIRT6,ZMPSTE24,TFAM,ERCC1,WERNER,and KL/KL-deficient mice).We also summarize the molecular mechanisms of these aging mouse models,including cellular DNA damage response,senescence-related secretory phenotype,telomere shortening,oxidative stress,bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell(BMSC)abnormalities,and mitochondrial ***,this review aims to enhance our understanding of the pathogenesis of aging-related bone diseases.
