Malus hupehensis （Pamp.） Rehd. is a widely cultivated rootstock in China. We studied the effect of three NO3-/NH4＋ ratios （100/0, 50/50, and 0/100, molar basis） at total nitrogen （N） concentration of 8 mmoL L-1 in a nutrient solution on M. hupehensis seedlings. Plant biomass, NO3- and NH4＋concentrafion, chlorophyll con- tent, respiratory rate, and cellular structure were investi- gated. M. hupehensis seedlings at the NO3-/NH4＋ ratio of 50/50 had the highest level of fresh weight, dry weight, shoot length, and chlorophyll （a, b, and a ＋ b） content, but the lowest respiration rate in the leavesand roots. In addition, thickness and numbers of palisade and spongy tissue cells of the leaves were greater with this treatment than with other treatments. At the NO3-/NH4＋ ratio of 100/0, the leaves and roots had higher NO3- concentration and lower NH4＋ concentration. However, the opposite trend occurred at the NO3-/NH4＋ ratio of 0/100. Chloro- phyll （a, b, and a ＋ b） content was lowest at the NO3-/NH4＋ ratio of 100/0 than at the other ratios. At the NO3-/ NH4＋ ratio of 0/100, oxygen （02） consumption increased in the leaves and roots, and irregular epidermis and cortex cells were observed in the root apical meristematic and mature region. Our results indicated that the NO3-INH4＋ ratio at 50/50 was suitable for growth of M. hupehensis seedling to achieve the highest biomass production and efficiency.

The Yali pear（Pyrus bretschneideri Rehd.） is susceptible to superficial scald during prolonged cold storage and at shelf life. This study investigated the effects of 1-methylcyclopropene（1-MCP） and modified atmosphere packaging（MAP） on changes of fruit quality and superficial scald during cold storage and at shelf life in Yali pear. Compared with MAP, the combination of MAP and 1-MCP（MAP＋1-MCP） treatment reduced the carbon dioxide and ethylene content inside the packaging bag. The 1-MCP, MAP, and MAP＋1-MCP treatments reduced the superficial scald index, malondialdehyde content, O2^-· production rate and relative conductivity and inhibited the accumulation of α-farnesene and conjugated trienes in the peel. 1-MCP and MAP＋1-MCP treatments maintained a higher phenolic content and enhanced the catalase and superoxide dismutase activities in the fruit, while reduced activities of lipoxygenase and polyphenol oxidase in the peel preceding the onset of superficial scald. Comprehensive analysis indicated that the MAP＋1-MCP treatment is the most effective method tested for improving the quality of Yali pears during cold storage and at shelf life.

Quantum state preparation plays an equally important role as quantum operations and measurements in quantum information processing. The previous methods for initialization require either an exponential number of experiments, or cause signal reduction or place restrictions on molecular structures. In this study, we propose three types of quantum circuits for preparing the pseudo-pure states of(n-1) qubits in the n-coupled Hilbert space, which simply needs the assistance of one ancilla spin and two different experiments independent of n. Most importantly, our methods work well on homo-nuclear and hetero-nuclear molecules without the reduction of signals in the gradient field. As a proof-of-principle demonstration, we experimentally prepared the pseudo-pure states of heteronuclear 2-qubit and homonuclear 4-qubit molecules using a nuclear magnetic resonance quantum information processor.

Sialylation is one of important glycosylation in human beings and plays an important role in cancer development. α2,3-Linked and α2,6-linked sialic acids are normally observed on the end of N-glycans and have different functions. Derivatization on sialic acid was designed to detect the different linkages by MALDI-TOF MS. In this study, a two-step derivatization by dimethylamine and ammonium hydroxide was improved to modify the sialic acid and made it easier to detect the different linkages of sialic acids on MALDI-TOF MS. Using this derivatization method, specific sialic acids linkages on N-glycans of protein samples such as fetuin and lactoferrin were detected. For complex cell samples, increased a2,3-linked and a2,6-linked sialic acids on bi-antennary and tri-antennary N-glycans were observed in A549 cells induced by hypoxia environment. Taken together, our two-step derivatization of sialic acids offers a simple and accurate way to detect specific linkages on N-glycans with MALDI-TOF mass spectrometer.

Effect of La on microstructure,mechanical properties and fracture behavior of Al/Mg bimetallic interface manufactured by compound casting

To improve the Al/Mg bimetallic interface,La was added into the Al/Mg bimetallic interface manufactured by a compound casting *** effect of La addition on the microstructure,mechanical properties and fracture behavior of the Al/Mg bimetallic interface and the formation mechanism of the interface were studied in ***_(11)La_(3),Al_(8)Mn_(4)La,Al_(20)Ti_(2)La,and other rare earth precipitates(RE precipitates)preferentially precipitated at the interface with La addition,while the number of the Al_(11)La_(3)and Al_(8)Mn_(4)La located in eutectic structure area(E area)gradually increased and aggregated in the interface with the increase of the La ***,the matrix structure in different areas of the Al/Mg interface changed in different degrees,and the eutectic structure and primaryγ(Mg_(17)Al_(12))dendrites in the E area were refned,but the intermetallic compounds area(IMC area)had no obvious *** the addition of the La,the interface was strengthened under the comprehensive effect of refnement strengthening and precipitation strengthening from the E *** the La content increased to 1.0%,the shear strength of the Al/Mg bimetal reached the maximum of 51.54 MPa,which was 30.95%higher than the group without La ***,with the further increase of the La content,the large area aggregation of the Al_(11)La_(3)and Al_(8)Mn_(4)La occurred in the interface,leading to the separation of the matrix structure of the E area and the decrease of the shear strength of the Al/Mg interface.

Objective:To compare the safety differences between Chinese medicine(CM)and Western medicine(WM)based on Chinese Spontaneous Reporting Database(CSRD).Methods:Reports of adverse events(AEs)caused by CM and WM in the CSRD between 2010 and 2011 were *** following assessment indicators were constructed:the proportion of serious AEs(PSE),the average number of AEs(ANA),and the coverage rate of AEs(CRA).Further comparisons were also conducted,including the drugs with the most reported serious AEs,the AEs with the biggest report number,and the 5 serious AEs of interest(including death,anaphylactic shock,coma,dyspnea and abnormal liver function).Results:The PSE,ANA and CRA of WM were 1.09,8.23 and 2.35 times higher than those of CM,*** top 10 drugs with the most serious AEs were mainly injections for CM and antibiotics for *** AEs with the most reports were rash,pruritus,nausea,dizziness and vomiting for both CM and *** proportions of CM and WM in anaphylactic shock and coma were *** abnormal liver function and death,the proportions of WM were 5.47 and 3.00 times higher than those of CM,***:Based on CSRD,CM was safer than WM at the average level from the perspective of adverse drug reactions.

Preparation, interfacial regulation and strengthening of Mg/Al bimetal fabricated by compound casting: A review

Mg/Al bimetal combines the advantages of both aluminum and magnesium and has broad application prospects in automotive, aerospace,weapons, digital products and so on. The compound casting has the characteristics of low cost, easy to achieve metallurgical combination and suitable for the preparation of complex bimetallic parts. However, bimetallic joint strength is low due to differences of physical properties between Al and Mg, oxide film on metallic surface and interfacial Al-Mg IMCs, which is closely related to the interfacial microstructure and properties. Therefore, how to control the interface of the bimetal to achieve performance enhancement is the focus and difficulty in this field. At present, there are mainly the following strengthening methods. First, the “zincate galvanizing” and “electrolytic polishing+anodic oxidation” technology were exert on the surface of Al alloy to remove and break the oxide film, which improved the wettability between Al and Mg. Second, the undesirable Al-Mg IMCs were reduce or elimination by adding the interlayers(Zn, Ni and Ni-Cu). Thirdly, the evolution process of interfacial microstructure was changed and fine strengthening phases were formed by adding Si element to Al alloy or rare earth element to Mg alloy. Fourthly, mechanical vibration and ultrasonic vibration were applied in the process of the filling and solidification to refine and homogenize the interfacial structure. Finally, some other methods, including secondary rolling, thermal modification, heat treatment and constructing exterior 3D morphology, also can be used to regulate the interfacial microstructure and compositions. The above strengthening methods can be used alone or in combination to achieve bimetallic strengthening. Finally, the future development direction of the Mg/Al bimetal is prospected, which provides some new ideas for the development and application of the Mg/Al bimetal.

Dinitrogen (N2) and proton (H+),which act as physiological substrates of nitrogenase,are reduced on FeMo-co of the MoFe protein. However,researchers have different opinions about their exact reduction sites. Nitrogenases were purified from the wild type (WT) and five mutants of Azotobacter vinelandii (Av),including Qα191K,Hα195Q,nifV-,Qα191K/nifV- and Hα195Q/nifV-; and the activities of these en-zymes for N2 and H+ reduction were analyzed. Our results suggest that the Fe2 and Fe6,atoms closed to the central sulfur atom (S2B) within FeMo-co,are sites for N2 binding and reduction and the Mo atom of FeMo-co is the site for H+ reduction. Combining these data with further bioinformatical analysis,we propose that two parallel electron channels may exist between the 8Fe7S cluster and FeMo-co.

Effect of vibration on interfacial microstructure and mechanical properties of Mg/Al bimetal prepared by a novel compound casting

In this work,a vibration was applied in the preparation of the Mg/Al bimetal by a novel compound casting in order to improve the mechanical properties of the Mg/Al bimetal,and the effect of the vibration on the interfacial microstructure and mechanical properties of the Mg/Al bimetal was *** results indicated that the vibration had a significant effect on the interfacial microstructure and mechanical properties of the Mg/Al bimetal,but it did not change the phase compositions of the interface,which was composed of layerⅠ(Al3Mg2+Mg2Si),layerⅡ(Al_(12)Mg_(17)+Mg_(2)Si)and layerⅢ(Al_(12)Mg_(17)/δ-Mg).Without vibration,the Mg_(2)Si phase with a needle-like morphology mainly aggregated in the layerⅡof the *** the application of the vibration,the SEM and EBSD analysis results showed that the Mg_(2)Si and Al3Mg2phases in the interface were obviously refined,and the distribution of the Mg_(2)Si became more uniform,due to the strong forced convection of the molten metal resulting from the *** TEM analysis indicated that the interface between the A_(l3)Mg_(2) and Mg_(2)Si phases was non-coherent,suggesting the Mg_(2)Si particles cannot act as a heterogeneous nucleation base during the solidification process of the *** to the Mg/Al bimetal without vibration,the shear strength of the Mg/Al bimetal with vibration increased by about 50%from 31.7 MPa on average to 47.5 MPa,and the hardness of the layer I of the interface increased,and the hardness of the layerⅢ*** fracture surface transformed from a flat fracture morphology without vibration to an irregular zigzag fracture morphology.
