Multiple myeloma(MM)is a hematological tumor with high mortality and recurrence *** is a new-generation proteasome inhibitor that is used as the first-line therapy for ***,the development of drug resistance is a pervasive obstacle to treating ***,elucidating the drug resistance mechanisms is conducive to the formulation of novel therapeutic *** elucidate the mechanisms of carfilzomib resistance,we retrieved the GSE78069 microarray dataset containing carfilzomib-resistant LP-1 MM cells and parental MM *** gene expression analyses revealed major alterations in the major histocompatibility complex(MHC)and cell adhesion *** upregulation of the tumor necrosis factor(TNF)receptor superfamily member 1A(TNFRSF1A)gene was accompanied by the downregulation of MHC genes and cell adhesion ***,to investigate the roles of these genes,we established a carfilzomib-resistant cell model and observed that carfilzomib resistance induced TNFRSF1A overexpression and TNFRSF1A silencing reversed carfilzomib resistance and reactivated the expression of cell adhesion ***,TNFRSF1A silencing suppressed the tumorigenesis of MM cells in immunocompetent mice,indicating that TNFRSF1A may lead to carfilzomib resistance by dampening antitumor ***,our results indicated that TNFRSF1A overexpression conferred carfilzomib resistance in MM cells and suppressed the expression of MHC genes and cell adhesion *** suppression of MHC genes and cell adhesion molecules may impair the interaction between immune cells and cancer cells to impair antitumor *** studies are warranted to further investigate the signaling pathway underlying the regulatory role of TNFRSF1A in MM cells.

Doping foreign metal atoms into the substrate of transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDs)enables the formation of diverse atomic structure configurations,including isolated atoms,chains,and ***,it is very important to reasonably control the atomic structure and determine the structure-activity relationship between the atomic configurations and the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)*** numerous studies have indicated that doping can yield diverse atomic structure configurations,there remains an incomplete understanding of the relationship between atomic configurations within the lattice of TMDs and their ***,diverse atomic structure configurations of adsorptive doping,substitutional doping,and TMDs alloys are *** structure-activity relationship between different atomic configurations and HER performance can be determined by micro-nanostructure devices and density functional theory(DFT)*** diverse atomic structure configurations are of great significance for activating the inert basal plane of TMDs and improving the catalytic activity of ***,we have summarized the current challenges and future opportunities,offering new perspectives for the design of highly active and stable metal-doped TMDs catalysts.

Composition characterization and transformation mechanism of dissolved organic phosphorus in wastewater treatment using 31P NMR spectroscopy

The migration and transformation of phosphorus components in wastewater treatment plants(WWTPs)play a crucial role in the convergence and circulation of ***,the composition and variation of dissolved organic phosphorus(DOP)in WWTPs were unclear because of its complex nature,hindering its efficient *** this study,the DOP species and their transformation during the treatment process in WWTP were comprehensively ***,two enrichment methods were assessed for their effectiveness at facilitating wastewater analysis:lyophilization and aluminum salt *** salt precipitation was found to be better because its application allowed 31P nuclear magnetic resonance(31P NMR)spectroscopy to identify more species in the secondary effluent:orthophosphate(Ortho-P)(81.1%–89.3%of the dissolved total phosphorus),pyrophosphates(Pyro-P)(0%–2.3%),orthophosphate monoesters(Mono-P)(7.0%–10.77%),orthophosphate diesters(Di-P)(1.0%–2.96%),and phosphonate(Phos-P)(1.7%–5.16%).Furthermore,the variation and transformation mechanism of phosphorus,particularly those of DOP,during the entire sewage-treatment process were *** the treatment steps,biological treatment combined tertiary treatment achieved better DOP removal ***,biological treatment mainly removed Mono-P and Di-P with removal efficiencies of 33.3%and 41.7%compared with the effluent of the grit ***-P has higher bioavailability and is more easily converted and utilized by microorganisms than ***,Phos-P,with low bioavailability,was hardly utilized by microorganisms,which showed only 18.4%removal efficiency in biological *** tertiary treatment,coagulation process exhibited higher removal ability of Ortho-P(69.1%)and partial removal efficiencies of DOP,resulting in an increase in the DOP proportion in *** addition,Phos-P could not be effectively removed through the biological treatment and was only partially reduced via the adsorption pro

Parkinson’s disease(PD)is a prevalent neurodegenerative disorder accompanied by movement disorders and neuroinflammatory ***-inflammatory intervention to regulate oxidative stress in the brain is beneficial for managing ***,traditional natural antioxidants have failed to meet the clinical treatment demands due to insufficient activity and ***,Cu-doping zeolite imidazolate framework-8(ZIF-8)nanozyme is designed to simulate Cu/Zn superoxide dismutase(SOD)by biomimetic *** nanozyme composite is then integrated into thermosensitive hydrogel(poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid)-poly(ethylene glycol)-poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid)(PLGA-PEG-PLGA))to form an effective antioxidant system(Cu-ZIF@Hydrogel).The thermosensitive hydrogel incorporating nanozymes demonstrate distinct viscoelastic properties aimed at enhancing local nanozyme adhesion,prolonging nanozyme retention time,and modulating antioxidant activity,thus significantly improving the bioavailability of *** the cellular and animal levels of PD,we find that Cu-ZIF@Hydrogel bypass the blood-brain barrier and efficiently accumulate in the nerve ***,the Cu-ZIF@Hydrogel significantly alleviate the PD’s behavioral and pathological symptoms by reducing the neuroinflammatory levels in the lesion ***,the hydrogel-incorporating nanozyme system holds great potential as a simple and reliable avenue for managing PD.

Sulfated zero-valent iron(SZVI)has shown promising applications in wastewater ***,the rapid decline in the reactivity of SZVI with time limits its real *** mediate this problem,partial aging was proposed to improve the reactive durability of *** Cr(VI)as the target contaminant,we found that the aged ZVI(AZVI)gradually lost reactivity as aging time increased from 0.5 to 2 ***-intuitively,the partially aged SZVI(ASZVI)showed greater reactivity than SZVI when exposed to oxygenated water for a period ranging from 0.5 to 14 *** addition,the ASZVI with 0.5 d of aging time(ASZVI-0.5)not only maintained reactivity in successive runs but also increased the Cr(VI)removal capacity from 9.1 mg/g by SZVI to 19.1 mg/g by *** analysis further revealed that the electron transfer from the Fe0 core to the shell was mediated by the conductive FeS and FeS2 in the subshell of ***,the lepidocrocite and magnetite on the surface of ASZVI facilitated Cr(VI)adsorption and subsequent electron transfer for Cr(VI)***,the iron(hydr)oxide shell could retain the conductive FeS and FeS2 in the subshell,allowing ASZVI to reduce Cr(VI)efficiently and *** general,partial aging can enhance the reactive durability of ZVI when coupled with sulfidation and this synergistic effect will be beneficial to the application of SZVI-based technology for wastewater treatment.

Gastric cancer(GC)is one of the most common gastrointestinal *** a newly discovered type of non-coding RNAs,transfer RNA(tRNA)-derived small RNAs(tsRNAs)play a dual biological role in *** previous studies have demonstrated the potential of tRF-23-Q99P9P9NDD as a diagnostic and prognostic biomarker for *** this work,we confirmed for the first time that tRF-23-Q99P9P9NDD can promote the proliferation,migration,and invasion of GC cells in *** dual luciferase reporter gene assay confirmed that tRF-23-Q99P9P9NDD could bind to the 3'untranslated region(UTR)site of acyl-coenzyme A dehydrogenase short/branched chain(ACADSB).In addition,ACADSB could rescue the effect of tRF-23-Q99P9P9NDD on GC ***,we used Gene Ontology(GO),the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG),and Gene Set Enrichment Analysis(GSEA)to find that downregulated ACADSB in GC may promote lipid accumulation by inhibiting fatty acid catabolism and ***,we verified the correlation between ACADSB and 12 ferroptosis genes at the transcriptional level,as well as the changes in reactive oxygen species(ROS)levels by flow *** summary,this study proposes that tRF-23-Q99P9P9NDD may affect GC lipid metabolism and ferroptosis by targeting ACADSB,thereby promoting GC *** provides a theoretical basis for the diagnostic and prognostic monitoring value of GC and opens upnew possibilities for treatment.

Single-atom catalysts(SACs)with high catalytic activity as well as great stability are demonstrating great promotion in electrocatalytic energy conversion,which is also a big challenge to ***,we proposed a facile synthetic strategy to construct nickel-iron bimetallic hydroxide nanoribbon stabilized single-atom iridium catalysts(Ir-NiFe-OH),where the nickel-iron hydroxide nanoribbon not only can serve as good electronic conductor,but also can well stabilize and fully expose single-atom *** as catalyst for urea oxidation reaction(UOR),it exhibited excellent UOR performance that it only needed a low operated potential of 1.38 V to achieve the current density of 100 mA·cm^(-2).In-situ Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,X-ray absorption spectrum,and density functional theory calculations proved that Ir species are active centers and the existence of both Ni and Fe in the local structure of Ir atom can optimize the d-band center of Ir species,promoting the adsorption of intermediates and desorption of products for *** hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)/UOR electrocatalytic cell demanded voltages of 1.46 and 1.50 V to achieve 50 and 100 mA·cm^(-2),respectively,which demonstrated a higher activity and better stability than those of conventional *** work opens a new avenue to develop catalysts for UORs with boosted activity and stability.
