The worldwide chicken gene pool encompasses a remarkable,but shrinking,number of divergently selected breeds of diverse *** study was a large-scale genome-wide analysis of the landscape of the complex molecular architecture,genetic variability,and detailed structure among 49 *** populations represent a significant sample of the world's chicken breeds from Europe(Russia,Czech Republic,France,spain,UK,etc.),Asia(China),North America(UsA),and Oceania(Australia).Based on the results of breed genotyping using the Illumina 60K single nucleotide polymorphism(sNP)chip,a bioinformatic analysis was carried *** included the calculation of heterozygosity/homozygosity statistics,inbreeding coefficients,and effective population *** also included assessment of linkage disequilibrium and construction of phylogenetic *** multidimensional scaling,principal component analysis,and ADMIXTURE-assisted global ancestry analysis,we explored the genetic structure of populations and subpopulations in each *** overall 49-population phylogeny analysis was also performed,and a refined evolutionary model of chicken breed formation was proposed,which included egg,meat,dual-purpose types,and ambiguous *** a large-scale survey of genetic resources in poultry farming using modern genomic methods is of great interest both from the viewpoint of a general understanding of the genetics of the domestic chicken and for the further development of genomic technologies and approaches in poultry *** general,whole genome sNP genotyping of promising chicken breeds from the worldwide gene pool will promote the further development of modern genomic science as applied to poultry.

single zircon LAM-ICPMs U-Pb dating indi-cates that the Guidong granitic complex is a multistage ba-tholith formed during Indosinian-Yanshanian time. The Luxi body (239 ± 5 Ma) and the Xiazhuang body (235.8 ± 7.6 Ma) intruded during Indosinian time, whereas the Aizi body (160.1 ± 6.1 Ma) and the siqian body (151 ± 11 Ma) formed during Yanshanian time. Inherited zircons (1275—2137 Ma) in the Xiazhuang body imply that at least part of the source rocks of the Guidong complex are from the Proterozoic basement of southeast China. Detailed single zirconLAM-ICPMs U-Pb dating results provide important evi-dence for understanding the evolution, tectonic setting andmineralisation of the complex.

Determination of Calcium in Olivine by Proton Microprobe and Its Implication

Ca is a minor component of olivine (oliv). Its concentration measured by electron microprobe (EMP) is about 0.1—0.5%, which is close to the minimum detection limit. Knowledge of the trace element distributions and concentrations in main mineral phases of mantle-derived rocks is particularly useful for understanding the partial melting, depletion and enrichment processes, and metasomatism in the earth’s mantle. U-Pb dating of zircons from quartz diorite and its enclaves at Tongguanshan in Anhui and its petrogenetic implication

The genesis of intermediate-silicic intrusive rocks and their enclaves in Tongling are closely related to Fe, Cu mineralization, which may provide petrologic informa- tion on lithospheric dynamics in this region. Tongguanshan quartz diorite and its enclaves, representatives of the Meso- zoic intermediate-silicic intrusive rocks in the Tongling area, were studied using approaches of petrography, electron microprobe mineral chemistry and the LA-ICPMs zircon U-Pb dating. The chemical compositions of pyroxene and amphibole in pyroxene-amphibole cumulate, quartz-diorite host rock from Tongguanshan show correlative variations. The Al contents of the minerals in pyroxene-amphibole cu- mulate are higher than those in the host rocks, indicating that the cumulate crystals were crystallized before the em- placement of host magma. The consistent mineral chemical compositions between the Tongguanshan quartz diorite and the microgranular diorite enclave indicate that the enclave and host rock were crystallized under similar conditions and therefore are closely genetically related. The LA-ICPMs zircon U-Pb dating suggests that the crystallization age of Tongguanshan quartz diorite is 137.5±1.1 Ma, consistent with the previous dates by different methods. However, the present U-Pb dating also revealed the presence of late- Archean relict cores, demonstrating that older lower crustal materials were involved in the generation of Mesozoic mag- matic rocks in this area. Furthermore, the dating results show that the crystallization age of the microgranular diorite enclave is 137.5 ±2.4 Ma, the same as the crystallization age of the host magma. By integrating the previous sr-Nd-Pb isotope data, it is also discussed the petrogenesis of quartz diorite and its enclaves in Tongguanshan.

Hydrothermal carbonization of livestock mortality for the reduction of pathogens and microbially-derived DNA

Hydrothermal carbonization （HTC）, utilizing high temperature and pressure, has the potential to treat agricultural waste via inactivating pathogens, antibiotic resistance genes （ARG）, and contaminants of emerging concern （CEC） in a environmental and economical manner. Livestock mortality is one facet of agricultural waste that can pose a threat to the surrounding environment. While several methods are utilized to treat livestock mortality, there remains a paucity of data on the elimination of microbially- derived DNA in these treatment practices. This DNA, most notably ARGs, if it survives treatment can be reintroduced in agricultural environments where it could potentially be passed to pathogens, posing a risk to animal and human populations. HTC treatments have been successfully utilized for the treatment of CECs, however very little is understood on how ARGs survive HTC treatment. This study aims to fill this knowledge gap by examining the survivability ofmicrobially-derived DNA in the HTC treatment of livestock mortality. We examined three treatment temperatures （100℃, 150℃, and 200℃） at autogenic pressures at three treatment times （30, 60, and 240 min）. We examined the amplification of a plasmid-bome reporter gene carried by Escherichia coli DH 10B introduced to both beef bone and tissue. Results indicate that while all three temperatures, at all treatment times, were suitable for complete pathogen kill, only temperatures of 150℃ and 200℃ were sufficient for eliminating microbial DNA. These results serve as the basis for future potential HTC treatment recommendations for livestock mortality when considering the elimination of pathogens and ARGs.

Three stages of Zircon Growth in Magmatic Rocks from the Pingtan Complex,Eastern China

Morphological and chemical studies on zircon grains from gabbro and granite of the Pingtan magmatic complex, Fujian Province, eastern China, show that there are three stages of zircon growth. The early stage of zircon growth is characterized by colorlessness, high transparence and birefringence, low and dispersive Ipr and Ipy, weak and homogeneous BsE brightness, lower Hf content and depletion of U, Th and Y; the middle stage is characterized by abruptly increasing lpy, progressively strong and sectoral-zoning BsE brightness, higher Hf content and enrichment of U, Th and Y with Th/U 〉 1; the late stage of growth is characterized by brownish color, poor transparence, low birefringence, highest Ipr and Ipy, middle and oscillatorily-zoning BsE brightness, highest contents of Hf, U and Y with Th/U 〈 1. The stages are considered to be formed in a deep magma chamber, ascent passage and emplacement site, respectively. Due to the more or less long residual time of the magma chamber, the difference in age between the early and late stages of zircon might be great enough to be distinguished, which can be attributed to tectonic constraint for the magnlatism.
