photodynamic therapy (pDT) is a clinically approved cancer treatment that uses energy of light to generate active substances that cause damage to the cancer. photosensitizers are employed to absorb light and generate toxic reactive oxygen species (ROs) to damage biomolecules like DNA. At the same time, some chemotherapy drugs like nucleotide analogues can provide mechanism-guided promotion in the treatment efficacy of pDT. However, the photosensitizer and chemotherapy drugs used in pDT is usually organic molecules, which suffers from bad solubility, fast clearance, and acute toxicity. To achieve targeted treatment, a reasonable delivery system is necessary. Therefore, we reported a metal-phenolic network where IR780 and gemcitabine were coupled chemically to overcome these shortcomings. The enhanced pDT effects can be realized by the promoted cell death both in vitro and in vivo. Moreover, the synergistic therapy also induced T-cell mediated anti-tumor immune response, which was significant for the inhibition of distant tumor growth. This work expanded the biomedical application of metal-phenolic materials and contribute to the wider application of photodynamic cancer therapy.

目的在放射性核素靶向治疗（TRT）时,事先知道药物吸收剂量的分布是非常必要的。在以往研究中,作者发现用于定量计算的spECT系列图像的非刚性配准可提高吸收剂量估算的准确性。该研究目的是评估CT系列图像能否进一步提高TRT吸收剂量估算的准确性。方法用一台投影机模拟配中能通用（MEGp）准直器的spECT/CT采集;In标记的泽娃灵（Zevalin）注射后1、12、24、72及144 h的图像,在此过程中模拟了衰减、散射和准直器-探头间的响应。随后给1例神经内分泌肿瘤患者注射了222 MBq;In-DTpA-奥曲肽（DTpAOC）,注射后24、48和72 h行spECT/CT显像。评价4种不同时间点采集图像的配准方法:基于全身显像系列图的配准（1）spECT（WB.spECT）或（2）CT（WB-CT）;基于器官的单个器官配准（3）spECT（O-spECT）或（4）CT（O-CT）。使用;Y基于体素的s因子（源器官或源组织对靶器官或靶组织的内照射吸收剂量贡献因子）对体素与体素的配准进行积分卷积。生成并分析靶器官的器官吸收剂量、等剂量曲线和剂量容积直方图。结果在模拟研究中,肝、脾O-spECT、O-CT、WB-spECT和WB-CT 4种配准方法的器官吸收剂量误差分别是（-8.66±2.83）%、（-2.51±3.69）%、（-9.23±3.28）%、（-7.17±2.53）%和（-14.81±4.91）%、（-3.60±4.37）%、（-18.13±4.44）%、（-11.34±4.22）%。对所有器官而言,O-CT配准法的结果最好。等剂量曲线和剂量容积直方图的结果与吸收剂量估算结果一致。病例研究的结果同样显示O-CT配准法的误差最小。结论对比CT和spECT系列图,在CT系列图上进行器官配准可更有效地提高3D剂量估算的准确性,也许应把低剂量CT扫描纳入标准TRT方案中。

High-resolution multi-scale air pollution system:Evaluation of modelling performance and emission control strategies

A high percentage of the world's population lives in areas where air pollutant concentrations exceed the World Health Organization guidelines.This work aims to develop and test,a high-resolution multi-scale air pollution modelling system by integrating a set of adequate tools.This system is able to provide detailed air pollutant concentrations in urban areas and support air quality management strategies through a better identification of different atmospheric processes.It also allows furthering the design and assessment of air pollution control measures for a specific area.To evaluate its performance and suitability,the system was applied to the Macao special Administrative Region(sAR),China,one of the most densely populated areas on earth,during a winter period when this area is affected by high levels of particulate Matter(pM).Although the developed system tends to underestimate the pM concentrations,it revealed a good performance in reproducing the temporal and spatial air pollution patterns.several exceedances of the Chinese air quality standards were calculated and high population exposure to pM pollution was estimated.The tested urban atmospheric emission reduction scenarios have shown air quality improvements,indicating that emission reduction measures at urban level should focus on the domestic sector.However,it is crucial to implement joint pollution prevention strategies with neighbouring regions to improve the air quality in Macao sAR.The approach developed in this work can support policymakers in defining new strategies to reduce atmospheric pollution in urban areas.

Holomorphic Retractions of Bounded symmetric Domains onto Totally Geodesic Complex submanifolds

Given a bounded symmetric domain Ω the author considers the geometry of its totally geodesic complex submanifolds s■Ω.In terms of the Harish-Chandra realization Ω and taking s to pass through the origin 0∈Ω,so that s=E∩Ω for some complex vector subspace of C^(n),the author shows that the orthogonal projectionρ:Ω→E maps Ω onto s,and deduces that s■Ω is a holomorphic isometry with respect to the Caratheodory metric.His first theorem gives a new derivation of a result of Yeung’s deduced from the classification theory by satake and Ihara in the special case of totally geodesic complex submanifolds of rank 1 and of complex dimension≥2 in the siegel upper half plane Hg,a result which was crucial for proving the nonexistence of totally geodesic complex sub or bifolds of dimension≥2 on the open Torelli locus of the siegel modular variety Ag by the same author.The proof relies on the characterization of totally geodesic submanifolds of Riemannian symmetric spaces in terms of Lie triple systems and a variant of the Hermann Convexity Theorem giving a new characterization of the Harish-Chandra realization in terms of bisectional curvatures.

A lateral ankle sprain during a lateral backward step in badminton:A case report of a televised injury incident

Background:This study presents a kinematic analysis of an acute lateral ankle sprain incurred during a televised badminton match.The kinematics of this injury were compared to those of 19 previously reported cases in the published literature.Methods:Four camera views of an acute lateral ankle sprain incurred during a televised badminton match were synchronized and rendered in3-dimensional animation software.A badminton court with known dimensions was built in a virtual environment,and a skeletal model scaled to the inj ured athlete’s height was used for skeletal matching.The ankle joint angle and angular velocity profiles of this acute injury were compared to the summarized findings from 19 previously reported cases in the published literature.Results:At foot strike,the ankle joint was 2° everted,33° plantarflexed,and 18° internally rotated.Maximum inversion of 114° and internal rotation of 69° was achieved at 0.24 s and 0.20 s after foot strike,respectively.After the foot strike,the ankle joint moved from an initial position of plantarflexion to dorsiflexion-from 33° plantarflexion to 53° dorsiflexion(range=86°).Maximum inversion,dorsiflexion,and internal rotation angular velocity were 1262°/s,961°/s,and 677°/s,respectively,at 0.12 s after foot strike.Conclusion:A forefoot landing posture with a plantarflexed and internally rotated ankle joint configuration could incite an acute lateral ankle sprain injury in badminton.prevention of lateral ankle sprains in badminton should focus on the control and stability of the ankle joint angle during forefoot landings,especially when the athletes perform a combined lateral and backward step.

Decomposition of trifluoromethane in a dielectric barrier discharge non-thermal plasma reactor

The decomposition of trifluoromethane （CHF3） was carried out using non-thermal plasma generated in a dielectric barrier discharge （DBD） reactor. The effects of reactor temperature, electric power, initial concentration and oxygen content were examined. The DBD reactor was able to completely destroy CHF3 with alumina beads as a packing material. The decomposition efficiency increased with increasing electric power and reactor temperature. The destruction of CHF3 gradually increased with the addition of O2 up to 2%, but further increase in the oxygen content led to a decrease in the decomposition efficiency. The degradation pathways were explained with the identified by-products. The main by-products from CHF3 were found to be COF2, CF4, CO2 and CO although the COF2 and CF4 disappeared when the plasma were combined with alumina catalyst.

Brassinosteroids enhance salicylic acid-mediated immune responses by inhibiting BIN2 phosphorylation of clade I TGA transcription factors in Arabidopsis

salicylic acid (sA) plays an important role in plant immune response, including resistance to pathogens and systemic acquired resistance. Two major components, NONEXpREssOR OF pATHOGENEsIs-RELATED GENEs (NpRs) and TGACG motif-binding transcription factors (TGAs), are known to mediate sA signaling, which might also be orchestrated by other hormonal and environmental changes. Nevertheless, the molecular and functional interactions between sA signaling components and other cellular signaling pathways remain poorly understood. Here we showed that the steroid plant hormone brassinosteroid (BR) promotes sA responses by inactivating BR-INsENsITIVE 2 (BIN2), which inhibits the redox-sensitive clade I TGAs in Arabidopsis. We found that both BR and the BIN2 inhibitor bikinin synergistically increase sA-mediated physiological responses, such as resistance to pst DC3000. Our genetic and biochemical analyses indicated that BIN2 functionally interacts with TGA1 and TGA4, but not with other TGAs. We further demonstrated that BIN2 phosphorylates ser-202 of TGA4, resulting in the suppression of the redox-dependent interaction between TGA4 and NpR1 as well as destabilization of TGA4. Consistently, transgenic Arabidopsis overexpressing TGA4-YFp with a s202A mutation displayed enhanced sA responses compared to the wild-type TGA4-YFp plants. Taken together, these results suggest a novel crosstalk mechanism by which BR signaling coordinates the sA responses mediated by redox-sensitive clade I TGAs.

In-situ production of ozone and ultraviolet light using a barrier discharge reactor for wastewater treatment

A dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) reactor consisting of water-filled dielectric tube electrodes was used for the treatment of wastewater. The inner dielectric tube, which acted as the discharging electrode, was filled with an aqueous electrolyte solution. The outer dielectric tube, which served as the other electrode, was in contact with the wastewater, which was grounded. The present reactor system was energy-efficient for the production of ozone, not only because the perfect contact between the aqueous electrode and the dielectric surface minimized the loss of the electrical energy, but also because the DBD reactor was cooled by the wastewater. In addition, the ultraviolet (UV) light produced in the DBD reactor was able to assist in the wastewater treatment since the quartz tube used as the dielectric material was UV-transparent. The performance of the present DBD system was evaluated using a synthetic wastewater formed from distilled water and an azo dye, amaranth. The experimental parameters were the concentration of the electrolyte in the aqueous electrode, the discharge power, the initial pH of the wastewater and the concentration of hydrogen peroxide added to the wastewater. The wastewater treatment system was found to be effective for achieving decomposition of the dye.

An Important Film: polychromy in the pier Luigi Nervi Halls at the Turin Exhibition Center

Hidden by several layers of white paint,the almost forgotten polychromy of Nervi’s exhibition halls emerges from historical images,not necessarily intended to document the complex,but rather as a setting for exhibitions,fairs or film and advertising sets.Historical documentation reveals Nervi’s presence on the building site and his desire to supervise the finishing phases.The first stratigraphic investigations also testify to his attention color,as well as the subsequent transformations of use.specific theoretical and technical issues regarding the conservation of the pictorial layers in relation to the conservation of the reinforced concrete elements are outlined.Furthermore,the use of polychromy in combination with the original employment of natural and artificial light sources introduces new facets into the analysis of Nervi’s work,offering the opportunity for original reflection.This is particularly true if we consider the impact of the interventions carried out so far,even those considered non-invasive,such as routine maintenance operations and some technological upgrades.

Rigidity of certain admissible pairs of rational homogeneous spaces of picard number 1 which are not of the subdiagram type

Recently, mok and Zhang(2019) introduced the notion of admissible pairs(X0, X) of rational homogeneous spaces of picard number 1 and proved rigidity of admissible pairs(X0, X) of the subdiagram type whenever X0 is nonlinear. It remains unsolved whether rigidity holds when(X0, X) is an admissible pair NOT of the subdiagram type of nonlinear irreducible Hermitian symmetric spaces such that(X0, X) is nondegenerate for substructures. In this article we provide sufficient conditions for confirming rigidity of such an admissible pair. In a nutshell our solution consists of an enhancement of the method of propagation of sub-VMRT(varieties of minimal rational tangents) structures along chains of minimal rational curves as is already implemented in the proof of the Thickening Lemma of mok and Zhang(2019). There it was proven that, for a sub-VMRT structure ■: ι(s) → s on a uniruled projective manifold(X, K) equipped with a minimal rational component and satisfying certain conditions so that in particular s is "uniruled" by open subsets of certain minimal rational curves on X, for a "good" minimal rational curve ι emanating from a general point x ∈ s, there exists an immersed neighborhood Nι of ι which is in some sense "uniruled" by minimal rational curves. By means of the Algebraicity Theorem of mok and Zhang(2019), s can be completed to a projective subvariety Z ■ X. By the author’s solution of the Recognition problem for irreducible Hermitian symmetric spaces of rank 2(2008)and under Condition(F), which symbolizes the fitting of sub-VMRTs into VMRTs, we further prove that Z is the image under a holomorphic immersion of X0 into X which induces an isomorphism on second homology groups. By studying C^*-actions we prove that Z can be deformed via a one-parameter family of automorphisms to converge to X0 ■ X. Under the additional hypothesis that all holomorphic sections in Γ(X0, TX |X0) lift to global holomorphic vector fields on X, we prove that the admissible pair(X0, X) is rigid.
