Tomato is the highest value fruit crop in the world （Tieman et al., 2017） and a major component of healthy diets as it provides ready sources of vitamins A, c, E, and K, minerals including K and Fe, and lycopene as an antioxidant. However, modern varieties are often described as having little flavor, especially in comparison with traditional or heirloom types.

The rates of the thermonuclear 18F(p, α)15O and 18F(p,γ)19Ne reactions in hot astrophysical environments are needed to understand gamma-ray emission from nova explosions. The rates for these reactions have been uncertain due to discrepancies in recent measurements, as well as to a lack of a comprehensive examination of the available structure information in the compound nucleus 19Ne. We have examined the latest experimental measurements with radioactive and stable beams, and made estimates of the unmeasured 19Ne nuclear level parameters, to generate new rates with uncertainties for these reactions. The rates are expressed as numerical values over the temperature range relevant for stellar explosions, as well as analytical expressions as functions of temperature in a format suitable for use in astrophysical simulations. comparisons with the previous rate calculations are carried out, and the astrophysical implications are briefly discussed.

通过实验研究出口雷诺数对平面湍流射流自保持性的影响.测量的射流来自相同的喷嘴但不同的雷诺数Re(≡Ujh/ν,其中Uj是出口平均速度、h是窄缝出口的厚度和ν是黏性系数),其变化范围是Re=4582—57735.所得的数据包括沿轴线的平均速度、湍流强度、积分尺度、高阶矩和能谱.实验发现,随着Re的增大,平面射流发展减慢,平均速度和湍流强度更难达到自保持状态.沿轴线的积分尺度随轴向距离成线性增长但随雷诺数的增大增长速度减慢.同时发现,平面射流的局部雷诺数会随轴向距离的增大而增大.最后,通过对比湍流能谱并结合以往发表的结果,对不同雷诺数的射流所表现出的不同的统计学行为给出了解释.

Lattice thermal conductivities of zirconium carbide(Zrc_(x),x=1,0.75 and 0.5)ceramics with different carbon vacancy concentrations were calculated using a combination of first-principles calculations and the Debye-callaway *** Gruneisen parameters,Debye temperatures,and phonon group velocities were deduced from phonon dispersions of Zrc_(x) determined using first-principles *** addition,the effects of average atomic mass,grain size,average atomic volume and Zr isotopes on the lattice thermal conductivities of Zrc_(x) were analyzed using phonon scattering *** lattice thermal conductivity decreased as temperature increased for Zrc,Zrc_(0.75) and Zrc_(0.5)(Zr2 c),and decreased as carbon vacancy concentration ***,Zrc_(x) can be tailored from a thermal conducting material for Zrc with high lattice thermal conductivity to a thermal insulating material for Zrc_(0.5) with low lattice thermal ***,it opens a window to tune the thermal properties of Zrc_(x) by controlling the carbon vacancy content.

BAcKGROUNDYoung people with type 1 diabetes in low-and-middle income countries facemany challenges in accessing care, with various essential supplies needed forsurvival and long-term *** study insulin delivery devices and glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c) *** survey was conducted in 2019 of leading diabetes centres in 41 countriessupported by the Life for a child Program. The survey covered numerous aspectsconcerning availability and costs at all levels of the health system, local usagepatterns and attitudes, obstacles, and other ***-seven countries returned the survey (90.2% response rate). Key findingsincluded: Syringe use was most common (83.1%), followed by insulin pens(16.7%) and pumps (0.2%). 48.6% of public health systems did not providesyringes, even with a co-payment. Use of suboptimal syringe/needlecombinations was common. Needles were generally reused in almost all countries(94.3%, n = 35). Aside from donated supplies, there was variable access to HbA1ctesting within public health facilities, and, when available, patients often had tocover the cost. Provision was further compromised by numerous problemsincluding stock-outs, and challenges with understanding the test, equipmentmaintenance, and *** gaps exist for adequate access to appropriate insulin delivery devices andHbA1c testing. Public health systems in low-and-middle income countries shouldincrease affordable provision. There are also needs for specific health professional training and diabetes education;elimination of customs duties and taxes;development of inexpensive, robust HbA1c testing methods that do not requirerefrigeration of testing supplies;differential pricing schemes;and other solutions.

Microdialysis is a technique used to measure the unbound antibiotic concentration in the interstitial spaces, the target site of action. In vitro recovery studies are essential to calibrating the microdialysis system for in vivo studies. The effect of a combination of antibiotics on recovery into microdialysate requires investigation. In vitro microdialysis recovery studies were conducted on a combination of vancomycin and tobramycin, in a simulated in vivo model. comparison was made between recoveries for three different concentrations and three different perfusate flow rates. The overall relative recovery for vancomycin was lower than that of tobramycin. For tobramycin, a concentration of 20μg/mL and flow rate of 1.0μL/min had the best recovery. A concentration of 5.0μg/mL and flow rate of 1.0μL/min yielded maximal recovery for vancomycin. Large molecular size and higher protein binding resulted in lower relative recoveries for vancomycin. Perfusate flow rates and drug concentrations affected the relative recovery when a combination of vancomycin and tobramycin was tested. Low perfusate flow rates were associated with higher recovery rates. For combination antibiotic measurement which includes agents that are highly protein bound, in vitro studies performed prior to in vivo studies may ensure the reliable measurement of unbound concentrations.

In this paper we consider extreme points and support points for compact subclasses of normalized biholomorphic mappings of the Euclidean unit ball Bn in cn. We consider the class S0(Bn) of biholomorphic mappings on Bn which have parametric representation, i.e., they are the initial elements f (·, 0) of a Loewner chain f (z, t) = etz + ··· such that {e-tf (·, t)}t 0 is a normal family on Bn. We show that if f (·, 0) is an extreme point (respectively a support point) of S0(Bn), then e-tf (·, t) is an extreme point of S0(Bn) for t 0 (respectively a support point of S0(Bn) for t ∈[0, t0] and some t0 > 0). This is a generalization to the n-dimensional case of work due to Pell. Also, we prove analogous results for mappings which belong to S0(Bn) and which are bounded in the norm by a fixed constant. We relate the study of this class to reachable sets in control theory generalizing work of Roth. Finally we consider extreme points and support points for biholomorphic mappings of Bn generated by using extension operators that preserve Loewner chains.
