Soil erosion in catchment areas reduces soil productivity and causes a loss of reservoir *** parametric models have been developed to predict soil erosion at drainage basins,hill slopes and field *** well-known Universal Soil Loss Equation(USLE) represents a standardized *** reservoir,which sits on Chaobaihe River,is the main surface source of drinking water for beijing,the capital of *** and soil loss are the main reasons for sediment to enter a *** yield is assessed using a version of the universal soil loss equation modified by Chinese *** year 2.01 and 2.02.data for factors in the equation are obtained from remote sensing or collected to form an analysis *** factors are computed and mapped using Geographic Information System *** on the complex database,the modified model is *** pixel-based computing the sediment yield per hydrological unit is *** model does not consider sediment deposition occurring on *** soil loss is often higher than the sum of those measured at catchment *** sediment delivery ratio(SDR) per hydrological unit is also *** study analyzes the main contributions of sediment yields on sub-basins of the Chaobaihe River to the Miyun Reservoir,and discusses the possible reasons for the difference between SDRs in 2.01 and 2.02.at different *** result shows that in the upper basin of the Miyun Reservoir,in 2.01 the area of erosion that could be neglected was 8,2.2.76 km2.the area of low erosion 3,2.9.59 km2.the area of moderate erosion 3,400.97 km2.the area of high erosion 436.89 km2.the area of strong erosion 52.19 km2.and the area of severe erosion 3.13 *** highest soil loss was 70,353 t/*** in Fengning County in 2.01,followed by 64,418 t/*** by Chicheng County in *** SDR in 2.02.was lower than that in *** main reasons are the decreasing rainfall erosivity and total runoff.

The excited state absorption upconversion of Pr(0.5)Yb(3):ZBLAN glass material, under two-color excitation of the 960 nm semiconductor laser and the Xe lamp light simultaneously, is reported in this article. It was found that the upconversion emission spectra of 480.1, 519.0, 601.9 and 631.8 nm coincide with the common emission spectra. Meanwhile, the upconversion-excitation spectrum has three obvious peaks under two-color excitation, and they respectively correspond to the 856.0 nm upconversion ex-citation transition [1G4(Pr3+)→1I6(Pr3+) and 1G4(Pr3+)→3P1(Pr3+)], the 789.0 nm upconver-sion excitation transition 1G4(Pr3+)→3P2.Pr3+), and the 803.7 nm upconversion excitation transition 3H6(Pr3+)→1D2.Pr3+). The upconversion excitation transition 1G4(Pr3+)→1I6(Pr3+) is strong because its oscillator strength f = 2..040×10?6 is large, which results in a large peak appearing in the upconversion excitation spectrum. That is just the new interesting two-color excitation upconversion luminescence phenomenon of Pr(0.5)Yb(3):ZBLAN induced by one laser and one continuous normal light simultaneously.

The cross-sectional indentation method is extended to evaluate the interfacial adhesion between brittle coating and ductile substrate. The experimental results on electroplated chromium coating/steel substrate show that the interfacial separation occurs due to the edge chipping of brittle coating. The corresponding models are established to elucidate interfacial separation processes. This work further highlights the advantages and potential of this novel indentation method.

Strip pillar mining is one of the most important technical measures to control mining subsidence in china. Mining depth is one of the most important factors that can affect the mining subsidence in strip pillar mining. Six numerical simulation models were set up to simulate the surface subsidence of strip pillar mining in different mining depths. The mining depth in these six models ranges from 300 to 800 m. The simulated results were compared and analyzed. The formula was established based on the simulated results. It demonstrated that the subsidence of strip pillar mining method is related to mining depth. While the other conditions are the same, the subsidence of strip pillar mining increases with the increase of mining depth by logarithmic relationship.

Eight sporopollen zones have been divided based on the results of high-resolution sporopollen analysis of Core B10 in the southern Yellow Sea. Based on the results along with ^14C datings and the subbottom profiling data,climatic and environmental changes since the last stage of late Pleistocene are discussed. The main conclusions are drawn as follows: (1) the vegetation evolved in the process of coniferous forest-grassland containing broad-leaved trees→coniferous and broad-leaved mixed forest→coniferons and broad-leaved mixed forest-grassland prevailed by coniferous trees→coniferous and broad-leaved mixed forest-grassland containing evergreen broad-leaved trees→coniferons and broad-leaved mixed forest-grassland prevailed by broadleaved trees→deciduous broad-leaved forest-meadow containing evergreen broad-leaved trees→coniferous and broadleaved mixed forest-grassland prevailed by broad-leaved trees→coniferous and broad-leaved mixed forest containing evergreen broad-leaved trees; (2. eight stages of climate changes are identified as the cold and dry stage, the temperate and wet stage, the cold and dry stage, the warm and dry stage, the temperate and wet stage, the hot and dry stage, the temperate and dry stage, then the warm and dry stage in turn; (3) the sedimentary environment developed from land,to littoral zone, to land again, then to shore-neritic zone; and (4) the Yellow Sea Warm Current formed during early-Holocene rather than Atlantic stage.
