Using biopolym.rs as wall m.terials in spray drying poses challenges,particularly in attaining flowability and therm.l stability am.ng their physicochem.cal *** paper addresses these challenges by preparing m.croparticles using a blend of starch–chitosan and a poloxam.r,com.ercially nam.d Pluronic®*** aim.d to elucidate the effects of varying poloxam.r concentrations on the resulting particles through the spray drying *** with a poloxam.r concentration of 3%(w/v)dem.nstrated a notably higher yield,especially when com.ared to those with 0%and 1%*** with 3%and 5%(w/v)poloxam.r displayed a narrower particle size distribution,with the 3%blend showing a superior yield attributed to arrangem.nts of blend com.onents that im.rove flowability.X-ray diffraction analysis showcased the characteristic peaks of A-type starch form.with shifts suggesting enhanced interactions between *** with increased poloxam.r content showed elevated therm.l degradation tem.eratures,with the 3%blend registering a significant rise,opening avenues for encapsulating heat-sensitive *** study prim.rily focuses on the preparation and basic characterization of *** underscores the potential of blends with optim.l poloxam.r concentrations in m.croencapsulation,em.hasizing further research to harness their capabilities thoroughly.

Bell pepper(Capsicum.annuum.L.),along with potato and tom.to,is one of the three m.st cultivated vegetables in the *** pepper is worldwide accepted due to its characteristics of color,sm.ll,ﬂavor,and *** pepper is also considered a nutritious food due to its vitam.n and antioxidant *** m.xico,bell pepper production has a high value because it is grown for the international m.rkets,particularly the United States of ***,the abscission ofﬂowers and fruits is a factor that lim.ts the yield,hinders the planning of activities,and causes a variation in the prices of *** to the im.ortance of this process,in this work we did a bibliom.tric analysis and literature review of scientiﬁc advances for the understanding of the abscission pro-cess in plants,and in particular for the bell ***,we introduce new perspectives that would help direct future research about organ abscission in ***,the lack of research that would further clarify abscis-sion process in the bell pepper plant is discussed.

Hum.n activities have led to global sim.lification of ecosystem., am.ng which Neotropical dry forests are som. of the m.st threatened. Habitat loss as well as edge effects m.y affect insect com.unities. Here, we analyzed insects sam.led with pan traps in 9 landscapes （at 5 scales, in 100-500 m.diam.ter circles） com.rising cultivated fields and Chaco Serrano forests, at overall com.unity and taxonom.c order level. In total 7043 specim.ns and 456 species of hexapods were captured, with abundance and richness being directly related to forest cover at 500 m.and higher at edges in com.arison with forest interior. Com.unity com.osition also varied with forest cover and edge^interior location. Different responses were detected am.ng the 8 dom.nant orders. Collem.ola, Hem.ptera, and Orthoptera richness and^or abundance were positively related to forest cover at the larger scale, while Thysanoptera abundance increased with forest cover only at the edge. Hym.noptera abundance and richness were negatively related to forest cover at 100 m. Coleoptera, Diptera, and Hym.noptera were m.re diverse and abundant at the forest edge. The generally negative influence of forest loss on insect com.unities could have functional consequences for both natural and cultivated system., and highlights the relevance of forest conservation. Higher diversity at the edges could result from.the sim.ltaneous presence of forest and m.trix species, although ＂resource m.pping＂ m.ght be involved for orders that were richer and m.re abundant at edges. Adjacent crops could benefit from.forest proxim.ty since natural enem.es and pollinators are well represented in the orders showing nositive edge effects.

m.ningoencephalitis secondary to Listeria m.nocytogenes (L. m.nocytogenes) m.inly affects newborns, the elderly and im.unocom.rom.sed people;there are extrem.ly rare cases in which said infection occurs in im.unocom.etent individuals. We present the case of a young adult patient without im.unocom.rom.se, who developed m.ningoencephalitis due to L. m.nocytogenes;This case is exceptional, since it occurred in an individual outside the classic age group, in addition to not having risk factors, which is why it should be considered an atypical causal agent.

Endophytes infect living plant tissues without causing sym.tom. of ***,m.ny of them.contribute to the resistance phenotype of their ***,fungal endophytes are generally closely related to plant pathogens,fungi that either develop within living host tissue(biotrophic fungi)or that kill the host cells and then live in the dead tissue(necrotrophic fungi).We adopted a phylogenetic approach to investigate whether these strategies represent evolutionarily stable lifestyles and to elucidate their general phylogenetic *** analysed 163 fungal strains for which we found inform.tion on the sequence of the 5.8S rRNA gene and the flanking internal transcribed spacer regions,the identity of the host plant and the concrete phenotypic outcom. of the infection.A m.xim.m.Likelihood analysis com.ined with ancestral character m.pping by m.xim.m.parsim.ny revealed that som. fungal lineages had switched m.ltiple tim.s between a necrotrophic and an endophytic *** character m.pping indicated a m.nim.m.of four changes from.an endophytic to a necrotrophic lifestyle,four changes in the opposite direction and eight changes am.ng these lifestyles for which the direction could not be determ.ned *** contrast,biotrophs form.d five clusters that did not contain necrotrophs or *** biotrophy evolves there is apparently no regression to one of the other two *** conclude that biotrophy usually represents a derived and evolutionarily stable trait,whereas fungi easily can switch between an endophytic and necrotrophic lifestyle at the evolutionary and even the ecological *** experim.ntal studies should focus on the environm.ntal or genetic changes that cause the rapid switches between these two phenotypically different lifestyles.

Aim. Addressing plant responses to water stress is critical to understand the structure of plant com.unities in water-lim.ted environm.nts and to forecast their resilience to future changes in *** a sem.arid agroforestry system.in the Sahelian savannah of Leona(Senegal),we selected nine com.on tree species and explored their stress-resistance *** species represent a variety of life form. and are of high regional socio-econom.c *** hypothesized that different species would show different suites of traits to cope with water stress and expected to identify functional groups differing in strategies to withstand water *** Along a dry and a wet season,we m.nitored four traits reflecting above-and below-ground strategies of resource acquisition such as predawn leaf water potential(ψpd),specific leaf area(SLA),leaf thickness and leaf area index(LAI).We also m.asured two m.r-phological traits:trunk diam.ter and tree *** andψpd were m.asured six tim.s during the dry and rainy seasons,and the other traits were m.asured *** Findings We identified two functional classes subdivided into two func-tional groups of each *** first class included deciduous and sem.-deciduous species that generally had large SLA,low leaf thickness and sm.ll-to-interm.diate inter-seasonal varia-tions inψ*** second class included evergreen species of two functional groups that differ in SLA,leaf thickness and the m.g-nitude of inter-seasonal variations ofψpd throughout the *** four functional groups identified in this study represent plant strategies differing in their response to changing environm.ntal conditions.

We present an unusual case of portal vein throm.osis with a splanchnic hem.ngiom. secondary to acute biliary pancreatitis. We report a 45-year-old patient, who has system.c arterial hypertension in treatm.nt, was adm.tted for abdom.nal pain in the epigastrium. with irradiation to the right hypochondrium. accom.anied by nausea and vom.ting of 10 occasions of bile content, physical exam.nation with pain in the right hypochondrium. m.rphy positive. We have laboratory studies with a lipase of 788, so a diagnosis of pancreatitis is m.de with an etiology to be determ.ned. The laboratories suggestive of acute biliary pancreatitis (lipase 788.71);an im.ging study was subsequently perform.d (ultrasonography) with the result of stone in the com.on bile duct. A laparoscopy was perform.d with relative im.rovem.nt, so he was discharged and returned 20 days after surgery due to abdom.nal pain of the sam. intensity in the left hypochondrium. Ending his hospitalization with a splenectom. for splenic hem.ngiom. with portal vein throm.osis.

AIm.To study the action of am.noguanidine on pancreatic cancer xenografts in relation to cell proliferation,apoptosis,redox status and ***:Xenografts of PANC-1 cells were developed in nude m.ce. The anim.ls were separated into two groups:control and am.noguanidine treated. Tum.r growth,survival and appearance of m.tastases were determ.ned in vivo in both groups. Tum.rs were excised and ex vivo histochem.cal studies were perform.d. Cell growth was assessed by Ki-67 expression. Apoptosis was studied by intratum.ral expression of B cell lym.hom.-2 protein (Bcl-2) fam.ly proteins and Term.nal deoxynucleotidyl transferase biotin-dUTP Nick End Labeling (Tunel). Redox status was evaluated by the expression of endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS),catalase,copper-zinc superoxide dism.tase (CuZnSOD),m.nganese superoxide dism.tase (m.SOD) and glutathione peroxidase (GPx). Finally,vascularization was determ.ned by m.ssons trichrom.c staining,and by VEGF and CD34 ***:Tum.r volum.s after 32 d of treatm.nt by am.noguanidine (AG) were significantly lower than in control m.ce (P m.dian survival of AG m.ce was significantly greater than control anim.ls (P m.lateral and contralateral palpable m.tastases was significantly delayed in AG group. Apoptotic cells,intratum.ral vascularization (trichrom.c stain) and the expression of Ki-67,Bax,eNOS,CD34,VEGF,catalase,CuZnSOD and m.SOD were dim.nished in AG treated m.ce (P m.ral action of am.noguanidine is associated with decreased cell proliferation,reduced angiogenesis,and reduced expression of antioxidant enzym.s.
