Intro.uctio.: Peo.le in rural co.munities are expo.ed to.the risk facto.s fo. no.-co.municable disease as tho.e in urban areas. Co.rect interpretatio. and management o. sympto.s are impo.tant in primary care especially in rural co.munities where diagno.tic facilities are no. readily available. Materials and Metho.s: This was a cro.s-sectio.al study carried o.t in a village in Enugu So.th Lo.al Go.ernment area o. Enugu State. Tho.o.gh medical histo.y was taken fro. all eligible participants who.gave their co.sent. Data were analyzed using SPSS versio. 26. Results: Data fro. a to.al o. 1019 (64.7%) o.t o. 1576 participants were analysed. Fever was by far the mo.t co.mo. presenting co.plaint 580 (56.9%) o. all participants and 67.9% o. medical co.plaints seen in the clinic. This was fo.lo.ed remo.ely by musculo.keletal pro.lems and neuro.o.ical pro.lems 15.6% and 3.8% o. the participants respectively. Acro.s all age gro.ps, febrile illness was mo.e than no.-febrile illness except in tho.e 65 years. Generalized bo.y pains 74 (7.3%), back pains 55 (5.1), headache 33 (3.2%) and abdo.inal pains 24 (2.4%) were the co.mo.est sympto.s presented by the participants. Abo.t 15 (1.5%) o. the po.ulatio. surveyed had had trauma/surgery in the past. This was twice the number who.presented to.the clinic with sympto.s related to.injury and trauma 7 (0.7%). Co.clusio.s: Fever and musculo.keletal pains are the do.inant medical co.plaints presented by adults in a rural co.munity clinic. This may be related to.the seaso. o. the year and the o.cupatio. o. the po.ulatio. studied.
