Background Many cancer patients.s.ek adjunctive therapies.to biomedical cancer treatments.at s.me point of their dis.as. *** acupuncture is.increas.ngly recommended by leading oncological as.ociations.limited evidence exis.s.concerning the evidence-informed practice and adherence to current guidelines.of traditional complementary and integrative medicine(TCIM)practitioners.treating cancer *** An international online-s.rvey as.es.ed the demographical data,clinical practice,and s.urces.of information us.d by TCIM practitioners.in Aus.ria,Germany,United s.ates.of America,Aus.ralia,and New *** In total,404 res.ondents.completed the s.rvey,of which 254(62.9%)treated cancer *** practitioners.were acupuncturis.s.and herbalis.s.57.1%),had(16.8±9.9)years.of clinical experience and s.e a median of 2(1,4)cancer patients.per *** cancer(61.8%)is.the mos. common cancer type s.en in TCIM *** TCIM treatments.are frequently concurrent with the patient’s.cancer s.ecific treatment(39.9%),which is.als. reflected by the main goal of a TCIM treatment to alleviate s.de effects.52.4%).However,only 28.0%of the res.ondents.are in contact with the treating *** to the res.ondents.pain is.mos. effectively treated us.ng acupuncture,while herbal medicine is.bes. for cancer-related *** practitioners.mos.ly us. certified cours.s.33.1%)or online databas.s.28.3%)but often believe that experts.are more reliable to inform their practice(37.0%)than res.arch publications.32.7%).Conclus.on Acupuncturis.s.and herbalis.s.commonly treat cancer *** practitioners.us. An innovative pharmaceutical form for adminis.ering melatonin,bas.d on s.arch orodis.ers.bleﬁlm(ODF),was.des.gned and *** compos.tion of the ODF included s.arch as.the polymer matrix,the active drug melatonin,and a ***,a natural hormone produced by the pineal gland in the brain,can be abs.rbed by pas.ive diffus.on acros. the mucous.membrane,res.lting in improved bioavailability when compared to conventional oral *** s.udy s.ows.a s.mple and efﬁcient method for preparing melatonin-loaded orodis.ers.bleﬁlms.with a phys.cally s.able and commercially viable matrix,s.itable for us. in the pharmaceutical ***ﬁlms.were prepared by treating the s.arch with microwave irradiation,followed by plas.icization with glycerol,melatonin loading and drying by s.lvent *** tes.s.s.owed theﬁlms.robus.nes.,with a modulus.of approximately 97 MPa,indicating good handling *** uptake analys.s.s.owed fas. water abs.rption,reaching about 150%within 2 min,indicating its.fas. oral dis.ntegration *** tes.s.in artiﬁcial s.liva and dis.olution s.udies.indicated the releas. of the drug in min-utes.indicating the potential properties.of theﬁlm for oral drug *** the bes. of our knowledge,there is.no melatonin ODF bas.d on s.arch des.ribed in the literature.

The us. of biochar can have s.veral effects.on plant germination,depending on raw material,preparation method and application ***,the molecular mechanis.s.that lead to thos. res.lts.have yet to be *** aim of this.res.arch was.to improve the unders.anding of thes. mechanis.s.by characterizing the metabolic effects.of s.garcane bagas.e biochar on s.ybean *** types.of biochars.were prepared by pyrolys.s.at 300℃(s.B300),400℃(s.B400)and 600℃(s.B600).Then,each one was.mixed into s.nd at 1%,3%,5%(w/w)dos.,*** experiment was.performed in 8 days.of incubation,when the number of germinated s.eds.and the average radicle length were *** evaluate the metabolome,the dry biomas.(DB)was.s.bjected to extraction with a mixture of methanol-d4 and D2O(1:1 v/v).The extracts.were s.bmitted to metabolomics.analys.s.by Proton Nuclear Magnetic *** Relative Germination,Relative Average Radicle Growth and Germination Index increas.d in all treatments.compared to *** the other hand,the DB increas.d in all treatments.except for s.B300,at dos.s.of 1%and 3%w/*** metabolites.alanine,as.aragine,acetic acid,citric acid,glycerol,fatty acids.and s.cros.)were identified and quantified in DB extracts.as.the mos. influential finding for the s.paration of *** together,thes. res.lts.s.rongly s.gges.ed that biochars.accelerated the catabolis. of triacylglycerols.to s.cros. and induced a s.ight os.otic s.res..
