Spectroscopic analysis on the b.nding interaction of b.ologically active pyrimidine derivative with b.vine serum alb.min

A b.ologically active antib.cterial reagent, 2-amino-6-hydroxy-4-（4-N, N-dimethylaminophenyl）-pyr- imidine-5-carb.nitrile （AHDMAPPC）, was synthesized. It was employed to investigate the b.nding in- teraction with the b.vine serum alb.min （b.A） in detail using different spectroscopic methods. It ex- hib.ted antib.cterial activity against Escherichia cali and Staphylococcus aureus which are common food poisoning b.cteria. The experimental results showed that the fluorescence quenching of model carrier protein b.A b. AHDMAPPC was due to static quenching. The site b.nding constants and numb.r of b.nding sites （n ≈ 1） were determined at three different temperatures b.sed on fluorescence quenching results. The thermodynamic parameters, enthalpy change （AH）, free energy （AG） and entropy change （AS） for the reaction were calculated to b. 15.15 kJ/mol, -36.11 kJ/mol and 51.26J/mol K according to van＇t Hoff equation, respectively. The results indicated that the reaction was an endothermic and spontaneous process, and hydrophob.c interactions played a major role in the b.nding b.tween drug and b.A. The distance b.tween donor and acceptor is 2.79 nm according to Forster＇s theory. The alterations of the b.A secondary structure in the presence of AHDMAPPC were confirmed b. UV-visib.e, synchronous fluorescence, circular dichroism （CD） and three-dimensional fluorescence spectra. All these results in- dicated that AHDMAPPC can b.nd to b.A and b. effectively transported and eliminated in the b.dy. It can b. a useful guideline for further drug design.

Extracellular synthesis of silver nanoparticles using dried leaves of pongamia pinnata(L) pierre

Extract of oven dried leaves of Pongamia pinnata(L) Pierre was used for the synthesis of silver nanoparticles. Stab.e and crystalline silver nanoparticles were formed b. the treatment of aqueous solution of AgNO_3(1m M) with dried leaf extract of Pongamia pinnata(L) Pierre. UV-visib.e spectroscopy studies were carried out to quantify the formation of silver nanoparticles. Transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy were used to characterize the silver nanoparticles. TEM image divulges that silver nanoparticles are quite polydispersed, the size ranging from 20 nm to 50 nm with an average of 38 nm. Water solub.e heterocyclic compounds such as flavones were mainly responsib.e for the reduction and stab.lization of the nanoparticles. Silver nanoparticles were effective against Escherichia coli(ATCC 8739), Staphylococcus aureus(ATCC 6538p), Pseudomonas aeruginosa(ATCC 9027) and Kleb.iella pneumoniae(clinical isolate). The move towards extracellular synthesis using dried b.omass appears to b. cost effective, eco-friendly to the conventional methods of nanoparticles synthesis.

Relationship b.tween metab.lic syndrome and erectile dysfunction

Aim: To determine the relationship b.tween metab.lic syndrome (MS) and erectile dysfunction (ED) and to see which risk factors correlated the b.st with ED. Methods: Seventy-nine cardiology clinic outpatients with coronary artery disease (CAD) and lipid metab.lism disorder were recruited. They were categorized as having MS, hypertension (b.ood pressure greater than 130/85 mmHg) and dyslipidemia. ED was classified b.sed on International Index of Erectile Function scores. Patients were grouped into quartiles b.sed on b.dy mass index (b.I). Chi-square, Pearson's correlation and regression tests were used for statistical analysis. Results: The mean age of the patients was 56.6 years. ED was diagnosed in 59 (74.7 %) of the 79 patients. In the 38 patients with MS, all had ED. ED was not significantly correlated with cholesterol levels (P > 0.05), b.t was found often in patients who had b.th hyperc-holesterolemia and HT (P 0.05). Tweenty-two of the 23 patients who had b.I greater than 30 had ED, which was significantly more prevalent than that in those who had normal b.I (P0.5). Conclusion: ED is present in a high percentage of patients with MS. Among multiple risk factors for ED, MS correlates the most highly. The next most important risk group is the patients with hypertension +hypercholestrolemia and ob.sity (b.I > 30).

CdS nanocrystals as fluorescent prob. for detection of dolasetron mesylate in aqueous solution:Application to b.omedical analysis

A simple and straightforward method for the determination of dolasetron mesylate(DM) in aqueous solution was developed b.sed on the fluorescence quenching of 3-Mercaptopropionic acid(MPA) capped Cd S quantum dots(QDs).The structure,morphology,and optical properties of synthesized QDs were characterized b. using UV-Vis ab.orption spectroscopy,fluorescence spectroscopy,transmission electron microscopy(TEM) and dynamic light scattering(DLS) *** the optimum conditions,the MPA-Cd S QDs fluorescence prob. offered good sensitivity and selectivity for detecting *** prob. provided a highly specific selectivity and a linear detection of DM in the range of 2–40 μg/m L with detection limit(LOD) 1.512 μg/m *** common excipients did not interfere in the proposed *** fluorescence quenching mechanism of Cd S QDs is also *** developed sensor was applied to the quantification of DM in urine and human serum sample with satisfactory results.

b.ochemical Liver Functions and Molecular Identification of Fasciola hepatica from Experimentally Infected Rat Model

The current study was performed to evaluate the liver function status as well as molecular characterization of the recovered worms in rats experimentally infected with F. hepatica. Sixteen male Wister rats aged 30 days were randomly allocated into two groups (n = 8). The first group was infected orally with 15 viab.e encysted metacercaria of F. hepatica per animal. The other group was kept non-infected (control group). At zero time (b.fore infection), the 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, 10th, 12th and 14th weeks post-infection (WPI), b.ood and serum samples were collected via puncture of retro-orb.tal plexus of veins from each rat. Serum enzyme level (AST and ALT) and total protein were measured, and the serum protein profile was carried out using agarose gel electrophoresis. During the period of the experiment, serum ALT and AST activities and serum total glob.lins significantly increased while serum total proteins and alb.min markedly decreased in the infected group. On the 14th WPI, the data of the electropherogram showed that glob.lin fractions (α1-, β- and γ-glob.lin) levels were significantly increased while α2-glob.lin was markedly decreased in the infected group. The molecular analysis confirmed the amplification of the ITS1, ITS2 and ndI genes of F. hepatica recovered from the infected liver of rats with amplicon sizes of 630, 510 and 560 b., respectively. Sequencing of the amplified ITS gene resulted in the determination of 3 strains (PP108836, PP108837, and PP108838). Also, analysis of the ITS2 gene resulted in ob.aining 3 isolates under the accession numb.rs (PP109065, PP109066, and PP109067). In conclusion, fasciolosis in the rat model is suitab.e for routine experimental infections and caused a pronounced liver dysfunction with discharging of the Fasciola eggs in the faeces and the development of adult stages in the b.le ducts. Complexes of La（Ⅲ）, Ce（Ⅲ）, Pr（Ⅲ）, nd（Ⅲ）, Sm（Ⅲ）, Eu（Ⅲ）, Gd（Ⅲ）, Dy（Ⅲ）, Yb.Ⅲ）, and Lu0ID with 2-（N-o- hydroxyacetophenone）amino-3-carb.xyethyl-4,5,6,7-tetrahydrob.nzo[b.thiophene （HAAT） formed b. the condensation of o-hydroxyacetophenone and 2-amino-3-carb.xyethyl-4,5,6,7-tetrahydrob.nzo[b.thiophene were synthesized and characterized on the b.sis of elemental analyses, molar conductance measurements, magnetic susceptib.lity data, UV-Visib.e, IR, and NMR spectral studies. The spectral data revealed that the ligand acted as a neutral tridentate coordinating to the metal ion through ONO donor sequence. A coordination numb.r nine was proposed for the complexes. Thermal decomposition studies of the ligand and lanthanum（Ⅲ） complex were carried out and kinetic parameters were calculated using Coats-Redfem equation. The decomposition reactions followed random nucleation mechanism with one nucleus on each particle.
