In blockchains,transaction fees are fixed by the *** probability for a transaction to be processed quickly increases with the fee *** this paper,we study the transaction fee optimization problem in the Ethereum *** problem consists of determining the minimum price a user should pay so that its transaction is processed with a given probability in a given amount of *** reach this goal,we define a new solution method based on a Monte Carlo approach to predict the probability that a transaction will be mined within a given time *** results on real data highlight the quality of the results.

The Water Erosion Prediction Project(WEPP)model code was modified extensively to support the simulation of nonpoint source(NPS)pollutant sourcing and transport in nonuniform hillslopes based on NPS science from the Soil and Water Assessment Tool(SWAT).This was accomplished utilizing WEPP's overland flow element(OFE)in place of SWAT's hydrologic response unit(HRU)construct which enabled more physically plausible routing within a *** addition,several improvements to the NPS code base were *** include:free-source format,modern-Fortran conventions,minor enhancements to NPS model science,and code *** manuscript documents all model development activities,presents a comparison of relevant WEPP and WEPP-WQ code bases,and performs a local sensitivity analysis of the final model code for the most important input parameters and *** results indicated that the model performed as expected according to its design and provided important insights for potential subsequent validation studies.

One important issue for the simulation of flexible multibody systems is the reduction of the flexible bodies de- grees of freedom. As far as safety questions are concerned knowledge about the error introduced by the reduction of the flexible degrees of freedom is helpful and very important. In this work, an a-posteriori error estimator for linear first order systems is extended for error estimation of me- chanical second order systems. Due to the special second order structure of mechanical systems, an improvement of the a-posteriori error estimator is achieved. A major advan- tage of the a-posteriori error estimator is that the estimator is independent of the used reduction technique. Therefore, it can be used for moment-matching based, Gramian matrices based or modal based model reduction techniques. The capability of the proposed technique is demon- strated by the a-posteriori error estimation of a mechanical system, and a sensitivity analysis of the parameters involved in the error estimation process is conducted.

Low-carbon manufacturing(LCM)is increasingly being regarded as a new sustainable manufacturing model of carbon emission reduction in the manufacturing *** this paper,a two-stage low-carbon scheduling optimization method of job shop is presented as part of the efforts to implement LCM,which also aims to reduce the processing cost and improve the efficiency of a mechanical machining *** the first stage,a task assignment optimization model is proposed to optimize carbon emissions without jeopardizing the processing efficiency and the profit of a machining ***-dominated sorting genetic algorithm II and technique for order preference by similarity to an ideal solution are then adopted to assign the most suitable batch task of different parts to each *** the second stage,a processing route optimization model is established to plan the processing sequence of different parts for each ***,niche genetic algorithm is utilized to minimize the makespan.A case study on the fabrication of four typical parts of a machine tool is demonstrated to validate the proposed method.

Voltage-controlled conductance and switching induced by single molecules or atoms are ideally studied in scanning tunneling microscope （STM） tunnel junctions. While the objects under consideration are mostly used in their original form, little is known of the possibilities of in situ adjustments of their properties. Here, we evidence properties of a tunnel junction made of a Ce atom/cluster built by atomic manipulation on Au（111） at a temperature of 4.6 K in the presence of H2. The conductance through the object is characterized by a switching voltage corresponding to an opening or closing of an inelastic electron tunneling conductance channel at 50 mV for a Ce atom and 140 mV for a Ce cluster and by charging. We demonstrate that the electronic properties of an STM junction can be engineered in a simple way by in situ guiding of the H2 pinning at an atomic cluster.

A transformation-induced plasticity phenomenon in Fe65(CoCrMnNi)35 medium-entropy alloy was *** to the X-ray diffraction patterns,the as-cast specimen contains a single-phase face-centered cubic(fcc),while low-temperature annealing at 500℃and 600℃leads to the introduction of a body-centered cubic(bcc)phase as a secondary *** increment of the annealing temperature to above 700℃eliminates the bcc phase,and the microstructure was found to contain a single-phase *** 20%true strain,an fcc-to-bcc phase transformation is observed;whereas,at 28%true strain,an fccto-hcp phase transformation takes place as an additional deformation *** strain-induced phase transformation phenomenon leads to improved tensile properties of this alloy.

Iterative Reconstruction for Transmission Tomography on GPU Using Nvidia CUDA

The iterative reconstruction algorithms for X-ray CT image reconstruction suffer from their high computational cost. Recently Nvidia releases common unified device architecture （CUDA）, allowing developers to access to the processing power of Nvidia graphical processing units （GPUs）, in order to perform general purpose computations. The use of the GPU, as an alternative computation platform, allows decreasing processing times, for parallel algorithms. This paper aims to demonstrate the feasibility of such an implementation for the iterative image reconstruction. The ordered subsets convex （OSC） algorithm, an iterative reconstruction algorithm for transmission tomography, has been developed with CUDA. The performances have been evaluated and compared with another implementation using a single CPU node. The result shows that speed-ups of two orders of magnitude, with a negligible impact on image accuracy, have been observed.
