High performance supercapacitors coupled with mechanical flexibility are needed to drive flexible and wearable electronics that have anesthetic appeal and multi-functionality. Two dimensional（2D） materials have attracted attention owing to their unique physicochemical and electrochemical properties, in addition to their ability to form hetero-structures with other nanomaterials further improving mechanical and electrochemical properties. After a brief introduction of supercapacitors and 2D materials, recent progress on flexible supercapacitors using 2D materials is reviewed. Here we provide insights into the structure–property relationships of flexible electrodes, in particular free-standing films. We also present our perspectives on the development of flexible supercapacitors.

Biological materials can actively participate in the formation of bioactive organs and can even control cell fate to form functional tissues that we name as the smart regenerative medicine(SRM). The SRM requires interdisciplinary efforts to finalize the pre-designed organs. Three-dimensional(3D) printing, as an additive manufacturing technology, has been widely used in various fields due to its high resolution and individuation. In SRM, with the assistance of 3D printing, cells and biomaterials could be precisely positioned to construct complicated tissues. This review summarizes the state of the SRM advances and focuses in particular on the 3D printing application in biofabrication. We further discuss the issues of SRM development and finally propose some approaches for future 3D printing, which involves SRM.

In this paper, we report a simple and facile self-assembly method to successfully fabricate cationic metal porphyrin-MtTMPyP(Mt= Cobalt(Ⅱ), Manganese(Ⅲ), or Iron(Ⅲ); TMPyP = 5, 10, 15, 20-tetrakis(N-methylpyridinium-4-yl) porphyrin) intercalated into the layer of graphene oxide(gO) by the cooperative effects of electrostatic and π-π stacking interaction between positively charged metal porphyrin and negatively charged gO sheets. Followed by reduction with hydrazine vapor, a series of novel 2 D MtTMPyP/rgO_n were fabricated. The as-prepared 2 D hybrids were fully characterized and tested as non-noble metal catalysts for oxygen reduction reaction(ORR) in an alkaline medium. The MtTMPyP/rgO_n hybrids, especially CoTMPyP/rgO_5, demonstrated an improved electrocatalytic activity for ORR and a number of exchanged electrons close to 4-electron reaction, increased stability and excellent tolerance to methanol, showing a potential alternative catalyst for ORR in fuel cells and air batteries.

Electrochemically converting carbon dioxide(CO) into useful chemicals or liquid fuels is a promising approach to creating energy rich products as well as solving the environmental problems arising from the excessive use of nonrenewable fossil *** challenges mainly include sluggish reaction,poor energy efficiency and product selectivity owing to the large overpotential required for CO activation,complicated CO reduction pathway and competitive H evolution.[1] We focus on developing robust,inexpensive and highly selective catalysts and engineering the catalyst surface to overcome these *** earth abundant element tin(Sn) as a catalyst is one *** tuning of local chemical environment and electronic structure of Sn sites greatly impact on the binding ability of intermediates and the reaction pathway of CO *** nanoparticles on copper oxide nanowires selectively convert CO to CO with a high CO faradaic efficiency,a high CO partial current density at a moderate overpotential [2].We further explored the use of sustainable organic matter-electrospun carbon nanofiber to confine Sn *** electrocatalytic activity and selectivity of nanostructured Sn modified nitrogen(N)-doped carbon nanofiber hybrid catalyst can even be tuned:Sn nanoparticles can drive efficient formic acid formation,while atomically dispersed Sn species switches the dominant product from formic acid to CO.[3] gold(Au) is one of the best catalysts that can overcome these barriers and promote the CO-to-CO conversion *** the Au particle to sub-5 nm can significantly increase the utilization efficiency,reducing the cost for large-scale *** we have developed ultrasmall Au NPs on graphene sheets with very high mass current density via an easy preparation route,as well as a high selectivity via a simple amine modification strategy to suppress H evolution [4].

Thermo-electrochemical cells(TECs)provide a new potential for self-powered devices by converting heat energy into ***,challenges still remain in the fabrication of flexible and tough gel electrolytes and their compat-ibility with redox actives;otherwise,contact problems exist between electrolytes and electrodes during stretching or ***,a novel robust and neutral hydrogel with outstanding stretchability was developed via double-network of crosslinked carboxymethyl chitosan and polyacrylamide,which accommodated both n-type(Fe^(2+)/Fe^(3+))and p-type([Fe(CN)_(6)]^(3-)/[Fe(CN)_(6)]^(4-))redox couples and maintained stretchability(>300%)and recoverability(95%compression).Moreover,poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrene sulfonate)textile elec-trodes with porous structure are integrated into gel electrolytes that avoid contact issues and effectively boost the P_(max) of n-and p-type thermocell by 76%and 26%,*** optimized thermocell exhibits a quick current density response and is continually fully operational under deformations,which satisfies the working conditions of wearable *** thermocells(four pairs)are effectively connected in alternating single n-and p-type cells in series and out-putted nearly 74.3 mV atΔT=10℃.The wearable device is manufactured into a soft-pack thermocells to successfully harvest human body heat and illuminate an LED,demonstrating the potential of the actual application of the thermocell devices.

Rheology analysis of granular flows is important for predicting geophysical hazards and designing industrial processes. Using a discrete element method, we simulate simple shear flows in 3D under a constant confining pressure of 10 kPa. The inertial number proposed by the gDR MiDi group in France is adopted to distinguish rheology regimes, Both translational and angular velocity profiles are investigated, and both fluid-like and solid-like behavior modes are observed in the flows. The maximum angular velocity occurs near the localized deformation area. We also investigate the energy characteristics of the flows and find that at very small shearing speed, the mean kinetic energy density ek is close to zero, while the mean elastic energy density ec is much greater. At large shearing speed, ek increases. The fluctuating parts of the two types of energy increase with increasing shear speed. Thus, the mean energy density ratio ek/ec can be used in addition to the inertial number to distinguish flow regimes. These results provide insights from energetics into the rheological properties of granular flows.

In this work a velocity-dependent friction is introduced into a depth-averaged 5avage-Hutter dynamical model for shallow granular flows. The process of granular material flowing along an inclined plane and then depositing on a horizontal plane is simulated. The surface profiles and evolution of various types of energy are investigated and compared when using the standard Coulomb-type friction versus velocity- dependent friction. Interestingly, there is a small difference between the two different types of friction.
