本文介绍两种智能天线的结构及其在当今数字蜂窝网及PCS网络中的应用情况。一种智能天线为特殊的自适应cdmaOne^(TM)及3Gcdma2000^(TM*)基站嵌入式设计。这种嵌入式结构处理用于每个业务信道波束,从而提高了CDMA网络100％到200％的空中链路承载能力。另一种智能天线为现今的GSM网络所设计,它采用外接方式与现有的基站相连。它可以通过增加网络中业务信道的载噪比(C/I),或增加在跳频网络中的网络承载系数,使GSM网络的空中链路得到50％到120％的容量增益。

We searched for long period variation in V-band, It-band and RXTE X-ray light curves of the High Mass X-ray Binaries （HMXBs） LS 1698 / RX j.037.5-5647, HD 110432 / 1H 1249-637 and HD 161103 / RX j.744.7-2713 in an attempt to discover orbitally induced variation. Data were obtained primarily from the ASAS database and were supplemented by shorter term observations made with the 24- and 40-inch ANU telescopes and one of the robotic PROMPT telescopes. Fourier periodograms suggested the existence of long period variation in the V-band light curves of all three HMXBs, however folding the data at those periods did not reveal convincing periodic variation. At this point we cannot rule out the existence of long term V-band variation for these three sources and hints of longer term variation may be seen in the higher precision PROMPT data. Long term V-band observations, on the order of several years, taken at a frequency of at least once per week and with a precision of 0.01 mag, therefore still have a chance of revealing long term variation in these three HMXBs.

4-Aminobutyrate accumulates in plants under abiotic ***,targeted quantitative profiling of metabolites and transcripts was conducted to monitor glutamate-and polyamine-derived 4-aminobutyrate production and its subsequent catabolism to succinate or 4-hydroxybutyrate in apple(Malus x domestica Borkh.)fruit stored at 0°C with 2.5 kPa O2 and 0.03 or 5 kPa CO2 for 16 ***-temperature-induced protein hydrolysis appeared to be responsible for the enhanced availability of amino acids during early storage,and the resulting higher glutamate level stimulated 4-aminobutyrate levels more than *** CO2 increased the levels of polyamines,as well as succinate and 4-hydroxybutyrate,during early storage,and 4-aminobutyrate and 4-hydroxybutyrate over the longer *** of all of the genes likely involved in 4-aminobutyrate metabolism from glutamate/polyamines to succinate/4-hydroxybutyrate was induced in a co-ordinated ***2-regulated expression of apple GLUTAMATE DECARBOXYLASE 2,AMINE OXIDASE 1,ALDEHYDE DEHYDROGENASE 10A8 and POLYAMINE OXIDASE 2 was evident with longer term *** suggested that respiratory activities were restricted by the elevated CO2/O2 environment,and that decreasing NAD+availability and increasing NADPH and NADPH/NADP+,respectively,played key roles in the regulation of succinate and 4-hydroxybutyate ***,these findings suggest that both transcriptional and biochemical mechanisms are associated with 4-aminobutyrate and 4-hydroxybutyrate metabolism in apple fruit stored under multiple abiotic stresses.

Review of the optimal timing and technique for extensor tendon reconstruction in composite dorsal hand wounds

Aim: The management of complex dorsal hand wounds with extensor tendon loss is controversial. Treatment has focused on soft tissue coverage, but there is limited evidence comparing immediate vs. staged tendon reconstruction. This review evaluates existing literature to determine the optimal management of composite hand defects. Methods: A MEDLINE database review was performed including obj.ctive measurements such as number of operations, total active motion, grip strength, days to maximum range of motion (ROM), and return to work. Data extraction included demographics, surgical techniques, complications, and relative outcome. We compared primary and secondary staged reconstruction to correlate any significant differences in outcome and determine optimal timing and technique for extensor tendon reconstruction. We extracted information on flap types including regional and free tissue transfer with tendinous components vs. staged tendon grafts. Results: Comparison of outcomes showed that patients with immediate reconstruction had fewer operations, faster return to maximum ROM, and greater chance of returning to work. The most successful single stage flaps include the radial forearm, suitable for reconstructing one to three tendons and the dorsalis pedis for three or four tendons;however, there were significantly more complications in immediate reconstruction particularly regarding donor site morbidity. Pedicled flaps had better total active motion. The two-stage approach resulted in acceptable functional outcomes without significant complications. ;Conclusion: Immediate cutaneous tendinous flaps have clear advantages over staged approaches for reconstruction ofcomposite dorsal hand wounds. Benefits include less operations, faster time to maximum ROM, and higher percent of patients returning to work;however, significantly more flap related complications were seen. Obj.ctive. Incorporating topotecan into standard platinum/taxane chem otherapy for advanced ovarian cancer has been complicated by myelosuppression. This study evaluated sequential doublets of topotecan and carboplatin, followed by paclita xel and carboplatin, in newly diagnosed advanced ovarian cancer patients. Method s. Forty-five patients (median age, 56 years; range, 38-77 years) with stage I II/IV disease and GOG performance status j.stments and delays, including two deaths. Conc lusion. The antitumor activity observed is comparable with other series, althoug h neutropenic complications were increased. Progression-free and actuarial surv ivals were slightly inferior. A Phase Ⅲtrial (GOG182) of sequential doublets in the reverse sequence is ongoing.
