Phosphorus overenrichment of shallow ponds prevailing in wetlands leads to their eutrophication causing the collapse of those vulnerable *** potential of phosphorus accumulation by periphyton developed on artificial substrata has been investigated in two shallow ponds(Bara?ka and?iroki Rit)in northwest Serbia and compared to the same ability of plankton and *** periphyton substrate carrier has been submerged from May to *** continuously(CS)and monthly developed(MS)periphyton were *** component of all investigated communities has been qualitatively *** accumulation of only 14.7 mg TP/m^(2) was recorded in three-month exposed periphyton *** exposed from July to August reached maximal 12.7 mg TP/m^(2).Plankton community that was characterized by more diverse and abundantly developed algal component was more effective in phosphorus accumulation(0.7 mg/g dry weight)in comparison with dominantly inorganic and diatom-dominated periphyton in Bara?*** conditions caused by recent revitalization(dredging organic matter and mud from pond basin—redigging)as well as rapid desiccation of?iroki Rit disabled making an unambiguous conclusion about the efficiency of phosphorus accumulation among different communities,but suggested slight potential of phosphorus harvesting by metaphyton in this *** to the shorter exposure time that brings the reduced risk of unpredictable changes in the ecosystem,as well as the considerable amount of accumulated phosphorus,large-scale application of one-month exposed periphyton developed on artificial substrates would be more advisable for phosphorus harvesting in nutrient affected shallow ponds.

A Spectrophotometric Study of Streptomycin Effect on the Clinical Urea Determination

The results of studying inhibitory effect of streptomycin on the modified Berthelot reaction were presented in this paper and a new kinetic method for determining streptomycin in pharmaceutical preparations and human urine was developed on the basis of the obtained results. The rates of catalytic and catalytic-inhibitory reaction were monitored at 700 nm （t=25 ±0.1 ℃） using UV/vis spectrophotometer. By analyzing the spectra and experimental dependences of the catalytic and catalytic-inhibitory reaction rates on the reactant concentrations, it was noticed that streptomycin attacked nitroprusside and hypochlorite causing the inhibition of the production of 2,2＇-dicarboxylindophenol. According to this effect, an analytical decrease for determination of urea by modified Berthelot reaction appeared in the presence of small amounts of streptomycin. Beer＇s law was obeyed in the interval of streptomycin sulfate concentration from 18.2 to 182 μg·mL^-1. The detection limit calculated by two methods was obtained at 11.75 μg·mL^-1 and 8.54 μg·mL^-1. The relative standard deviation of 0.55%--8.83% and the recovery of 109.10% were determined. The obtained results were validated using the referent hPLC method.

Morphogenic Variability of Some Autochthonous Plum Cultivars in the Region of North Montenegro

Plum is the major fruit species in the area of North Montenegro. Over a long period of growing in this region, autochthonous cultivars adapted, and have been achieving satisfactory results, despite poor growing conditions. A study conducted over a period of three years in a North Montenegro region included in situ identification of autochthonous plum cultivars. Observation and recording of their phenological and pomological traits were performed using International Board for Plant Genetic Resources （IBPGR） and International union for the Protection of New Varieties of plants （UPOV） methodologies. Eighteen cultivars derived from Prunusdomestica L. and two cultivars derived from P. insititia L. were identified. Flowering started between March 26th and April 12th and fruit ripening between 13th of July （Petrovaca） and 18th September （Trnovaca）. Fruit weight ranged from 6.65 g ± 0.235 g to 53.88 g ± 0.654 g respectively and stone weight from 0.16 g ±0.003 g to 2.20 g ± 0.711 g. The cultivars were classified as being extremely small in terms of fruit size, except for cvs Crvenadurgulja （big fruit size）. Rounded fruit shape and light green ground color were dominant. Skin color ranged from amber to black. Yellow green was a dominant flesh color and medium flesh firmness predominated. The fruits of the above cultivars could be processed, particularly into plum brandy, or they could be used fresh or dried. The selected plum cultivars can be used in breeding programmes, as rootstocks as well as in further disease related systematic studies under field and laboratory conditions.

humanistic Principles in the Circle of European Literature Themes

There is the question--can we hope that humanism and erudition can redevelop nowadays？ In the long history of humanistic inheritance, from ancient times till the end of the 18th century, there was obvious decadence of essential humanistic points. As the historial period, humanism means revival of classical culture, and as a specific culturological phenomenon, it means erudite education created by hellens and developed by Romans, who recovered ＂humanitas＂ as global education. Italy was the first who helped humanists to contemplate on classical culture; and in post-medieval age, Italian humanists achieved a supreme measure of humanism through their ＂humanistic studies.＂ We will try to point out good achievements of humanism erudite education in European culture in later epochs. humanism leads man to turn over to world--after medieval stricture--and it becomes self-conscious revolution, what we can see in Latin literature till the 18th century. Rise of individualism, development of libraries and humanistic academies give chance to latin tradition in European literature as universal discipline, including erudite education in international corpus （Ragusa also）. high-intellectual and latinized elites with humanistic state of mind develop complex spiritual inteligency with science requests in later epochs too. We will try to explain in which degree humanism, with its synthetic point of view, influences on later corpus of European literary themes and how great its actuallity is nowdays.

Application of NAA and BA in Chemical Fruit Thinning of Autochthonous Cultivars of Apple

The paper presents the fruit thinning response to NAA and BA plant regulators of autochthonous cultivars of apples. The experiment was designed to evaluate NAA, over a range of concentrations （15, 20 and 30 ppm） when applied alone, and BA ＋ NAA combinations （BA--60, 100, 120 or 140 ppm ＋ NAA 5 ppm） for thinning the assessed apple cultivars. All the applied treatments with NAA and BA ＋ NAA adequately thinned ＂Senabija＂ and ＂Ko2ara＂, whereas application of NAA 20 ppm and 30 ppm and combined treatment BA 140 ppm ＋ NAA 5 ppm were effective fruit thinners for ＂Pasinka＂. In terms of the average fruit weight and number of fruits categorized as large （〉 75 mm or 〉 65 ram）, as well as from the aspect of fruit number per trunk cross-sectional area, the variant of treatment BA 140 ppm ＋ NAA 5 ppm was most effective on ＂Senabija＂ and ＂Paginka＂, whereas BA 100 ppm ＋ NAA 5 ppm had the best effect on ＂Kozara＂.

Comb-Based Filter Design Using Sharpening Technique and Certain Palindromic Polynomial

This paper presents a novel approach to improve aliasing rejection in comb-based decimation filters. The method is established on certain palindromic polynomials with all zeros on the unit circle and the sharpening technique. As a result, aliasing rejection and the passband characteristic are improved. The method is illustrated with various examples and compared with the methods from the literature. .

Multiplierless Wideband and Narrowband CIC Compensator for SDR Application

This paper presents multiplierless CIC compensator for software-defined radio (SDR) application. The compensator is composed of two simple filters with sinewave form of magnitude responses. The parameters of the design are the sinewave amplitudes expressed as powers-of-two and estimated in a way to fulfill the absolute value of the maximum passband deviation of 0.25 dB and 0.05 dB, for the wideband and narrowband compensations, respectively. The proposed compensator requires maximum nine adders. The comparisons with the methods proposed in literature show the benefits of the proposed compensator.

Cytokinome of adult-derived human liver stem/progenitor cells:immunological and inflammatory features

Background: Being non-immunogenic and capable of achieving major metabolic liver functions, adult-derived human liver stem/progenitor cells (ADhLSCs) are of special interest in the field of liver cell therapy. The cytokine repertoire of engrafted cells may have critical impacts on the immune response balance, particularly during cell transplantation. Methods: In this work, we analyzed the cytokinome of ADhLSCs during hepatogenic differentiation (hD) following stimulation with a mixture of inflammatory cytokines (I) in vitro and compared it to that of mature hepatocytes. Results: Independent of their hepatic state, ADhLSCs showed no constitutive expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines, which were significantly induced by inflammation (IL-1β, IL-6, IL-8, TNFα, CCL5, IL-12a, IL-12b, IL-23p19, IL-27p28 and EBI-3). IL1-RA and IDO-1, as immunoregulatory cytokines, were highly induced in undifferentiated ADhLSCs, whereas TGF-β was downregulated by both hepatic and inflammatory events. Interestingly, TDO-1 was exclusively expressed in ADhLSCs after hepatic differentiation and enhanced by inflammatory cytokines. Compared to mature hepatocytes, hepatic-differentiated ADhLSCs showed significantly different cytokine expression patterns. Conclusions: By establishing the cytokinome of ADhLSCs and highlighting their immunological and inflammatory features, we can enhance our knowledge about the safety and efficiency of the transplantation strategy.

Cytomegaloviruses （CMVs）, members of the herpesvirus family, have evolved a variety of mechanisms to evade the immune response to survive in infected hosts and to establish latent infection, They effectively hide infected cells from the effector mechanisms of adaptive immunity by eliminating cellular proteins （major histocompatibility Class I and Class II molecules） from the cell surface that display viral antigens to CD8 and CD4 T lymphocytes, CMVs also successfully escape recognition and elimination of infected cells by natural killer （NK） cells, effector cells of innate immunity, either by mimicking NK cell inhibitory ligands or by downregulating NK cell-activating ligands, To accomplish these immunoevasion functions, CMVs encode several proteins that function in the biosynthetic pathway by inhibiting the assembly and trafficking of cellular proteins that participate in immune recognition and thereby, block their appearance at the cell surface, however, elimination of these proteins from the cell surface can also be achieved by perturbation of their endosomal route and subsequent relocation from the cell surface into intracellular compartments, Namely, the physiological route of every cellular protein, including immune recognition molecules, is characterized by specific features that determine its residence time at the cell surface, In this review, we summarize the current understanding of endocytic trafficking of immune recognition molecules and perturbations of the endosomal system during infection with CMVs and other members of the herpesvirus family that contribute to their immune evasion mechanisms,
