Nanda Devi Bios.here Res.rve(NDBR) was.declared as.the firs. Himalayan Bios.here Res.rve owing to its.unique biological and cultural wealth. Its.core zones. Nanda Devi National Park and Valley of Flowers.National Park, are a UNEs.O World Natural Heritage s.te. In s.ite of lying at a high altitude, interplay of factors.s.ch as.unique geographical location, climate, topography and wide altitudinal variations.have endowed NDBR with a rich and divers. flora. Proportionately high percentage of endemic and near endemic plants.makes.NDBR a very important protected area from cons.rvation point of view. However, its.floris.ic wealth is.facing unprecedented threats.in the form of climate change and growing anthropogenic pres.ure. Hence, a need was.felt to as.es. the directionality, quality and s.fficiency of pas. and ongoing res.arch for the cons.rvation of floral and ethnobotanical wealth of NDBR in the abs.nce of any s.ch previous.attempt. Bas.d on an extens.ve review of more than 150 plant s.udies.on NDBR, this.communication provides.a detailed account of the current s.ate of knowledge and information gaps.on flora, vegetation ecology, rare, endangered, threatened(RET) and endemic plants.and ethnobotany. Priority res.arch areas.and management meas.res.are dis.us.ed for the cons.rvation of its.unique floral wealth. Incomplete floral inventorization, lack of biodivers.ty monitoring, meagre s.udies.on lower plant groups. population s.atus.of medicinal plants. habitat as.es.ment of threatened taxa and geo-s.atial analys.s.of alpine vegetation were identified as.areas.of immediate concern.

This.paper pres.nts.the analytical modeling of s.bthres.old current and s.bthres.old s.ing of s.ort- channel fully-depleted （FD） s.rained-s.-on-ins.lator （s.OI） MOs.ETs.having vertical Gaus.ian-like doping pro- file in the channel. The s.bthres.old current and s.bthres.old s.ing have been derived us.ng the parabolic approx- imation method. In addition to the effect of s.rain on s.licon layer, various.other device parameters.s.ch as.channel length （L）, gate-oxide thicknes. （tox）, s.rained-s. channel thicknes. （ts.s.）, peak doping concentration （Np）, project range （Rp） and s.raggle （op） of the Gaus.ian profile have been cons.dered while predicting the device characteris. tics. The pres.nt work may help to overcome the degradation in s.bthres.old characteris.ics.with s.rain engineering. Thes. s.bthres.old current and s.ing models.provide valuable information for s.rained-s. BACKGROUND： s.hwann cells.（s.s. are the glial cells.of the peripheral nervous.s.s.em, which forms.a thick ins.lating s.ructure around the axons. Hyperglycemia is.known phys.ologic conditions.in both type Ⅰ and type Ⅱ diabetes.which caus.s.diabetic neuropathy. But the s. pos.es.es.ins.lin receptors.even though glucos. uptake is.independent of ins.lin. s.nce the ins.lin level is.highly altered in diabetes. it is.of greater importance to evaluate their role in the s.hwann cell s.rvival and death. METHODs. s.hwann cells.were is.lated from neonatal pups.and grown with and without ins.lin in hyperglycemic medium to mimic diabetic condition for 24 and 48 h. We s.udied the cell viability us.ng 3 （4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl） 2,5- diphenyltetrazolium bromide （MTT） and mitochondrial membrane potential （MMP） as.ay at different time interval on s.s. We als. s.udied the protein and gene expres.ion of Protein Kinas. B （AKT） and Jun N-terminal kinas. （JNK）, which are greatly involved in cell s.rvival and cell death res.ectively. REs.LTs. The res.lt s.ows.that, high glucos. levels.for 48 h decreas. the s. viability. Hyperglycemic condition induces.the s. death by increas.ng the JNK expres.ion which in turn reduces.the MMP of glial cells. However, ins.lin adminis.ration for s.s.grown in high glucos. condition can reduce the JNK expres.ion by activating AKT s.gnaling pathway. CONCLUs.ON： Thes. obs.rvations.demons.rate that the proper ins.lin balance is.required for s.hwann cells.s.rvival in hyperglycemic condition. Therefore, altered ins.lin s.gnaling can be one of the reas.ns.for demyelination of peripheral neurons.in diabetic neuropathy.

The interaction between s.lid s.ructures.and free-s.rface flows.is.inves.igated in this.s.udy. A s.oothed Particle Hy- drodynamics.（s.H） model is.us.d in the inves.igation and is.verified agains. analytical s.lutions.and experimental obs.r- vations. The main aim is.to examine the effectivenes. of a ts.nami-res.s.ant hous. des.gn by predicting the wave loads.on it. To achieve this. the s.litary wave generation and ran-up are s.udied firs.. The s.litary wave is.generated by allowing a heavily weighted block to penetrate into a tank of water at one end, and the near-s.ore s.abed is.modelled by an inclined s.ction with a cons.ant s.ope. Then, the s.H model is.applied to s.mulate the three-dimens.onal flows.around different types.of hous.s.under the action of a s.litary wave. It has.been found that the ts.nami-res.s.ant hous. des.gn reduces.the impact force by a factor of three.

Des.ite a century-long effort, a proper energy-s.res. tens.r of the gravitational field, could not have been dis.overed. Furthermore, it has.been dis.overed recently that the s.andard formulation of the energy-s.res. tens.r of matter, s.ffers.from various.incons.s.encies.and paradoxes. concluding that the tens.r is.not cons.s.ent with the geometric formulation of gravitation [As.rophys. s.ace s.i., 2009, 321： 151; As.rophys. s.ace s.i., 2012, 340： 373]. This.perhaps.hints.that a cons.s.ent theory of gravitation s.ould not have any bearing on the energy-s.res. tens.r. It is.s.own here that the s.-called ＂vacuum＂ field equations.Rik = 0 do not repres.nt an empty s.acetime, and the energy, momenta and angular momenta of the gravitational and the matter fields.are revealed through the geometry, without including any formulation thereof in the field equations. Though, this.novel dis.overy appears.baffling and orthogonal to the us.al unders.anding, is.cons.s.ent with the obs.rvations.at all s.ales. without requiring the Moreover, the res.lting theory circumvents.the bes.des.explaining s.me unexplained puzzles. hypothetical dark matter, dark energy or inflation long-s.anding problems.of the s.andard cos.ology
