Investigating the cellular and molecular mechanisms involved in the development of topographically ordered connections in the central nervous system constitutes an important issue in neurobiology because these connections are the base of the central nervous system normal *** dominant model to study the development of topographic maps is the projection from the retinal ganglion cells to the optic tectum/*** expression pattern of eph/ephrin system in opposing gradients both in the retina and the tectum,labels the local addresses on the target and gives specific sensitivities to growth cones according to their topographic origin in the *** rigid precision of normal retinotopic mapping has prompted the chemoaffinity hypothesis,positing axonal targeting to be based on fixed biochemical affinities between fibers and ***,several lines of evidence have shown that the mapping can adjust to experimentally modified targets with flexibility,demonstrating the robustness of the guidance *** we discuss the complex ways the ephs and ephrins interact allowing to understand how the retinotectal mapping is a precise but also a flexible process.

During the last decade we have witnessed an unprec-edented outburst of new treatment approaches for the management of metastatic colon ***-angio-genic drugs,epidermal growth factor receptor blockers and multi-kinase inhibitors have all resulted in small but consistent improvement in clinical ***,this progress has paradoxically leaded us into new *** many cases the clinical development was done in parallel and the lack of head-to-head compari-son evolved into circumstances where several valid new"standards of care"are *** though desir-able in essence,the availability of many options as well as different possible combinations frequently leaves the busy clinician in the difficult situation of having to choose between one or the other,sometimes without solid evidence to support each *** addition,progress never stops and new agents are continuously *** these reason this review will try to summa-rize all the clinical trials that constitute the theoretical framework that support our daily practice but will also procure the reader with rational answers to common clinical dilemmas by critically appraising the current ***,we will provide with a compilation of promising new agents that may soon become our next line of defense against this deadly disease.

Pseudotumor recurrence in a post-revision total hip arthroplasty with stem neck modularity: A case report

BACKGROUND This unique presentation of hip swelling is only the seventh reported case of pseudotumor recurrence in a non-metal-on-metal total hip arthroplasty(THA)*** constellation of patient symptoms and laboratory findings contradict the expected elevated serum metal ion levels associated with the formation of *** presentation,lab trends,and imaging findings contribute to the growing base of knowledge surrounding the effects of corrosion in arthroplasty constructs with stem-neck *** SUMMARY A 74-year-old man status post primary THA presented with left hip swelling and elevated serum metal ions five years after implantation of a modular stem-neck *** swelling was diagnosed as pseudotumor based on laboratory trends and imaging findings and was treated with revision arthroplasty that completely resolved the initial hip *** patient presented with recurrent hip swelling and recurrent pseudotumor findings on imaging in the same hip four months ***-operative management with ultrasound-guided hip aspiration resulted in symptom relief and resolution of the recurrent *** one year of follow-up,the patient had no further recurrences of hip *** This case of post-revision pseudotumor recurrence elucidates attributable patient,surgical,and implant factors with a discussion of diagnostics,management,and prognosis for patients with pseudotumor in non-metal-on-metal arthroplasty constructs.

Purpose： Physical activity （PA） and sedentary behavior （SB） are increasingly considered independent health behaviors. Additionally, current research suggests that both controlled and automatic determinants account for their adoption. The purpose of this article was to identify intention-automaticity profiles toward PA and screen-based SB and to examine how those profiles are associated with different behavioral patterns. Method： Two cross-sectional studies based on self-report questionnaires were conducted with French high school students （Study 1： n = 198; Study 2： n = 185）. Results： In all, 4 distinct motivational profiles appeared. The first 3 clusters emerged in both studies：＂PA＂（high levels of automaticity and intention for PA, low levels of automaticity and intention for screen-based SB）; ＂screen＂（high levels of automaticity and intention for screen-based SB, low levels of automatieity and intention for PA）, and ＂mixed＂（high levels of all variables）, whereas the fourth cluster was observed only in Study 2：＂high control＂（below-mean levels of automaticity, high levels of intention toward both PA and screen-based SB）. Adolescents with a screen profile displayed the least healthy behavioral pattern, whereas those in the PA profile demonstrated the most favorable behaviors. Conclusion： Future research is needed to extend these results to other populations using complementary assessment methods of automatic psychological processes and PA and SB behaviors.2018 Published by elsevier *** behalf of Shanghai University of Sport. If K is a field with involution and e an arbitrary graph, the involution from K naturally induces an involution of the Leavitt path algebra LK（e）. We show that the involution on LK（e） is proper if the involution on K is positive-definite, even in the case when the graph e is not necessarily finite or row-finite. It has been shown that the Leavitt path algebra LK（e） is regular if and only if e is acyclic. We give necessary and sufficient conditions for LK（e） to be ＊-regular （i.e., regular with proper involution）. This characterization of ＊-regularity of a Leavitt path algebra is given in terms of an algebraic property of K, not just a graph-theoretic property of e. This differs from the known characterizations of various other algebraic properties of a Leavitt path algebra in terms of graph- theoretic properties of e alone. As a corollary, we show that Handelman＇s conjecture （stating that every ,-regular ring is unit-regular） holds for Leavitt path algebras. Moreover, its generalized version for rings with local units also continues to hold for Leavitt path algebras over arbitrary graphs.

During the last 15 years we have witnessed an unprecedented expansion in the drugs developed to target human epidermal growth factor receptor-2(HeR-2) positive breast cancer. Trastuzumab, pertuzumab, adotrastuzumab emtansine and lapatinib are currently food and drug administration(FDA)-approved for the treatment of breast cancer patients with HeR-2 overexpressed. However, given the amount of information gathered from years of uninterrupted clinical research, it is essential to have periodic updates that succinctly recapitulate what we have learnt over these last years and help us to apply that information in our daily practice. This review will pursue that objective. We will summarize the most relevant and updated informationrelated to the state of the art management of HeR-2 positive breast cancer in all the clinical scenarios including the adjuvant, neoadjuvant and metastatic settings. But we will also critically appraise that literature in order to highlight some key clinical concepts that should not be overlooked. Lastly, this review will also point out some of the most promising strategies that are currently being tested and may soon become available.

Overexpression of neurotrophic factors in nigral dopamine neurons is a promising approach to reverse neurodegeneration of the nigrostriatal dopamine system,a hallmark in Parkinson's *** human cerebral dopamine neurotrophic factor(h CDNF)has recently emerged as a strong candidate for Parkinson's disease *** study shows that h CDNF expression in dopamine neurons using the neurotensinpolyplex nanoparticle system reverses 6-hydroxydopamine-induced morphological,biochemical,and behavioral *** independent electron microscopy techniques showed that the neurotensin-polyplex nanoparticles containing the h CDNF gene,ranging in size from 20 to 150 nm,enabled the expression of a secretable h CDNF in *** injection in the substantia nigra compacta on day 21 after the 6-hydroxydopamine lesion resulted in detectable h CDNF in dopamine neurons,whose levels remained constant throughout the study in the substantia nigra compacta and *** with the lesioned group,tyrosine hydroxylase-positive(TH^(+))nigral cell population and TH+fiber density rose in the substantia nigra compacta and striatum after h CDNF *** increase inβIII-tubulin and growth-associated protein 43 phospho-S41(GAP43 p)followed TH^(+)cell recovery,as well as dopamine and its catabolite *** reversal(80%)of drugactivated circling behavior and full recovery of spontaneous motor and non-motor behavior were ***-derived neurotrophic factor recovery in dopamine neurons that also occurred suggests its participation in the neurotrophic *** findings support the potential of nanoparticle-mediated h CDNF gene delivery to develop a disease-modifying treatment against Parkinson's *** Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee of Centro de Investigación y de estudios Avanzados approved our experimental procedures for animal use(authorization No.162-15)on June 9,2019.

Left-invariant PDe-evolutions on the roto-translation group Se(2)(and their resolvent equations)have been widely studied in the fields of cortical model-ing and image *** include hypo-elliptic diffusion(for contour enhance-ment)proposed by Citti&Sarti,and Petitot,and they include the direction process(for contour completion)proposed by *** paper presents a thorough study and comparison of the many numerical approaches,which,remarkably,are missing in the *** numerical approaches can be classified into 3 categories:Finite difference methods,Fourier based methods(equivalent to Se(2)-Fourier methods),and stochastic methods(Monte Carlo simulations).There are also 3 types of exact solutions to the PDe-evolutions that were derived explicitly(in the spatial Fourier domain)in previous works by Duits and van Almsick in *** we provide an overview of these 3 types of exact solutions and explain how they relate to each of the 3 numerical *** compute relative errors of all nu-merical approaches to the exact solutions,and the Fourier based methods show us the best performance with smallest relative *** also provide an improvement of Mathematica algorithms for evaluating Mathieu-functions,crucial in implemen-tations of the exact ***,we include an asymptotical analysis of the singularities within the kernels and we propose a probabilistic extension of un-derlying stochastic processes that overcomes the singular behavior in the origin of time-integrated ***,we show retinal imaging applications of combining left-invariant PDe-evolutions with invertible orientation scores.
