In this work,a reactive air jet attrition device with auto-recording and collection of elutriated fines was developed.Results established insights into the physiochemical interaction and further correlated attrition behaviors between char and oxygen carriers under various operation modes.The attrition rate increased by over 110% upon the introduced CO_(2),which brought in the significant effect of thermo-chemical stress,similarly in effects of the increased char addition ratio and the decreased sizes of char or hematite in different extents.For the char-hematite co-attrition process,the elutriated carbon loss of char with poor mechanical strength was found to be over 10%,while the reactive iron loss of hematite was found to be 6.3%,and was enriched in elutriated fines.The reaction-derived thermochemical stress and the collision-derived mechanical stress jointly controls the particle attrition during the cyclic transformation of oxygen carrier particles in coal-fueled chemical looping fluidization,especially sig-nificant in its reduction stage.

Influences of Graupel Microphysics on CMA-GFS Simulation of Summer Regional Precipitation

The horizontal resolution of global numerical weather prediction models is continuously developing. However, due to the imperfect precipitation simulation/forecast of these models, the demand for considering riming particles in cloud microphysical schemes in these models is increasing. This study employed the latest versions of global atmospheric reanalysis data (ERA5), the satellite retrieval data of the Global Precipitation Observation Program (GPM),and station precipitation observations to explore the impacts of adding graupel to the cloud microphysical scheme in the China Meteorological Administration-Global Forecast System (CMA-GFS) on summer regional precipitation simulations in four Chinese climate zones. The results verify that the new graupel scheme can enable CMA-GFS to decently predict global graupel distribution, especially in tropical and midlatitude regions. The addition of graupel in the cloud microphysics increases the precipitation simulation in North China, while that in Southwest China is weakened and dispersed. Moreover, graupel scheme increases the precipitation simulations of almost all magnitudes.The increase in light rain is obvious, and the absolute value of heavy rain is strengthened. This may be because graupel quickly melts into rain after falling out of the zero-temperature layer due to its large mass and fast falling speed, increasing surface precipitation. In summary, the addition of graupel in the cloud microphysical scheme can improve CMA-GFS’s underestimation of strong precipitation.

We conducted a simultaneous field study of PM_(2.5)-bound particulate polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)and aromatic acids(AAs)in a polluted city zhengzhou to explore the concentration,sources and potential conversion pathways between PAHs and AAs in different seasons.The average concentrations of PM_(2.5),28PAHs and 8AAs during the sampling period were 77μg/m^(3),75 ng/m^(3),and 283 ng/m^(3),respectively.The concentration of both28PAHs and 8AAs were highest in winter and lowest in summer with ratios of 6.3 and 2.3,respectively.PAHs with 5-7 rings were the main components of PAHs(52%),followed by 4rings PAHs(30%)and 2-3 rings PAHs(18%).According to the source appointment results obtained by positive matrix factorization,the main sources of PAHs were combustion and vehicle emissions,which account for 37%and 34%,respectively.8AAs were divided into three groups,including four benzene dicarboxylic acids(B2CAs),three benzene tricarboxylic acids(B3CAs)and one benzene tetracarboxylic acid(B4CA).And interspecies correlation analysis with PM_(2.5)source markers were used to investigate potential sources.Phthalic acid(o-Ph)was the most abundant specie of 8AAs(157 ng/m^(3),55%of 8AAs),which was well correlated with sulfate.Meanwhile,B3CAs and B4CA were highly correlated with sulfate and weakly correlated with levoglucosan,suggesting that secondary formation was their main source.As logical oxidation products of PAHs,o-Ph and B3CAs showed good correlations with a number of PAHs,indicating possible photochemical oxidation pathway by PAHs.In addition,O_(3),NO_(2),temperature and relative humidity have positive effects on the secondary formation of B3CAs.

BACKGROUND Gastric cancer(GC)is a common malignancy of the digestive system.According to global 2018 cancer data,GC has the fifth-highest incidence and the thirdhighest fatality rate among malignant tumors.More than 60%of GC are linked to infection with Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori),a gram-negative,active,microaerophilic,and helical bacterium.This parasite induces GC by producing toxic factors,such as cytotoxin-related gene A,vacuolar cytotoxin A,and outer membrane proteins.Ferroptosis,or iron-dependent programmed cell death,has been linked to GC,although there has been little research on the link between H.pylori infection-related GC and ferroptosis.AIM To identify coregulated differentially expressed genes among ferroptosis-related genes(FRGs)in GC patients and develop a ferroptosis-related prognostic model with discrimination ability.METHODS Gene expression profiles of GC patients and those with H.pylori-associated GC were obtained from The Cancer Genome Atlas and Gene Expression Omnibus(GEO)databases.The FRGs were acquired from the FerrDb database.A ferroptosis-related gene prognostic index(FRGPI)was created using least absolute shrinkage and selection operator–Cox regression.The predictive ability of the FRGPI was validated in the GEO cohort.Finally,we verified the expression of the hub genes and the activity of the ferroptosis inducer FIN56 in GC cell lines and tissues.RESULTS Four hub genes were identified(NOX4,MTCH1,GABARAPL2,and SLC2A3)and shown to accurately predict GC and H.pylori-associated GC.The FRGPI based on the hub genes could independently predict GC patient survival;GC patients in the high-risk group had considerably worse overall survival than did those in the low-risk group.The FRGPI was a significant predictor of GC prognosis and was strongly correlated with disease progression.Moreover,the gene expression levels of common immune checkpoint proteins dramatically increased in the highrisk subgroup of the FRGPI cohort.The hub genes were also confirmed to be highly overexpressed in GC cell line

Influences of shale microstructure on mechanical properties and bedding fractures distribution

The difference in microstructure leads to the diversity of shale mechanical properties and bedding fractures distribution patterns. In this paper, the microstructure and mechanical properties of Longmaxi marine shale and Qingshankou continental shale were studied by X-ray diffractometer(XRD), field emission scanning electron microscope(FE-SEM) with mineral analysis system, and nanoindentation.Additionally, the typical bedding layers area was properly stratified using Focused Ion Beam(FIB), and the effects of microstructure and mechanical properties on the distribution patterns of bedding fractures were analyzed. The results show that the Longmaxi marine shale sample contains more clay mineral grains, while the Qingshankou continental shale sample contains more hard brittle mineral grains such as feldspar. For Longmaxi marine shale sample, hard brittle minerals with grain sizes larger than 20 μm is18.24% and those with grain sizes smaller than 20 μm is 16.22%. For Qingshankou continental shale sample, hard brittle minerals with grain sizes larger than 20 μm is 40.7% and those with grain sizes smaller than 20 μm is 11.82%. In comparison to the Qingshankou continental shale sample, the Longmaxi marine shale sample has a lower modulus, hardness, and heterogeneity. Laminated shales are formed by alternating coarse-grained and fine-grained layers during deposition. The average single-layer thickness of Longmaxi marine shale sample is greater than Qingshankou continental shale sample. The two types of shale have similar bedding fractures distribution patterns and fractures tend to occur in the transition zone from coarse-grained to fine-grained deposition. The orientation of the fracture is usually parallel to the bedding plane and detour occurs in the presence of hard brittle grains. The fracture distribution density of the Longmaxi marine shale sample is lower than that of the Qingshankou continental shale sample due to the strong heterogeneity of the Qingshankou continental shale. This paper investigates the production scheduling problems of allocating resources and sequencing jobs in the seru production system(SPS).As a new-type manufacturing mode arising from Japanese production practices,seru production can achieve efficiency,flexibility,and responsiveness simultaneously.The production environment in which a set of jobs must be scheduled over a set of serus according to due date and different execution modes is considered,and a combination optimization model is provided.Motivated by the problem complexity and the characteristics of the proposed seru scheduling model,a nested partitioning method(NPM)is designed as the solution approach.Finally,computational studies are conducted,and the practicability of the proposed seru scheduling model is proven.Moreover,the efficiency of the nested partitioning solution method is demonstrated by the computational results obtained from different scenarios,and the good scalability of the proposed approach is proven via comparative analysis.

Exosomes derived from human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(MSC-Exo)are characterized by easy expansion and storage,low risk of tumor formation,low immunogenicity,and anti-inflammatory effects.The therapeutic effects of MSC-Exo on ischemic stroke have been widely explored.However,the underlying mechanism remains unclear.In this study,we established a mouse model of ischemic brain injury induced by occlusion of the middle cerebral artery using the thread bolt method and injected MSC-Exo into the tail vein.We found that administration of MSC-Exo reduced the volume of cerebral infarction in the ischemic brain injury mouse model,increased the levels of interleukin-33(IL-33)and suppression of tumorigenicity 2 receptor(ST2)in the penumbra of cerebral infarction,and improved neurological function.In vitro results showed that astrocyte-conditioned medium of cells deprived of both oxygen and glucose,to simulate ischemia conditions,combined with MSC-Exo increased the survival rate of primary cortical neurons.However,after transfection by IL-33 siRNA or ST2 siRNA,the survival rate of primary cortical neurons was markedly decreased.These results indicated that MSC-Exo inhibited neuronal death induced by oxygen and glucose deprivation through the IL-33/ST2 signaling pathway in astrocytes.These findings suggest that MSC-Exo may reduce ischemia-induced brain injury through regulating the IL-33/ST2 signaling pathway.Therefore,MSC-Exo may be a potential therapeutic method for ischemic stroke.

What is already known about this topic?Kashin-Beck disease(KBD)is a chronic and degenerative osteoarthropathy characterized by cartilage degeneration.It is an endemic disease that is highly prevalent among the Chinese population and poses a significant health risk.What is added by this report?This is the first national report on the economic burden of KBD in China.According to the data from 2021,KBD has caused significant disease and economic burdens.The most substantial reduction in healthy life expectancy was observed among patients with degree II severity and those aged 60 years and older,resulting in a total indirect economic burden of 112.74 million Chinese Yuan(CNY).What are the implications for public health practice?The results of this study will contribute to informing the development of tailored prevention and control strategies by the government.These strategies will include targeted policies and recommendations for appropriate healthcare and financial subsidies,which will be based on the demographic characteristics of the endemic areas.
