Striped snakehead(Channa striata)has enormous fisheries and aquaculture importance due to its high market demand and food ***,Vietnam strain of the species has been introduced to Bangladesh for ***,it is essential to develop a reliable molecular technique that can distinguish the Bangladesh strain from the Vietnam ones as biological invasion by feral exotic fish to the wild may cause enduring damage to ecosystem and species *** clips from snakehead samples were collected from six locations and total DNA was *** cytochrome oxidase c 1(COI)gene fragment was amplified by PCR using the Fish F1/R1 primer set and sequenced for analysis of intra-and inter-strain genetic diversity and detection of single nucleotide polymorphism to distinguish the Vietnam strain from Bangladesh ones.A total of 15 haplotypes were identified with an overall haplotype diversity of *** median-joining network created based on COI gene sequences clearly differentiated the Bangladesh strain from the strain of Vietnamese origin by a total of 18 single nucleotide *** In silico restriction analysis revealed AluI was the most suitable restriction enzyme that produced diagnostic restriction profiles of the two strains of ***-RFLP analysis by the restriction enzyme AluI created distinguishing restriction profile similar to that in the In silico *** work illustrates a simple,reliable and inexpensive molecular tool for the identification of the Bangladesh and Vietnam strains of *** by one-step PCR and restriction of the COI gene fragment.

The paper draws a comparison between female and male students＇ language learning capabilities in the backdrop of age-old idea that males are better than females in language learning on the one hand, and some recent study findings indicating females＇ superiority over males on the other. To this end, 43 female and 80 male higher secondary students＇ 468 answer scripts of their regular English exams were collected. For the traditional question pattern, the collected data could measure only ＂remembering＂ and ＂understanding＂ of the examinees. Therefore, the students were compared only on the basis of these two lowest levels of Bloom＇s taxonomy. The participants were of same age, studying at the same level （Grade 11）, and were taught by the same teacher. The study finds that if other variables remain the same, there is no essential difference between male and female regarding learning English as a second language.

More than 10000 different types of ship ply the waters of Bangladesh all year round,but the performance of these ships in terms of CO2 emission is not known and regulations related to energy efficiency of inland waterway ships remain *** paper attempts to assess the present situation of inland class vessels in terms of Energy Efficiency Design Index(EEDI).With the use of a developed database of inland vessels in Bangladesh,EEDI reference lines for different types of inland vessels in Bangladesh were established and then compared with those of other *** present EEDI of existing inland vessels was *** indicate that most of the existing vessels do not meet the current EEDI ***,new guidelines are necessary to achieve EEDI compliance in the near *** recommendations were proposed for improving CO2 emissions,with the socioeconomic and technical factors in Bangladesh taken into consideration.

Mild closed head traumatic brain injury-induced changes in monoamine neurotransmitters in the trigeminal subnuclei of a rat model:mechanisms underlying orofacial allodynias and headache

Our recent findings have demonstrated that rodent models of closed head traumatic brain injury exhibit comprehensive evidence of progressive and enduring orofacial allodynias, a hypersensitive pain response induced by non-painful stimulation. These allodynias, tested using thermal hyperalgesia, correlated with changes in several known pain signaling receptors and molecules along the trigeminal pain pathway, especially in the trigeminal nucleus caudalis. This study focused to extend our previous work to investigate the changes in monoamine neurotransmitter immunoreactivity changes in spinal trigeminal nucleus oralis, pars interpolaris and nucleus tractus solitaries following mild to moderate closed head traumatic brain injury, which are related to tactile allodynia, touch-pressure sensitivity, and visceral pain. Our results exhibited significant alterations in the excitatory monoamine, serotonin, in spinal trigeminal nucleus oralis and pars interpolaris which usually modulate tactile and mechanical sensitivity in addition to the thermal sensitivity. Moreover, we also detected a robust alteration in the expression of serotonin, and inhibitory molecule norepinephrine in the nucleus tractus solitaries, which might indicate the possibility of an alteration in visceral pain, and existence of other morbidities related to solitary nucleus dysfunction in this rodent model of mild to moderate closed head traumatic brain injury. Collectively, widespread changes in monoamine neurotransmitter may be related to orofacial allodynhias and headache after traumatic brain injury.

Objective: To investigate the comparative effects of Diospyros blancoi(Ebenaceae)leaves(DBL), root bark(DBRB) and stem bark(DBSB) on free radicals and ***: The polyphenol contents, antioxidant and free radical scavenging properties were determined using standard spectrophotometric methods. Cytotoxicity and anticancer activities were performed on brine shrimp nauplii and Ehrlich ascite carcinoma cells, ***: Among the extracts, DBSB showed the highest total antioxidant capacity and reducing capacity on ferrous ion. Based on 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl and hydroxyl radical scavenging activities, DBSB showed(95.760 ± 0.343)% and(67.460 ± 2.641)%scavenging with IC50of(3.10 ± 0.17) and(50.00 ± 3.11) mg/m L, respectively. The IC50 values of standard butylated hydroxytoluene and catechin(CA) for 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl and hydroxyl radicals were(8.50 ± 0.25) and(75.00 ± 0.14) mg/m L,respectively suggesting that DBSB had a significant(P DBRB > CA > ***, the phenolic [(139.91 ± 3.924) mg gallic acid equivalent/g] and flavonoid contents[(412.00 ± 16.70) mg catechin equivalent/g)] of DBSB were higher than that of other extracts. In addition, the DBSB showed the moderate cytotoxic and anticancer ***: Our results indicate that Diospyros blancoi stem bark had the significant highest antioxidant and free radical scavenging properties as well as moderate anticancer ***, we assume that the anticancer activity of this plant can be, at least in part, attributed to its content in phenolic compounds as well as its significant free radical scavenging properties.

Soil salinity is a major abiotic stress, limiting plant growth and development worldwide. Plants grown under saline soil condition experiences a significant amount of high osmotic stress, ion toxicities and nutritional disorder, and these are responsible for poor soil physical condition as well as lead to reduced plant productivity. Plants exhibit a number of responses under salt stress by affecting morphological, physiological and biochemical process. A complete understanding of how plants respond to soil salinity and comprehensive management approaches of combining physiological and biochemical attributes with molecular tools are essential for mitigating the adverse effects of salinity on plant growth and productivity. Recent reports on the plant responses due to soil salinity highlighted the importance of integration of different advanced strategies to address the problem of soil salinity. This review will focus on morphological and physiological changes of plants under saline soil and an overview of suitable strategies to regulate plant adaptation and tolerance to salinity stress.

Although insulin resistance(IR)is strongly associated with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD),the association of IR and NAFLD is not universal and correlation between IR and severity of NAFLD is still *** this review,we summarize recent evidence that partially dissociates insulin resistance from *** has also been reported that single-nucleotide polymorphisms in the diacylglycerol acyltransferase gene,rather than IR,account for the variability in liver fat *** of the patatin-like phospholipase 3 gene have also been reported to be associated with NAFLD without metabolic syndrome,which suggests that genetic conditions that promote the development of fatty changes in the liver may occur independently of ***,environmental factors such as nutrition and physical activity as well as small intestinal bacterial overgrowth have been linked to the pathogenesis of NAFLD,although some of the data are ***,findings from both genetically engineered animal models and humans with genetic conditions,as well as recent studies that have explored the role of environmental factors,have confirmed the view that NAFLD is a polygenic disease process caused by both genetic and environmental ***,IR is not the sole predictor of the pathogenesis of NAFLD.
