The use of Chenopodium ambrosioides in some communities in Togo reveals its importance and its medicinal properties. The plant is often infused for medicinal drinks before use. Thus, through a comparative study, this work focused on the identification of the different phytochemical groups and then on the anti-radical capacities of ethanolic and aqueous extracts of aerial parts (lea- ves and seeds) of Chenopodium ambrosiooides obtained by maceration and infusion. The phytochemical tests, carried out on the various extracts, showed that they contained certain biomolecules such as flavonoids and tannins. Likewise, the presence of terpenoids and terpenes has been detected. However, it is only in aqueous extracts that the alkaloids have been revealed. Impact of Urban Solid Waste on the Water of the Kpondjo River(Sokode,Togo)

The main objective of the work is to search for relevant indicators for assessing the impact of waste on water quality and their contribution to climate change. The leaching test applied allowed accelerated access to the water-soluble material that can be mobilized in the various fractions of household and similar waste from the city of Sokodé, a material that can be salted out by leaching and leaching processes in nature. It has thus made it possible to evaluate the reactivity of the waste by promoting access to the composition and the quality of the released organic matter and to facilitate a follow-up of the recovery of the biological activity over a period of 120 hours. The study of physicochemical quality of the waters of Kpondjo River has shown a link between the deterioration of the quality of the river's water and the manner of waste management. The 17541 m3 of methane generated by sludge from slaughterhouses and fermentable fractions of solid waste, could contribute to climate change. Indeed, a composting valorization of biodegradable fraction of solid waste that is generated in this town would reduce the methane produced by this waste and thus help to reduce global warming trends.

Malaria is a parasitic disease caused by the bite of female Anopheles mosquito and particularly affects the tropical areas of the world. According to national statistics it is the leading cause of consultations and hospitalizations. Nowadays, despite the surveillance systems for efficient malaria control and access to generic drugs, Benin is witnessing an increased development of illicit drug markets with a large part of the population going towards such markets. However, this is not without adverse impact on the health of individuals, as well as, the economic status of the country. Therefore, the situation needs to be seriously considered by policy makers at various levels, health professionals but also the entire international community in order to thwart this *** the aforementioned situation, the current study was undertaken aiming to perform a quality control of selected antimalarial drugs of the illegal market in Porto-Novo city. Therefore, 40 antimalarial batches were randomly collected in the illicit drug market and submitted to analytical tests such as: macroscopic examination (a visual and critical examination);mass uniformity test;disintegration test;identification test and active ingredients’ content measurement. At the end of the study, the percentages of non-compliance is 97.5%, 5%, 15% and 27.5%, respectively for the content uniformity tests, disintegration, identification and assay. Over-all, 42.5% of noncompliance was recorded. The findings of this study prove that street vended drugs offer no guarantee of good quality and pose a threat to the health of populations. Also, the rate of non-compliance denotes a flaw in the security of the drug distribution system.
