Ultrastrong confinement,long lifetime,and gate-tunability of graphene plasmon polaritons(GPPs)motivate wide-ranging efforts to develop GPP-based active nanophotonic *** of topological phenomena into such platforms will ensure their robustness as well as enrich their capabilities as promising test beds of strong light–matter interactions.A recently reported approach suggests an experimentally viable platform for topological graphene plasmonics by introducing nanopatterned gates—*** propose a metagate-tuned GPP platform emulating a second-order topological crystalline *** metagate imprints its crystalline symmetry onto graphene by modulating its chemical potential via field-effect *** on the gate geometry and applied voltage,the resulting two-dimensional crystal supports either one-dimensional chiral edge states or zero-dimensional midgap corner *** proposed approach to achieving the hierarchy of nontrivial topological invariants at all dimensions lower than the dimension of the host material paves the way to utilizing higher-order topological effects for onchip and ultracompact nanophotonic waveguides and cavities.

The study examined the effect of pre-marital counseling on marital satisfaction and the relationship of three psychological variables,intimacy,self-esteem and locus of control among married couples who received marital counseling and married couples who did not receive marital *** study employed a cross-sectional *** questionnaires were used to assess all variables of *** entry,validation and analysis was done using the statistical Product and services solution software(sPss version 25).The total number of study participants were *** sample was predominantly female,430(60%)and Christian,675(94%).study participants who were married by ordinance comprised 400(56%)and most of them attended pre-marital counseling 470(65%)for at least five months(Mean,s.D.=5.54±3.44).The results showed that couples who attended pre-marital counseling before marriage were more significantly satisfied with their marriages than those who did not attend pre-marital counseling before marrying[t(718)=2.050,pself-esteem significantly influenced marital satisfaction among married couples who received pre-marital counseling,whereas only intimacy had a significant influence among couples who did not receive pre-marital ***-marital counseling should be encouraged in all counseling centers and churches.

Background and Purpose-Patients with hemiparetic stroke have impaired balan ce control. some patients (“ pushers” ) are resistant to accepting weight on a nd actively “ push” away from the nonparetic side. This research identified p ushers from stroke patients with moderate to severe hemiparesis and examined lon gitudinal changes in symptoms, level of impairment, and functional independence. Methods -Prospective sample of hemiparetic stroke patients (n=65) located in Toronto, Canada. Detailed clinical assessments were performed within 10 days pos tonset, at 6 weeks, and at 3 months. Results -At 1 week after stroke, 63% of patients demonstrated features of pushing. In 62% of pushers, symptoms resolv ed by 6 weeks, whereas in 21% , pushing symptoms persisted at 3 months. Motor r ecovery and functional abilities at 3 months were significantly lower among the pushers compared with the nonpushers. Pushers also had a significantly longer ho spital length of stay (89 days versus 57 days). It is noteworthy that motor and functional recovery improved significantly over the 3-month study period for b oth pushers and nonpushers. Conclusions -Identification of stroke patients wit h pushing symptoms has prognostic implications for recovery. In light of this po tential recovery, rehabilitation specialists need to refine treatment approaches for the pushers to further improve functional outcome.

The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (sARs-CoV-2) pandemic has caused a global economic and health crisis. Recently, plasma levels of galectin-9 (Gal-9), a β-galactoside-binding lectin involved in immune regulation and viral immunopathogenesis, were reported to be elevated in the setting of severe COVID-19 disease. However, the impact of Gal-9 on sARs-CoV-2 infection and immunopathology remained to be elucidated. In this study, we demonstrate that Gal-9 treatment potently enhances sARs-CoV-2 replication in human airway epithelial cells (AECs), including immortalized AECs and primary AECs cultured at the air–liquid interface. Gal-9–glycan interactions promote sARs-CoV-2 attachment and entry into AECs in an angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2)-dependent manner, enhancing the binding of the viral spike protein to ACE2. Transcriptomic analysis revealed that Gal-9 and sARs-CoV-2 infection synergistically induced the expression of key pro-inflammatory programs in AECs, including the IL-6, IL-8, IL-17, EIF2, and TNFα signaling pathways. Our findings suggest that manipulation of Gal-9 should be explored as a therapeutic strategy for sARs-CoV-2 infection.
