High-temperature dynamic b.havior in b.lk liquid water： A molecular dynamics simulation study using the OPC and TIP4P-Ew potentials

Classical molecular dynamics simulations were performed to study the high-temperature （ab.ve 300 K） dynamic b.havior of b.lk water, specifically the b.havior of the diffusion coefficient, hydrogen b.nd, and nearest-neighb.r lifetimes. Two water potentials were compared： the recently proposed ＂glob.lly optimal＂ point charge （OPC） model and the well-known TIP4P-Ew model. b. considering the Arrhenius plots of the computed inverse diffusion coefficient and rotational relaxation constants, a crossover from Vogel-Fulcher-Tammann b.havior to a linear trend with increasing temperature was detected at T＊ ≈ 309 and T＊ ≈ 285 K for the OPC and TIP4P-Ew models, respectively. Experimen- tally, the crossover point was previously ob.erved at T＊ ≈ 315 ±5 K. We also verified that for the coefficient of thermal expansion αp（T, P）, the isob.ric αp（T） curves cross at ab.ut the same T＊ as in the experiment. The lifetimes of water hydrogen b.nds and of the nearest neighb.rs were evaluated and were found to cross near T＊, where the lifetimes are ab.ut 1 ps. For T 〈 T＊, hydrogen b.nds persist longer than nearest neighb.rs, suggesting that the hydrogen b.nding network dominates the water structure at T 〈 T＊, whereas for T 〉 T＊, water b.haves more like a simple liquid. The fact that T＊ falls within the b.ologically relevant temperature range is a strong motivation for further analysis of the phenomenon and its possib.e consequences for b.omolecular systems.

Arb.trary full-state hyb.id projective synchronization for chaotic discrete-time systems via a scalar signal

In this paper we present a new projective synchronization scheme, where two chaotic （hyperchaotic） discrete-time systems synchronize for any arb.trary scaling matrix. Specifically, each drive system state synchronizes with a linear comb.nation of response system states. The proposed ob.erver-b.sed approach presents some useful features： i） it enab.es exact synchronization to b. achieved in finite time （i.e., dead-b.at synchronization）; ii） it exploits a scalar synchronizing signal; iii） it can b. applied to a wide class of discrete-time chaotic （hyperchaotic） systems; iv） it includes, as a particular case, most of the synchronization types defined so far. An example is reported, which shows in detail that exact synchronization is effectively achieved in finite time, using a scalar synchronizing signal only, for any arb.trary scaling matrix.

Novel four-wing and eight-wing attractors using coupled chaotic Lorenz systems

This paper presents the prob.em of generating four-wing （eight-wing） chaotic attractors. The adopted method consists in suitab.y coupling two （three） identical Lorenz systems. In analogy with the original Lorenz system, where the two wings of the b.tterfly attractor are located around the two equilib.ia with the unstab.e pair of complex-conjugate eigenvalues, this paper shows that the four wings （eight wings） of these novel attractors axe located around the four （eight） equilib.ia with two （three） pairs of unstab.e complex-conjugate eigenvalues.

Fractional-order systems without equilib.ia:The first example of hyperchaos and its application to synchronization

A challenging topic in nonlinear dynamics concerns the study of fractional-order systems without equilib.ium *** particular, no paper has b.en pub.ished to date regarding the presence of hyperchaos in these systems. This paper aims to b.idge the gap b. introducing a new example of fractional-order hyperchaotic system without equilib.ium points. The conducted analysis shows that hyperchaos exists in the proposed system when its order is as low as 3.84. Moreover, an interesting application of hyperchaotic synchronization to the considered fractional-order system is provided.

Continuous-time chaotic systems: Arb.trary full-state hyb.id projective synchronization via a scalar signal

The proposed method, b.sed on a structural condition related to the uncontrollab.e eigenvalues of the error system, can b. applied to a wide class of continuous-time chaotic （hyperchaotic） systems and represents a general framework that includes any type of synchronization defined to date. An example involving a hyperchaotic oscillator is reported, with the aim of showing how a response system attractor is arb.trarily shaped using a scalar synchronizing signal only. Finally, it is shown that the recently introduced dislocated synchronization can b. readily achieved using the conceived scheme.

Inhib.tion of host immune response in colorectal cancer:Human leukocyte antigen-G and b.yond

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the most diffuse cancers worldwide and is still a clinical b.rden. Increasing evidences associate CRC clinical outcome to immune contexture represented b. adaptive immune cells. Their type, density and location are summarized in the Immune Score that has b.en shown to improve prognostic prediction of CRC patients. The non-classical MHC class I human leukocyte antigen-G (HLA-G), is a crucial tumor-driven immune escape molecule involved in immune tolerance. HLA-G and solub.e counterparts are ab.e to exert inhib.tory functions b. direct interactions with inhib.tory receptors present on b.th innate cells such as natural killer cells, and adaptive immune cells as cytotoxic T and b.lymphocytes. HLA-G may play a prominent role in CRC strategies to avoid host immunosurveillance. This review highlights the current knowledge on HLA-G contrib.tion in CRC, in related inflammatory diseases and in other type of cancers and disorders. HLA-G genetic setting (specific haplotypes, genotypes and alleles frequencies) and association with circulating/solub.e profiles was highlighted. HLA G prognostic and predictive value in CRC was investigated in order to define a novel prognostic immune b.omarker in CRC.
