Application of organic fertilizer for improving soybean production under acidic stress

The presence of acidic soil in rural areas poses difficulties for agricultural *** factor regulating soil pH is the overuse of inorganic *** increased use of fertilizers in soybean production not only raises sustainability concerns but also contributes to soil ***,the use of organic fertilizer could offer a solution for addressing both issues related to soil acidity and *** purpose of this study was to investigate the manipulation of soil pH using organic fertilizer for soybean production under acidic *** planting medium,consisting of a mixture of topsoil,rice husk charcoal,and organic fertilizer(in a ratio of 2:1:1),was supplemented with 0.5 g of NpK fertilizer as a basal treatment in each planting *** regulate the soil acidity to pH 4,we added FeSO_(4) and allowed the mixture to incubate for 30 *** results demonstrate that the application of three types of organic fertilizers chicken manure(p1),oil palm empty bunch fertilizer(p2),and vermicompost(p3)positively impacts the growth of three soybean *** findings indicate that the application of p2 organic fertilizer can increase vegetative growth almost 50%in soybeans on acidic soil,including plant height,leaf count,and root ***,applying p3 organic fertilizer can boost reproductive growth responses in soybeans on acidic soil,such as pod number(from around 0-4 unit to 42-51 unit),grain number(from around 0-5 unit to 88-90 unit),and grain weight(from around 0-0.37 g to 12-25 g).Organic fertilizer has the potential to regulate soil pH,promoting higher yields of soybeans under acidic stress.

Objective:To elucidate the relationship among knowledge,attitudes,and practices regarding Covid-19 and their relationship with booster vaccination status among women with ***:This questionnaire-based cross-sectional study was performed online and offline among women with infertility who visited an infertility clinic in Jakarta,*** assessed the patient’s knowledge,attitudes,and practices regarding Covid-19 and their relationship with booster vaccination status and sociodemographic ***:A total of 178 subjects participated in this study,and most participants(92.6%)had received booster Covid-19 *** the questionnaire,74.2%had good knowledge,and 99.4%had good attitudes regarding Covid-19;however,only 57.9%of patients had good practices.A weak positive correlation existed between knowledge and attitudes(r=0.11,p=0.13)and a moderate negative correlation between attitudes and practices(r=-0.44,p=0.56).participants’knowledge about vaccines and infertility was correlated with booster vaccination status(p=0.04).Academic background(p=0.01)and attitudes(p=0.01)were also correlated with booster vaccination *** significant determinants of hesitance of receiving Covid-19 booster vaccines were high school education or below(OR=0.08,95%CI 0.02-0.36)and poor practices(OR=0.21,95%CI 0.05-0.95).Conclusions:The majority of the participants had received the Covid-19 booster vaccine and had good knowledge and attitudes but poor practices regarding *** participants had poor knowledge about the relationship between infertility and the Covid-19 *** general population should be more informed and reminded about practices to prevent Covid-19 and the relationship between vaccination and fertility to increase the number of people who receive Covid-19 booster vaccines.

Egg quality, fatty acid composition and immunoglobulin Y content in eggs from laying hens fed full fat camelina or flax seed

Background： The current study was conducted to evaluate egg quality and egg yolk fatty acids and immunoglobulin（Ig Y） content from laying hens fed full fat camelina or flax ***： A total of 75, 48-week-old Lohman brown hens were randomly allocated to 3 treatments, with 5replicates containing 5 laying hens each replicate. The hens were fed corn-soybean basal diet（Control）, or Control diet with 10 % of full fat camelina（Camelina） or flax seed（Flax） for a period of 16 wk. Hen production performance egg quality, egg yolk lipids, fatty acids and Ig Y were determined every 28 d during the experimental ***： Egg production was higher in hens fed Camelina and Flax than in Control hens（p 〈 0.05）. Egg weight and albumen weight was lowest in eggs from hens fed Camelina（p 〈 0.05）. Shell weight relative to egg weight（shell weight %）, and shell thickness was lowest in eggs from hens fed Flax（p 〈 0.05）. No difference was noted in Haugh unit, yolk：albumen ratio, and yolk weight. Significant increase in α-linolenic（18：3 n-3）, docosapentaenoic（22：5 n-3）and docoshexaenoic（22：6 n-3） acids were observed in egg yolk from hens fed Camelina and Flax. Total n-3 fatty acids constituted 1.19 % in Control eggs compared to 3.12 and 3.09 % in Camelina and Flax eggs, respectively（p 〈 0.05）. Eggs from hens fed Camelina and Flax had the higher Ig Y concentration than those hens fed Control diet when expressed on a mg/g of yolk basis（p 〈 0.05）. Although the egg weight was significantly lower in Camelina-fed hens, the total egg content of Ig Y was highest in eggs from hens fed Camelina（p 〈 0.05）.Conclusions： The egg n-3 fatty acid and Ig Y enhancing effect of dietary camelina seed warrants further attention into the potential of using camelina as a functional feed ingredient in poultry feeding.

Comparison of sperm parameters and DNA fragmentation index between infertile men with infection and vaccines of COVID-19

Several preventive measures,including vaccination,have been implemented owing to the severe global effect of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),but there is still limited evidence in the effect of this disease and vaccination against it on male ***,this study is to compare sperm parameters of infertile patients with or without COVID-19 infection and the effect of COVID-19 vaccine types on *** samples of infertile patients were collected consecutively at Universitas Indonesia-Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital(Jakarta,Indonesia).COVID-19 was diagnosed by rapid antigen or polymerase chain reaction(pCR)*** was performed with three types of vaccine,namely inactivated viral vaccine,messenger RNA(mRNA)vaccine,and viral vector *** were then analyzed on the World Health Organization recommendations,and DNA fragmentation was assayed with the sperm chromatin dispersion *** results showed that the COVID-19 group experienced a significant decrease in sperm concentration and progressive motility(both pphology or sperm DNA fragmentation index(DFI;both p>0.05).The viral vector vaccine caused a decrease in morphology as well as an increase in DFI compared with the control(both ppes were not significant compared with the control(both p>0.05).We conclude that COVID-19 has negative effects on sperm parametes and sperm DNA fragmentation,and we found that the viral vector vaccines affect sperm parameter values and DNA fragmentation *** studies with a larger population and longer follow-up are needed to confirm the results.

To evaluate hepatic injury induced by antituberculosis drugs(ATDs) when administered orally for 2, 4, 6 and 8 weeks and the therapeutic potential of propolis(bee hive product) against ATDs induced hepatic injury. Methods: The ATDs were administered for 8 weeks as well as propolis extract at three different doses(100, 200, 400 mg/kg) conjointly for 8 weeks in rats. Silymarin(50 mg/kg) was given as positive control. Animals were euthanized after 8 weeks; blood and liver samples were collected to perform various biochemicals, serological and histopathological and ultramorphological studies. Results: Significant increase(p partate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase, alkaline phosphatase, triglyceride and cholesterol along with reduction in glucose and albumin level were noted after ATDs induced hepatic injury. Significant increase(p pid peroxidation, triglyceride, cholesterol and CYp2E1 activity; decline in reduced glutathione, catalase, superoxide dismutase, glutathione reductase, glutathione peroxidase, glucose-6-phosphatase dehydrogenase activity were observed after ATDs intoxication. Due to presence of a wide range of flavonoids and polyphenols in propolis extract, its administration reduced hepatic injury and maintained biochemical indices towards control. Histopathological and electron microscopic observations indicated hepatoprotective potential of propolis at cellular level whereas, TNF-α, IL-6 and IGF-1 confirmed therapeutic potential of propolis at molecular level. Conclusions: It can be concluded that propolis possess hepatoprotective potential against ATDs induced hepatic injury that may prove itself as a clinically useful natural product in management of drug induced liver injury.

The study links targeted cell surface characterization to the quantified capacity of cellulose degrading pseudomonas fluorescens cells to colonize a (similarly characterized) cellulosic carrier. The experiments were conducted to clarify the effect of cultivation conditions on the achieved state of this carrier colonization. The suggested approach seems to be sufficient to verify the right choice of cultivation medium as a major factor determining the binding complementarity between microbial cells and solid cellulose.

pregnancy Outcomes in Smokeless Tobacco Users Cohort Study in a Tertiary Care Hospital

There is a dearth of literature regarding the pregnancy outcomes in antenatal women using smokeless tobacco products (STp). Objective: To compare maternal and neonatal pregnancy outcomes in antenatal women using smokeless tobacco products with those not using tobacco products. Method: pregnant women attending antenatal clinic at Guru Teg Bahadur hospital, Delhi received brief information about smokeless tobacco products. Antenatal women using STp and matched controls, 92 in each group (total 184) were recruited for the study. After obtaining consent, the urinary cotinine level was measured in both groups at first contact. Antenatal, labour and postpartum events were recorded in both groups. Urinary cotinine levels were again measured at 6 months in the user group. Results: Average age of antenatal women under study was 24.8 yrs and 25.21 yrs in user and non-user groups respectively. More women in the user group were illiterate (p ? 20.39 μg/ml and 24.37 +/? 20.14 μg/ml respectively (p ps for more than 5 yrs recorded higher urinary cotinine levels. There was no significant difference in urinary cotinine levels with the type of tobacco product consumed. pregnancy outcomes of 39 women are known. There was no significant difference in antenatal, intra-natal and postpartum complications in the two groups. Neonatal weight difference was 20 ***: Smokeless tobacco products are the most common forms used by women in low and middle income countries. Larger studies are required to understand their effects on pregnancy outcomes.
