NMR relaxometry is one of the techniques that allow observing changes in the molecular mobility that come from materials’ morphology. T1H has been used to monitor food and polymer sciences. However, T2>H, although being a revealing as T1>H, is rarely used to analyze changes in thermoplastic systems it is more sensitive to the mobile region. High Impact Polystyrene nanomaterials were prepared through solution casting and were exposed for different times to UV light in the air. The samples, removed after each exposure interval, were characterized by T2>H, focusing on the changes in the relaxation data. The results for this parameter showed that the changes in the relaxation data come from the competition of chain scission and chain recombination processes, which occurs due to the UV light influence with increased time. The T2>H data indicated that the clay ratio can influence the chain degradation processes, acting to inhibit or accelerate the aging process [1] [2].

BACKGROUND In the medical and dental fields,there is a need for studies of new therapeutic approaches for the treatment of bone defects that cause extensive bone *** may be an important endogenous biological factor for bone remodeling,and growth factors may enhance the repair *** To evaluate the gene expression of cytokines(IL-1β,IL-6,IL-10 and TNF-α),markers of osteoclastogenesis(RANK,RANKL and OPG)and MMPs(MMP-1,MMP-2,MMP-8 and MMP-13)from the treatment of melatonin associated with an osteogenic membrane and rhBMP-2 on the recovery of a bone *** Sixty-four rats were used and divided into 9 experimental groups and were formed according to the treatment carried out in the region of the bone lesion,which varied between the combination of 1,10 and 100μmol/L of *** Expression analysis was performed using real time-PCR by reading the concentration of total RNA and reverse *** There were differences between groups when compared with clot or scaffold control,and improvement with a higher concentration of melatonin or *** combination melatonin(1μg)with 5μg of rhBMP-2,using the guided bone regeneration technique,demonstrated some effects,albeit mild,on bone repair of critical bone *** This indicates that the approach for administering these substances needs to be reassessed,with the goal of ensuring their direct application to the affected ***,future research must be carried out,seeking to produce materials with these ideal characteristics.

Recently, typing of polymorphisms on the X chromosome has become a standard technique in forensic genetics and a growing number of short tandem repeats (STR) has been established in this chromosome related to genetic population studies. Knowledge of marker recombination is very important especially when the X chromosome typing is used in forensic kinship analysis. It is known that the meiotic recombination is not a simple function of the physical distance between segments of the DNA but the recombination events between them tend to be clustered at special regions of the chromosome. Information on the rate of recombination among markers can be gathered by studying families through several generations. In this work we have typed DNA samples of pedigree consisting of nineteen families in Rio de Janeiro, constituted of grandfather, mother and grandson, and in some cases grandmother and aunt, and reported the recombination of 10 STR markers of the X chromosome. The study of the linkage analysis using the LOD score has shown that the marker pairs DXS8378-DXS7423, DXS7132-DXS9898, DXS7132-GATA172D05 DXS9898-DXS7133 and DXS6809-DXS7133 are not transmitted in a random way, during a recombination event.

Inorganic pyrophosphatase (PPase) is widely studied, to be extremely important for survival of plants and microorganisms. PPases catalyze an essential reaction the hydrolysis of inorganic pyrophosphate (PPi) to inorganic phosphate (Pi). Studies involving the mechanism of PPase were performed in microorganisms culture. We didn’t found reports of PPase derived from soil meta-genomic libraries. Soil environment has immense diversity of microorganisms, yet most remains unexplored and the metagenome are the technologies used and investigate uncultured microorganisms potential. The aim is to identify novel genes using the metagenomic approaches from a bioinformatics perspective and hopefully will serve as a useful resource. With this purpose, we used the metagenomic library of Eucalyptus spp. arboretum (EAA). We did a screening to select a positive clone and submitted them to the process of shotgun. The data obtained was submitted to bioinformatics analyses. These analyses identified were the novel MetaPPase gene and were classified according to the predict family and subfamily.

This article reports the preparation of a series of EVA nanocomposites employing solution casting methods using different types of organo-modified montmorillonite clay. The effect of the organoclay type on the structural organization and thermal behavior of EVA nanostructured materials were systematically investigated. Regarding thermal behavior, the thermogravimetric analysis showed that the nanocomposites presented a slight decrease in thermal degradation temperature compared to EVA, while differential scanning calorimetry, in general, did not show a significant change in the thermal transition temperatures such as glass transition, melting temperature and crystallization temperature of the nanocomposites, regardless of the type and proportion of organoclay in the systems. With respect to structural aspect, the X-ray diffractograms showed that all systems presented a heterogeneous distribution of the nanoparticles, containing part intercalated. Nuclear magnetic resonance relaxometry data provided complementary information for the X-ray results, showing that the EVA systems containing 5 wt% of both studied organoclays presented a mixture of intercalated and exfoliated structures, evidencing that there was a surface interaction between polymer chains and clay lamellae.

Dichrostachys cinerea (L.) Wight et Arn. (Fabaceae) root bark is used in Ivorian Traditional Medicine to treat asthma, which is a respiratory disorder characterized by inflammation and the restriction of tracheal muscles obstructing the air circulation. The tracheal relaxant effect of a crude aqueous-alcoholic extract of the plant root bark was previously shown. For the present study, alkaloids were isolated from the same extract and investigated ex vivo in C57Bl/6j mice isolated trachea contracted with carbachol 1 μM, in comparison with a reference bronchodilatator, i.e. salbutamol. Two extraction procedures allowed isolating 2 Alkaloids that monodimensional and bi-dimensional nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and mass specters allowed identifying a pyrolidine structure type nucleus with a long bi-hydroxyled alkyl chain. Alkaloid 1, carrier of a sugar, is a glycoside of Alkaloid 2. Both alkaloids induced similar spasmolytic effects, but Alkaloid 1 was more effective than Alkaloid 2 at 9 × 10-6 M (p < 0.01), 3 × 10-5 M, and 9 × 10-5 M (p <0.001). Salbutamol induced its spasmolytic effect in a different way, and its maximal effect Emax (less than 30%) was obtained at 9 × 10-6 M, while Emax of both alkaloids (100%) was obtained at 3 × 10-4 M.
