Located in the middle of the fever to solve the problem of CO_(2)emissions in the environment,CO_(2)sequestration by reaction with epoxides is one of the key tools,as it not only fixes CO_(2),but also makes it functional by leading to cyclic ***,the results are focused specifically on the formation of cyclic organic carbonates catalyzed by metal-salen complexes,previously achieved with yttrium and scandium,that are compared with those of analogous complexes containing metals from the first transition series,such as cobalt or *** functional theory(DFT)calculations allow to determine whether this switch of metals will be feasible and provide the basis for instigating future experimental efforts in this *** calculations analyzing the structure and electronics of the catalysts allow us to give not only a clear picture of whether these catalysts will be efficient,but also allow us to assess which metal center is the most convenient and/or whether the catalytic reaction will occur under mild *** buried volume calculations with the SambVca packages shed light on the different catalytic pockets of monometallic first row transition metals *** III salen *** predictive catalysis results show that the bite O-M-O angle plays an essential role in the catalysis.

The poor gas selectivity problem has been a long-standing issue for miniaturized chemical-resistor gas *** electronic nose(e-nose)was proposed in the 1980s to tackle the selectivity issue,but it required top-down chemical functionalization processes to deposit multiple functional ***,we report a novel gas-sensing scheme using a single graphene field-effect transistor(GFET)and machine learning to realize gas selectivity under particular conditions by combining the unique properties of the GFET and e-nose *** of using multiple functional materials,the gas-sensing conductivity profiles of a GFET are recorded and decoupled into four distinctive physical properties and projected onto a feature space as 4D output vectors and classified to differentiated target gases by using machine-learning *** single-GFET approach coupled with trained pattern recognition algorithms was able to classify water,methanol,and ethanol vapors with high accuracy quantitatively when they were tested ***,the gas-sensing patterns of methanol were qualitatively distinguished from those of water vapor in a binary mixture condition,suggesting that the proposed scheme is capable of differentiating a gas from the realistic scenario of an ambient environment with background *** such,this work offers a new class of gas-sensing schemes using a single GFET without multiple functional materials toward miniaturized e-noses.

CD36 genetic variation, fat intake and liver fibrosis in chronic hepatitis C virus infection

AIM To analyze the association of the CD36 polymorphism(rs1761667) with dietary intake and liver fibrosis(LF) in chronic hepatitis C(CHC) patients. METHODS In this study, 73 patients with CHC were recruited. The CD36 genotype(G > A) was determined by a TaqM an real-time pCR system. Dietary assessment was carried out using a three-day food record to register the daily intake of macronutrients. Serum lipids and liver enzymes were measured by a dry chemistry assay. LF evaluated by transient elastography(Fibroscan~)and ApRI score was classified as mild LF(F1-F2) and advanced LF(F3-F4).RESULTS Overall, the CD36 genotypic frequencies were AA(30.1%), AG(54.8%), and GG(15.1%), whereas the allelic A and G frequencies were 57.5% and 42.5%, respectively. CHC patients who were carriers of the CD36 AA genotype had a higher intake of calories attributable to total fat and saturated fatty acids than those with the non-AA genotypes. Additionally, aspartate aminotransferase(AST) serum values were higher in AA genotype carriers compared to non-AA carriers(91.7 IU/L vs 69.8 IU/L, p = 0.02). Moreover, the AA genotype was associated with an increase of 30.23 IU/L of AST(β = 30.23, 95%CI: 9.0-51.46, p = 0.006). Likewise, the AA genotype was associated with advanced LF compared to the AG(OR = 3.60, 95%CI: 1.16-11.15, p = 0.02) or AG + GG genotypes(OR = 3.52, 95%CI: 1.18-10.45, p = 0.02).CONCLUSION This study suggests that the CD36(rs1761667) AA genotype is associated with higher fat intake and more instances of advanced LF in CHC patients.

Association of the HLA-DRB1*0701 allele with perinuclear anti-neutrophil cytoplasmatic antibodies in Mexican patients with severe ulcerative colitis

AIM： To determine the association between the HLADRB1 alleles and perinuclear anti-neutrophil cytoplasmatic antibodies （p-ANCA） positive in Mexican patients with ulcerative colitis （UC）. METHODS： Ninety Mexican mestizo patients （45 females） with UC, confirmed by biopsy, were studied. High resolution HLA typing was performed by pCR-SSO reverse dot blot and pCR-SSp. Molecular typing techniques were applied to define HLA-DRB1 alleles. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and immunofluorescence techniques were used to detect p-ANCA. RESULTS： Forty-eight （53%） UC patients were positive for p-ANCA by ELISA and IF. We found that p-ANCA- positive UC patients had a significantly increased frequency of HLA-DR7 compared with p-ANCA-negative controls （22% vs 5.1%; pC=0.02, OR=5.2, CI 95%： 1.06-37.82）. Disease activity was scored as severe in 20 patients, moderate in 8, mild in 14 and no activity in the remaining 38 patients according to the Truelove and Witts criteria. Subgroup analysis showed a significantly increased frequency of the HLA-DRB1＊07 allele in 15 of 20 UC patients with severe activity of UC and p-ANCA positivity [100% vs 0%; pC=0.0000001; OR=35]. No significant differences were found between p-ANCA positive patients, HLA-DR alleles and other clinical features such as extraintestinal manifestations, proctocolectomy and ***： The HLA-DRB1＊07 is associated with p-ANCA positive UC Mexican patients.
