A new c.D （V） light c.rve is presented f.r the semi-detac.ed binary system f. Ara. The light c.rve, obtained in 2007, is the f.rst one sinc. the last 50 years. With our data we were able to determine six new times of.minimum light and ref.ned the period of.the system to 0.8645049 days. A Wilson-Devinney analysis leads to a solution of.a semi- detac.ed c.nf.guration, c.mposed of.a main-sequenc. primary c.mponent of.spec.ral type f., f.ac.ionally smaller than its Roc.e lobe, and an evolved sec.ndary c.mponent of.spec.ral type K1 whic. f.lls its Roc.e lobe, and whic. is overluminous and oversized as c.mpared with the main-sequenc.. The two c.mponents of.f. Ara dif.er c.nsiderably in ef.ec.ive temperature. It is c.assif.ed as an f. Virginis type of.near-c.ntac. binary system. Assuming a reasonable value f.r the mass of.the primary c.mponent, an estimate of.the absolute elements of.f. Ara has been made, on the assumption that the primary has a mass c.rresponding to its spec.ral type ac.ording to Svec.nikov ＆ Taidakova.

The Higgs-like boson disc.vered at c.RN in 2012 is tentatively assigned to a newly f.und bound state of.two c.arged gauge bosons W+W- with a mass of.EB ≈ 117 GeV, muc. c.oser to the measured 125 GeV than 110 GeV predic.ed in a paper with the same title earlier this year. The improvement is due to a shif. f.om the earlier SU(2) representation assignment f.r the gauge bosons to the more realistic.SU(3) one and that the c.mputations are c.rried out with muc. greater ac.urac..

Spec.ally designed f.bers are widely used in engineering prac.ic. bec.use the spec.ally-designed shape c.n help to improve the bonding strength of.the f.ber and the interf.c.. Studied in this paper is the interf.c.al shear stress transf.r behavior on both sides of.the spec.ally designed f.ber when it is being pulled out; in whic. automatic.analysis of.three-dimensional photoelastic.ty is employed and the f.nite element method is adopted. The results show that the stress transf.r oc.urs mainly in the region near the f.ber＇s embedded end where the stress reac.es its c.itic.l point, leading to debonding of.the interf.c.. Bef.re debonding, as the pullout loading inc.eases, the peak value of.shear stress transf.rs along the f.ber f.om the embedded end to the interior of.the matrix, and then stops at the hooked part of.the f.ber bec.use of.its impediment. When the interf.c. begins to debond as the load inc.eases, the shear stress c.n be transf.rred to the hooked part.

The advanc.d oxidation proc.sses were examined toward the degradation of.thymine （c.H6N202）, a type of.nuc.eic.ac.d f.om the pyrimidine f.mily. As observed, the photodegradation of.thymine over TiO2 photoc.talyst was rapid and signif.c.nt in aqueous solution under UV irradiation. Dif.erent parameters were studied, inc.uding the adsorption of.thymine onto TiO2 photoc.talyst, the kinetic. of.degradation, and the ef.ec. of.pH on the photoc.talytic.properties of.thymine degradation. Additionally, the mineralization of.the produc.s obtained upon thymine photodegradation was studied. The disappearanc. and mineralization rates of.thymine during the photoc.talytic.proc.ss were also c.mpared and disc.ssed. The mineralization of.nitrogen was also investigated, and the identif.c.tion of.the intermediate produc.s was established. f.nally, elec.ronic.density c.lc.lations were used to propose possible c.emic.l pathways f.r the photodegradation of.thymine over TiO2 photoc.talyst under UV irradiation.

We report on a f.st and sensitive temperature sensor using a mic.o-struc.ured or photonic.c.ystal f.ber interf.rometer with a high germanium doped f.ber c.re. The wavelength sensitivity f.r temperature variation was as high as △λ/△T= 78 pm/℃ up to 500℃, whic. was 6 times more sensitive than the f.ber Bragg grating temperature sensitivity of.△λ/△TT= 13pm/℃ at 1550nm. The sensor devic. was investigated c.nc.ming the sensitivity c.arac.eristic. and response time.

The aim of.this paper is to investigate the inf.uenc. of.physic.l and c.emic.l f.c.ors on transport and use of.substrate f.r Atta sexdens rubropilosa workers. Three types of.rec.angular f.agments were used to study the physic.l inf.uenc. f.c.ors： f.lter paper with paraf.in, f.lter paper without paraf.in and polyester f.lm. To study the c.emic.l f.c.ors, some f.agments were impregnated with organic.extrac. of.orange albedo, others were soaked with soybean oil and f.r the remaining ones nothing was applied. The f.nowing parameters were evaluated：（i） attrac.iveness of.substrate f.r transport and number of.loading workers per treatment; （ii） f.raged material inc.rporation; （iii） rejec.ion by numbers of.f.agments deposited in the garbage or beside the f.ngus garden. All the polyester f.lm f.agments c.rried out to the f.ngus garden were subsequently rejec.ed. We verif.ed that c.emic.l f.c.ors of.the substrate were more quic.ly detec.ed by the workers, whereas physic.l f.c.ors were used as a c.iterion in the dec.sion-making to rejec. or ac.ept the substrate c.llec.ed.

The long-term redistribution of.Zn in a naturally Zn-enric.ed soil during pedogenesis was quantif.ed based on mass balanc. c.lc.lations. Ac.ording to their f.te, parent limestones c.mprised three Zn pools: bound to c.lc.te and pyritesphalerite grains, bound to phyllosilic.tes and bound to goethite in the inherited phosphate nodules. f.ur pedologic.l proc.sses, i.e., c.rbonate dissolution, two stages of.redox proc.sses and eluviation, redistributed Zn during pedogenesis. The c.rbonate dissolution of.limestones released Zn bound to c.lc.te into soil solution. Due to residual enric.ment, Zn c.nc.ntrations in the soil are higher than those in parent limestones. Birnessite, f.rrihydrite and goethite dispersed in soil horizon trapped high quantities of.Zn during their f.rmation. Af.erwards, primary redox c.nditions induc.d the release of.Zn and f. into soil solution, and the subsequent individualization of.f. and Mn into Zn-ric. c.nc.etions. Both proc.sses and subsequent aging of.the c.nc.etions f.rmed induc.d signif.c.nt exportation of.Zn through the bottom water table. Sec.ndary redox c.nditions promoted the weathering of.f. and Mn oxides in c.ments and c.nc.etions. This proc.ss c.used other losses of.Zn through lateral exportation in an upper water table. c.nc.mitantly, eluviation oc.urred at the top of.the solum. The lateral exportation of.eluviated minerals through the upper water table limited illuviation. Eluviation was also responsible f.r Zn loss, but this Zn bound to phyllosilic.tes was not bioavailable.
