Prostate cancer （PCa） represents the most common malignancy in adult males with an estimated number of 280 000 newly diagnosed cases only in the United States in 2015. Due to the introduction of PSA in clinical practice, the majority of the patients are currently diagnosed with organ-confined and sometimes indolent disease. However, a nonnegligible proportion of individuals are still diagnosed with locally-advanced tumors. In their recently published article, Bekelman et al. focused on elderly patients with locally-advanced PCa in the attempt to determine the best treatment approach in this patient category, and concluded that, even in these individuals, androgen deprivation therapy （ADT） plus radiotherapy （RT） may confer a survival benefit relative to ADT alone. The importance of the current article resides in the fact that it focuses on a patient population that has not been, or has been only scarcely, included in previous studies on the same topic.

Cetacean morbillivirus(CeMV),the most relevant pathogen impacting the health and conservation of several already threatened cetacean populations worldwide(Van Bressem et al.2014),has shown in recent years an apparently increased tendency to cross"interspecies barriers"(Jo et al.2018a),thereby giving rise to disease and mortality outbreaks in free-ranging dolphins and whales(Mazzariol et al.2016,2017;Jo et al.2018b).

This work presents a novel approach to the dynamic response analysis of a Euler-Bernoulli beam resting on a Winkler soil model and subjected to an impact *** approach considers that damping has much less importance in controlling the maximum response to impulsive loadings because the maximum response is reached in a very short time,before the damping forces can dissipate a significant portion of the energy input into the *** development of two sine series solutions,relating to different types of impulsive loadings,one involving a single concentrated force and the other a distributed line load,are *** study revealed that when a simply supported Euler-Bernoulli beam,resting on a Winkler soil model,is subject to an impact load,the resulting vertical displacements,bending moments and shear forces produced along the span of the beam are considerably *** particular,the quantification of this effect is best observed,relative to the corresponding static solution,via an amplification *** computed impact amplification factors,for the sub-grade moduli used in this study,were in magnitude greater than 2,thus confirming the multiple-degree-of-freedom nature of the problem.

The prevalence of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)is thought to be on the rise globally(1).An updated meta-analysis reported that in 2019 the pooled global prevalence of NAFLD was 29.8%[95%confidence interval(CI):28.6-31.1%]with the highest NAFLD prevalence observed in South America and North America(2).From 1991-2019,trend analysis also showed that NAFLD prevalence increased from~22%to 37%(with yearly increase of 0.7%),with South America showing the most rapid change of 2.7%per year followed by the Europe at 1.1%(2).

Maximally-localized Wannier functions(MLWFs)are broadly used to characterize the electronic structure of ***,one can construct MLWFs describing isolated bands(*** bands of insulators)or entangled bands(*** and conduction bands of insulators,or metals).Obtaining accurate and compact MLWFs often requires chemical intuition and trial and error,a challenging step even for experienced researchers and a roadblock for high-throughput ***,we present an automated approach,projectability-disentangled Wannier functions(PDWFs),that constructs MLWFs spanning the occupied bands and their complement for the empty states,providing a tight-binding picture of optimized atomic orbitals in *** to the algorithm is a projectability measure for each Bloch state onto atomic orbitals,determining if that state should be kept identically,discarded,or mixed into the *** showcase the accuracy on a test set of 200 materials,and the reliability by constructing 21,737 Wannier Hamiltonians.
