Maternal mental disorders in pregnancy and the puerperium and risks to infant health

Prenatal and postnatal period presents the highest prevalence of mental disorders in women's lives and depression is the most frequent one,affecting approximately one in every five *** aggravating factor here is that during this period psychiatric symptoms affect not only women's health and well-being but may also interfere in the infant's intra and extra-uterine *** the causes of the relationship between maternal mental disorders and possible risks to a child's health and development remain unknown,it is suspected that these risks may be related to the use of psychotropic drugs during pregnancy,to substance abuse and the mother's ***,after delivery,maternal mental disorders may also impair the ties of affection(bonding) with the newborn and the ma-ternal capacity of caring in the post-partum period thus increasing the risk for infant infection and malnutrition,impaired child growth that is expressed in low weight and height for age,and even behavioral problems and vulnerability to presenting mental disorders in *** speaking,research on this theme can be divided into the type of mental disorder analyzed: studies that research minor mental disorders during pregnancy such as depression and anxiety find an association between these maternal disorders and obstetric complications such as prematurity and low birth weight,whereas studies that evaluate severe maternal mental disorders such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder have found not only an association with general obstetric complications as well as with congenital malformations and perinatal ***,the success of infant growth care programs also depends on the mother's mental well *** findings have led to the need for new public policies in the field of maternal-infant care geared toward the population of ***,more research is necessary so as to confirm the association between all factors with greater scientific rigor.

In more than 20% of all patients, the Crohn's diseasepresents before the age of 18 years. The diagnosisand management of Crohn's disease in children haschanged dramatically over the last decade, mainly dueto increased awareness, availability of newer diagnosticmodalities such as magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)and newer, more powerful treatments such as biolog-ics. Imaging of the small bowel is needed for diagno-sis, management, follow-up and also evaluation of thedisease in terms of location, extent, activity and com-plications. We review all the methods(barium exami-nations, ultrasonography, computed tomography, MR,and computed tomography- positron emission tomog-raphy) commonly used for imaging the small bowel inpaediatric patients with Crohn's disease analyzing theadvantages and disadvantages of each modality, withparticular emphasis on MR imaging.

Non-invasive diagnostic imaging of colorectal liver metastases

Colorectal cancer is one of the few malignant tumors in which synchronous or metachronous liver metastases [colorectal liver metastases(CRLMs)] may be treated with surgery. It has been demonstrated that resection of CRLMs improves the long-term prognosis. On the other hand, patients with un-resectable CRLMs may benefit from chemotherapy alone or in addition to liverdirected therapies. The choice of the most appropriate therapeutic management of CRLMs depends mostly on the diagnostic imaging. Nowadays, multiple non-invasive imaging modalities are available and those have a pivotal role in the workup of patients with CRLMs. Although extensive research has been performed with regards to the diagnostic performance of ultrasonography, computed tomography, positron emission tomography and magnetic resonance for the detection of CRLMs, the optimal imaging strategies for staging and follow up are still to be established. This largely due to the progressive technological and pharmacological advances which are constantly improving the accuracy of each imaging modality. This review describes the non-invasive imaging approaches of CRLMs reporting the technical features, the clinical indications, the advantages and the potential limitations of each modality, as well as including some information on the development of new imaging modalities, the role of new contrast media and the feasibility of using parametric image analysis as diagnostic marker of presence of CRLMs.

既有建筑的抗震性能评估中,钢筋混凝土构件的转动能力评估是一个关键问题。在现代安全评估体系中,必须进行抗震需求和抗震能力的比较。然而,可采用的性能模型只能反映允许钢筋变形的新结构的试验结果,其变形和强度机制并非必须反映旧构件的响应。众所周知,按照旧规范设计的钢筋混凝土构件,通过不同的结构细节、不完善的约束、光面钢筋和混凝土之间弱的粘结来描绘其特性。与新结构相比,出现了不同的屈服后机制。根据意大利1940-1970年的指南设计了光面钢筋混凝土柱,并报道其第二阶段试验结果。在循环荷载下,对构件的研究结果清楚地显示了在转动能力发展过程中弱粘结的作用。相关的研究涉及柱的单调响应和由欧洲规范8规定的经验公式所确定的弦的转动。

Early post-operative MRI： correlation with progression-free survival and overall survival time in malignant gliomas

Forty-seven patients with Glioblastoma (42) and Anaplastic Astrocytoma (5) were studied with MR 24 hrs after surgery。In order to evaluate the role of early MR in defining the extent of surgical resection and its relation with the prognosis of malignant glioma patients, three categories of surgical resection were considered: gross total, sub-total and partial resection。The results were correlated with progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (ST)。As demonstrated by early-MR, gross total resection was performed in 17 patients, sub-total and partial resection in 19 and 11 patients, respectively。The PFS was 6 months in gross total resection, 6 and 3 months in sub-total and in partial resection, respectively。The median survival time was 16 months in total resection patients, 13 months and 7 months in sub-total resection and partial resection patients, respectively。
