Aim: To evaluate photodynamic therapy (PDT) in vitro to reduce the growth of Candida spp, and its synergy with the antifungals fluconazole and ketoconazole for inhibition of resistant, DDS and susceptible isolates from asymptomatic carriers and with complicated vulvovaginitis. Methods: Between 2017 and 2020, we evaluated 230 women with vulvovaginal candidiasis and 400 asymptomatic. We obtained 130 positive cultures for Candida spp from vulvovaginitis and 94 asymptomatic. Yeasts were characterized by classical and molecular tests. Sensitivity to fluconazole and ketoconazole was evaluated by E-test. The first version of the Brazilian Oceano- graphic Modeling and Observation Network （REMO） ocean data assimilation system into the Hybrid Coordi- nate Ocean Model （HYCOM）（RODAS H） has recently been constructed for research and operational purposes. The system is based on a multivariate Ensemble Optimal Interpolation （EnOI） scheme and considers the high fre- quency variability of the model error co-variance matrix. The EnOl can assimilate sea surface temperature （SST）, satellite along-track and gridded sea level anomalies （SLA）, and vertical profiles of temperature （T） and salinity （S） from Argo. The first observing system experiment was carried out over the Atlantic Ocean （78°S-50°N, 100°W-20°E） with HYCOM forced with atmospheric reanalysis from 1 January to 30 June 2010. Five integra- tions were performed, including the control run without assimilation. In the other four, different observations were assimilated： SST only （A SST）; Argo T-S profiles only （AArgo）; along-track SLA only （A_SLA）; and all data employed in the previous runs （A_All）. The A_SST, A_Argo, and A_SLA runs were very effective in improv- ing the representation of the assimilated variables, but they had relatively little impact on the variables that were not assimilated. In particular, only the assimilation of S was able to reduce the deviation of S with respect to ob- servations. Overall, the A_All run produced a good analy- sis by reducing the deviation of SST, T, and S with respect to the control run by 39%, 18%, and 30%, respectively, and by increasing the correlation of SLA by 81%.

The distinction between sporadic and genetic behavioural-variant frontotemporal dementia(bvFTD)regarding some neuropsychological(NP)features remains ***,progranulin(GRN)-associated bvFTD frequently presents with early episodic memory impairment and some degree of parietal dysfunction which are supporters of Alzheimer’s disease(AD)*** this context,we aimed to characterize the NP profile of GRN-bvFTD as compared to sporadic-bvFTD and AD in patients with mild dementia(Mini-Mental State Examination score≥17 and Clinical Dementia Rating Scale score≤*** identified 21 patients at Centro Hospitalar e Universitário de Coimbra,Portugal with GRN mutations belonging to fifteen different *** our focus was bvFTD variants,FTD-related aphasic forms(3 patients)were *** remaining 18 GRN-bvFTD were further matched with 18 sporadic-bvFTD and 18 AD patients according to disease staging,age and *** patients completed the Mini-Mental State Examination,Montreal Cognitive Assessment(MoCA)and a comprehensive NP assessment *** were converted into *** between groups in individual NP measures and NP domains were assessed through non-parametric tests(Kruskal-Wallis test analysis)and eta squared(ŋ2)was calculated as a measure of effect *** comparisons show that GRN patients have worse performances on verbal retrieval processes(P=0.039,ŋ2=0.110)and visuoconstructive abilities(P=0.039,ŋ2=0.190)than sporadic bvFTD *** compared to AD,GRN patients present a higher impairment in frontal(P=0.001,ŋ2=0.211)and parietal(P=0.041,ŋ2=0.129)measures and a better performance in memory tasks(P=0.020,ŋ2=0.120).Sporadic-bvFTD forms are worse than AD in frontal measures(P=0.032,ŋ2=0.200),being better in both memory(P=0.010,ŋ2=0.131)and visuospatial skills(P=0.023,ŋ2=0.231).Considering these results,we conclude that GRN-bvFTD patients present a NP profile that associates the typical patterns of FTD and AD ***

This paper seeks to explore connections between some philosophical concepts and the movie Tattoo （Brazil, 2013）, directed by Hilton Lacerda. This movie approaches the Slash movies, a kind of Brazilian movies that use the humor and the mockery as ways of resistance to interrogate political, philosophical, and moral questions. The concepts of fabulation and the potency of the false will be thought in its connections with the Arts to think the force of this movie with its experimental characteristics （sound, image, performance...） in touching ethics, political, and social problems of the past and update them to think the Brazilian contemporary society. We also want to point out the possibilities of this movie operating a micro-political resistance, using the humor and irony as tools to cause effects in the reality. In Tattoo, the violence （and, the oppression itself） is fought by the tasting and experimentation of another culture providing other ways of life, enabling other effectuations and desires, even if the sanction was going to repress.

Contextualized Analysis of Social Networks:Collaboration in Scientific Communities

Currently, the collaboration in scientific communities has been studied in order to explain, among other things, the knowledge diffusion. The quality of Graduate Programmes is often associated with the scientific collaboration. This paper discusses how scientific collaboration processes can be identified and characterized through social and complex networks. For this purpose, collaboration networks of bibliographic production, research projects, and committees of PhD theses and Masters’ dissertations by researchers from a graduate program in computational modeling were studied. The data were obtained from CAPES’ reports of the period from 2001 to 2009. Among the studied indices, centrality indices indicate the presence of prominent researchers who influence others and promptly interact with other researchers in the network. The indices of complex networks reveal the presence of the small-world (i.e. these networks are favorable to increase coordination between researchers) phenomenon and indicate a behavior of scale-free degree distribution (i.e. some researchers promote clustering more than others) for one of the studied networks.
