Molybdenum disulfide-graphene van der Waals heterostructures as stable and sensitive electrochemical sensing platforms

Atomic layers are sought after for molecular sensing due to their available high surface interaction area,and different types of monolayers are attempted for sensing in the recent ***,their chemical stability towards these molecules is questioned in recent times and alternate methods need to be developed to circumvent such issues,while maintaining high ***,the van der Waals(vdWs)stacks of molybdenum disulfide(MoS_(2))and graphene are shown for their stable electrochemical sensing towards ascorbic acid(AA)and dopamine(DA)-two important *** is known to chemically react with MoS_(2) leading to unstable sensing platform,while here the graphene coverage is shown to protect the MoS_(2) even from low-energy plasma exposure while keeping the same high *** proving the graphene-based protection of the sensor,such a sensing platform is shown for its applicability in DA sensing,where it is found to give a linear response in a wide range of concentrations(2.5 to 600μmol·L^(−1))and even selective sensing in the presence of *** a stack is found to be not merely giving protection to the beneath MoS_(2) layer but also the inter-layer charge transfer due to work function differences being beneficial in bringing fast and high sensitivity to the next-generation sensors and point-of-care devices.

Endoscopic mucosal resection for high-grade dysplasia and intramucosal carcinoma in Barrett's esophagus: An Italian experience

AIM： To evaluate endoscopic mucosal resection （EMR） in patients with high-grade dysplasia （HGD） and/or intramucosal cancer （IMc） in Barrett＇s esophagus （BE）. METHODS： Between June 2000 and December 2003, 39 consecutive patients with HGD （35） and/or IMc （4） underwent EMR. BE 〉30 mm was present in 27 patients. In three patients with short segment BE （25.0%）, HGD was detected in a normal appearing BE. Lesions had a mean diameter of 14.8＋10.3 ram. Mucosal resection was carried out using the cap method. RESULTS： The average size of resections was 19.7± 9.4×14.6＋8.2 mm. Histopathologic assessment postresection revealed 5 low-grade dysplasia （LGD）（12.8%）, 27 HGD （69.2%）, 2 IMc （5.1%）, and 5 SMc （-12.8%）. EMR changed the pre-treatment diagnosis in 10 patients （25.6%）. Three patients with SMc underwent surgery. Histology of the surgical specimen revealed 1 TOn0 and 2 TIn0 lesions. The remaining two patients were cancer free at 32.5 and 45.6 mo, respectively. A metachronous lesion was detected after 25 mo in one patient with HGD. Intra-procedural bleeding, controlled at endoscopy, occurred in four patients （10.3%）. After a median follow-up of 34.9 mo, all patients remained in remission. cOncLUSIOn： In the medium term, EMR is effective and safe to treat HGD and/or IMc within BE and is a valuable staging method. It could become an alternative to surgery.

t coelomycetous fungi are an artificial taxonomic group which produce conidia inside a cavity *** comprise about,1000 genera and 7000 species,which can be endophytic,pathogenic or *** classification of coelomycetes was previously based on morphology,such as the shape of conidiomata and mode of conidiogenesis,while it was treated as a distinct group *** based taxonomic studies has been used to accommodate asexual fungi in a natural classification system,resolve generic boundaries of polyphyletic genera and species complexes,as well as establish asexual-sexual ***,most of genera lack sequence data,thus,morphology based identification is still important when introducing new genera or *** this paper we illustrate,describe,and provide taxonomic notes for 235 dematiaceous coelomycetous genera,including five new genera ***,Didymellocamarosporium,Melanocamarosporium,Melnikia and *** analyses of combined sequence data are provided to show placements of dematiaceous coelomycetes in Dothideomycetes,Leotiomycetes and ***-hundred and fifty-two(65%)of genera have sequence data,thus,their taxonomic placement in a natural classification system,is listed as an ***,83 genera still lack sequence data,hence,they are treated as Ascomycota,genera incertae *** addition,separate analyses are provided where better taxonomic resolution is needed.
