Orthopedic infections pose severe societal and economic burden and interfere with the capability of the implanted devices to integrate in the host bone,thus significantly increasing implants failure *** address infection and promote integration,here nanostructured antibacterial and bioactive thin films are proposed,obtained,for the first time,by Ionized Jet Deposition(IJD)of silver-substituted tricalcium phosphate(Ag-TCP)targets on *** morphology,composition and mechanical properties are characterized and proof-of-concept of biocompatibility is *** efficacy is investigated against four Gram positive and Gram negative bacterial strains and against *** fungus,by investigating the modifications in planktonic bacterial growth in the absence and presence of ***,for all bacterial strains,the capability of the film to inhibit bacterial adhesion is also *** indicate that IJD permits a fine control over films composition and morphology and deposition of films with suitable mechanical *** studies show a good efficacy against Escherichia coli,Staphylococcus aureus,Pseudomonas aeruginosa,Enterococcus faecalis and against fungus Candida albicans,with evidences of efficacy against planktonic growth and significant reduction of bacterial cell *** cytotoxic effects are evidenced for equine adipose tissue derived mesenchymal stem cells(ADMSCs),as no reductions are caused to cells viability and no interference is assessed in cells differentiation towards osteogenic lineage,in the presence of ***,thanks to nanostructuration and biomimetic composition,tricalcium phosphate(TCP)coatings favor cells viability,also when *** findings show that silver-substituted nanostructured coatings are promising for orthopedic implant applications.

Ti-6Al-4Zr-2Sn-6Mo alloy is one of the most recent titanium alloys processed using powder bed fusion-laser beam(PBF-LB)*** alloy has the potential to replace Ti-6Al-4V in automotive and aerospace applications,given its superior mechanical properties,which are approximately 10%higher in terms of ultimate tensile strength(UTS)and yield strength after appropriate heat *** as-built conditions,the alloy is characterized by the presence of soft orthorhombicα″martensite,necessitating a postprocessing heat treatment to decompose this phase and enhance the mechanical properties of the ***,PBFed Ti6246 components undergo an annealing process that transforms theα″martensite into anα-βlamellar *** primary objective of this research was to develop a solution treatment and aging(STA)heat treatment tailored to the unique microstructure produced by the additive manufacturing process to achieve an ultrafine bilamellar microstructure reinforced by precipitation *** study investigated the effects of various solution temperatures in theα-βfield(ranging from 800 to 875℃),cooling media(air and water),and aging time to determine the optimal heat treatment parameters for achieving the desired bilamellar *** each heat treatment condition,differentα-βmicrostructures were found,varying in terms of theα/βratio and the size of the primaryα-phase *** attention was given to how these factors were influenced by increases in solution temperature and how microhardness correlated with the percentage of the metastableβphase present after *** tests were performed on samples subjected to the most promising heat treatment parameters.A comparison with literature data revealed that the optimized STA treatment enhanced hardness and UTS by13%and 23%,respectively,compared with those of the annealed *** surface analyses were conducted to investigate fracture mechanisms.

Typically, the unambiguous determination of the quantum numbers of nuclear states is a challenging task. Recently, it has been proposed to utilize to this aim vortex photons in the MeV energy region and, potentially, this could revolutionize nuclear spectroscopy because of the new and enhanced selectivity of this probe. Moreover, nuclei may become diagnostic tools for vortex photons. Still, some open questions have to be dealt *** exhibit intricate excitation spectra. Indeed, not all states within these spectra are equally significant. Some are not sensitive to specific terms in the nuclear Hamiltonian or do not display novel features, so that investigating them is not helpful to enhance our overall understanding of nuclear structure. On the other hand, there are states that manifest themselves as prominent peaks, e.g., in the inelastic scattering spectra. Among the best examples are the so-called Giant Resonances that lie at energies of the order of tens of MeV [1].

We present a preliminary study of charge exchange heavy ion induced reactions based on the constrained molecular dynamics(CoMD)*** purpose is to test the capability of the model in predicting the occurrence of single charge exchange(SCE)and double charge exchange(DCE)exit channels for three different en-trance channels at the same laboratory incident *** nuclear reaction dynamics and nuclear interaction within the CoMD approach are the only ingredients that have given,at this stage,promising results for SCE and DCE cross section *** obtained results suggest an upgrade and possible future employment of the model for studies relating to the production of exotic nuclei through charge exchange reactions or DCE reactions and their connection with neutrinoless double beta decay.

We prove an L∞ version of the Yan theorem and deduce from it a necessary condition for the absence of free lunches in a model of financial markets, in which asset prices are a continuous R^d valued process and only simple investment strategies are admissible. Our proof is based on a new separation theorem for convex sets of finitely additive measures.

1 Introduction Isolated atrial septal defects （ASD） represent 7% of all cardiac anomalies and can present at any age. Adolescents and adults with simple congenital heart disease such as isolated atrial septal defects are more likely to reach adult age without being diagnosed. Secundum ASD （sASD） is by far the most common type, occurring in 1/1500 live births, with 65% to 75% involving females, On the other hand, patent foramen ovale （PFO） represents an endemic variant in the normal population with a prevalence of 25%-27%. These two entities appear so different that is difficult to fred a conjunction ring： nevertheless we use the same philosophy for the treatment, Indeed, device-based closure has been proved to be effective in both settings.
